Hey Guys my Kingpin comes in Thursday and I forgot this thing needs 3 8pin pcie cables. Does it happen to come with its own cables or do I need to go ahead and rush order a third cable for my psu?

It needs 3 Separate Cables Yes.
No, the 3 Separate Cables will come from your Power Supply.
Not as easy as you think to order a Single Cable, your Power Supply should have come with 4 or 6 Cables.
If not you need to buy a new Power Supply. DO NOT MIX Power Supply Cables unless they are of the Same Make and Model.
What Power Supply do you have?

I have a Seasonic 850w focus plus, but I'm also considering just making the jump and getting something bigger since im upgrading my motherboard and cpu with my kingpin. Do you have any recommendations if I do decide to upgrade?

Yes.. jump to a much bigger psu. Evga supernova 1200-1300watt PSU. Hunt around for a deal and evga has there own ebay store as well which has some deals to be found usually.

That evga 1600watt model would be sweet as well but expensive.

Haha, yea I figured it was probably best to jump up to something bigger. Would gold rated be fine or should I go with something like platinum grade? I have been reading all these guides kept getting the feeling the 850w wasn't going to cut it anymore. Thanks for the recommendation still pretty new with this stuff just built my first PC last year but I think I caught the bug because I have been itching to upgrade for months.

If it's not too late, change it out to a 1200 P2 or get a Seasonic 1300. The EVGA Gold PSU's don't have the Eco mode (fanless up to ~40% load) and when the fan kicks in lets just say it's not exactly quiet. If you want a quieter fan check out a Seasonic 1200/1300 or an Asus Thor 1200 (same fanless mode but these also use a quieter FDB fan, downside is they are not quite as durable as ball-bearing type). If your system isn't already geared toward being as silent as possible and you don't care about that sort of thing, then disregard my post and go for the G2.

Good call going for a bigger PSU. IMHO any system with an OC'd KPE & CPU should have 1200watts or more.

Sorry degenerate I had to.

But I will add that the 4 1300 G2 I have do not have the ECO Switch as shown above.
Maybe why they none of them work on any of my X299 Motherboards.

Yeah I was gona say I know it's on there as I've almost switched it on a few times going for the psu switch.

I dont use it ;) dont hear that fan anyways over my rad fans.

I've got that 1300watt supply and I believe so does bcavnaugh.. but I'm sure hes got that big sexy 1600watt model as well.

Yeah I had the chance to buy it when I bought this one but it would of been like $100+ more at the time and felt I'd never need that much power. Build a time machine I'd go back and snag it just because haha

You'll be quite happy with the supernova G2 1300watt!

You guys must have pretty "loud" rad fans, relatively speaking. I've got 8x 120mm rad fans with a single 140mm exhaust right now and when I'm loading the machine the fans ramp up to anywhere from 60%-80%, 1200-1600rpm. When using my SuperNova 1000 P2 its fan was easily louder than all other fans combined with system at full load. My current rig pulls a good 725-watts when under gaming loads which meant that the 1000 P2's fan was on basically all the time while gaming, as the fanless mode is only good for roughly ~400watts of output before the fan kicks in. A single 2080Ti KPE on its own can pull 400watts+! With my new 1600 T2 I now have roughly ~620watts of buffer room before the fan wants to kick in which now only happens very rarely and when it does it only comes on for a few mins then right back to fanless mode. When it does kick in though, I can hear it over the rest of my fans as was the case with my 1000 P2; albeit not quite as loud because its not being stressed nearly as hard as the 1000 P2 was.

*Edit - If EVGA now offers the ECO Mode on their Gold PSU's this is a new development since I last looked into it. My apologies.

**Edit - Just went and checked... kinda confused with the G2's... some don't list ECO Mode in specs but show it in pictures, maybe the lower powered G2's have it and higher powered don't *shrug* no idea at this point lol. The newer G3 and G+ models seem to have it though, along with a different fan, this time of the FDB variety.

For me the 1300 G2 was the best PSU for me until the X299 Was released and found that none of mine would Power it.
Under Specs it now shows ECO Mode = Yes https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=120-G2-1300-XR for me I prefer No ECO Switch.
I never heard the Fan on any of mine and 3 of the 4 are in use ATM.

If you don't hear the fan it's because your other fans are louder and your system(s) aren't geared toward silence. I would have to have all my rad fans at 100% to match the PSU noise in ECO Mode let alone with ECO Mode off. I build my systems with silence in mind so it's only as strong as its weakest link, more often than not that ends up being the PSU. I am going to look into mods for replacing PSU fans. A 100% passively cooled 1200+watt PSU would be the holy grail... maybe one day. Closest I've seen thus far is a passive 650w; long ways to go yet...

It’s huge as well. I’ve got the EVGA 1600w T2. It’s a massive PSU. I love the warranty though. It’s like I’ll never have to buy a new PSU.

Never say never.

Capacitors wear out.  That is guaranteed.  It will fail.  A new model will be available with better efficiency, smaller, and quieter.
