I used my own code the first time and just now if I goto checkout it shows Using Associate Code (9GTWCPTEKSHJHBM), you saved $95.00!  That's my code verified on my member page.

Now the question is.. do I get 54 EVGA bucks back in 30 days? hehe

I think you are reading it wrong.
What do your see here?  https://www.evga.com/associates/activity.aspx

No transactions to display.  Guess I got the shaft! haha. Though it says it takes 30 days to show up. So... I guess if you see something or someone does then we that use our own code is pointless. Share the love I guess.

Due to today being colder I was able to open some windows and bring down the ambient temperature by about 4-5c. I ditched two 20mm shrouds on the exhaust section on the radiator to allow better clearance with the mobo. I got to #36 on Firestrike Extreme single gpu . +1480 on Mem and +120 on GPU, had some beers and talked myself into getting 5.4ghz @1.395v on air with Ring 49. I currently have not used the classified tool, just Precision X1 3.16. So I feel I still have more room to go.

Thank you bcavnaugh for the instructions on how to go stand alone for 3D mark. I feel that regardless of everything else I did, your tip contributed most.

And for anyone else who cares to read, I am an amateur overclocker. Overclocking since my AMD 64 3200+ and have never used liquid cooling until the 2080ti Kingpin card. The z390 Dark was my first EVGA product and this card my second. The amount of engineering and thought that has gone into both products continues to amaze me. Thank you T|n and K|ngp|n for the work you do and for sharing with us all your secrets. I know this sounds sappy but I feel a sense of accomplishment.

Beautiful post! Thanks for sharing!

I believe my first overclocking was maybe the intel 2 slot 1 300a cpu? Of I'm getting the name right.

Crazy ya gone this long and never tried water cooling! Hopefully your next step is a custom loop.

Awesome post Deficatus!  My first overclock was a Pentium Pro 200 in 1997, I swapped the oscillator on the supermicro motherboard a few times and got near 300mhz with NT4 while playing games on a 3dfx/matrox setup. I remember quite a bit of work going into hacking gfx drivers to get games to work on NT4.  And Ahowes reminded me that I still have my Intel Celerystick 300A which ran quite well at 504mhz on an ABIT BH6.  I was so excited to not have to solder anymore lol.  We sure have it easy now.

My Kingpin is cranky too.  My best scores always happen with auto NVVDD and loadline 0 in the classy tool which gives a 'slow' clock typically around 2145 but when the z390 Dark lines up properly, it pops out some scores that make me very happy.

Loved that Abit BH5 MB! I believe that was possibly my first mb from my first ever pc build. Bought the BE6 and BE6-II sooner after which I bought again a few years ago to play around with about 24 or so slot 1 p2 CPU's haha. Had to recap that board.

Abit NF7 board was a nightmare.. I'm pretty sure i bought 12 of those boards just from trying to volt mod the memory on it. $100 bucks a pop sucked hard.

The original Alpha massive heatsink for the p2 slot1 is a heatsink I've been trying to find for a long time now so I can overclock those chips.

I purchased mine using my own associate code also. I have no idea what the $95 dollars off was but it really did take it off at checkout. But now that I realize what I did (and it sounds like a few of us might have done the same thing) it probably means I won't get any of the EVGA bucks back - just the discount.

But just to be clear - you had to be an associate to purchase the card but you had to use someone else's associate code to get the bucks back - is that about right?

I have a 1080 Ti FTW3 hooked up now, being run by an i7700k CPU.  So far I haven't noticed any CPU bottleneck because I game at high resolutions.  I have a 2080 Ti Kingpin on the way now.  Assuming I'm gaming at 3440x1440 at 100 Hz or higher, do I need a new CPU to drive this thing or will the GPU still be the ultimate bottleneck at those resolutions?

Post your Links to some of your Scores to review.
But Benchmarking and Gamming are not all equal.

Nice!

My just was delivered 10 mins ago.. need to crack the box open to warm up but crap.. I'm a weirdo and gona wait a few hours before the excitement is over.

Awesome, good for you! I got a Thursday delivery for some reason. The waiting is giving me some time to learn some things, but geez, I want to smell that new card smell, already.

@rmmil978
Grats on the 2080ti KPE ;o
It depends on what res and what hz. Even at 1080p near 185hz it is easy to demonstrate that the i7700k @ 5.2ghz all core is bottle-necking a 1080 TI. You can see it in frame time and max FPS.. Deductive reasoning leads to the conclusion that the RTX 2080TI would also be bottle-necked.  As for justification on a 9900K... I just justified buying another 9900k on account of an LED on a motherboard not being lit so... Grain of salt and all that.

For gaming with your monitor I would be considered with frame time delivery but for the average person probably not an issue.

Grats AHowes!!! I can't wait to see some of your 3Dmark results.
