Could always just pop a bunch of copper heatsinks on the back plate using adhesive thermal padding.

While I'm sure water cooling on the back-side of the card doesn't hurt, is the backplate really a limiting factor when it comes to cooling/over-clocking a card? I'm not saying it isn't, but I'd like more evidence before spending money on something that might be more of a placebo effect, especially when it's cheap to add passive heat-sinks.
I've done it with low profile heatsinks on a couple of laptops - worked well, and did have an impact.

I didn't mind the "flip up" display feature until I saw the backplate. It seems ugly and cheap. Now I think the backplate is ugly and cheap because some of the cost got diverted to the flip up display.
The backplate and OLED screen would have been nicer as an accessory and separate part#. It would have been nice to save a bit of money there, or instead get an actively cooled backplate.

Couldn't one just throw them a massive offer (on say a throwaway account) and then just not pay?
Yes they could, but one could, hypothetically (and obviously I would never violate the ebay terms of service), set up a program to create hundreds of new accounts from different IP addresses, and then search for and place massive bids on every RTX 3070/3080/3090 it finds, all with different accounts.

Hmm, ya, I just did the math, and I figure and FTW3 Ultra and Optimus block would probably run me $3,100 CAD, which is roughly $2,400 US, so very much in KPE HC territory, as far as price goes.
