Thanks, eg.

I live close to their warehouse, so paying for quicker shipping isn't really needed on my part.

Hopefully they'll cover shipping this time, as they shipped me a .1 rev when I asked them not to.

Your welcome and yes if I lived that close I would go for the cheapest advanced RMA. Also, I agree that they should cover shipping both ways this time since it was their mistake.

Just recieved my card and it is what appears to be a new in box revision card (havent tested it yet) , only problem, they didn't send a return label lol.

You're (we're) on the hook for mailing ours back.. cost me $45 to ship via USPS with insurance.. and here I am a week later having to pay it again, because they sent me a .1 rev card. GRRRRR

I've emailed them asking to give me a label, but in the RMA email it does say we have to pay to get our card to them in one piece.

Nope Mine was using the Advanced Cross Ship RMA. They were replacing one that they sent me the wrong card for. i have contacted to them so they send me a return label.

I emailed them on Friday and heard back yesterday, but it was pretty late on Friday. From what I've seen they tend to respond within a few hours.

Well, on my third 3090 ftw3 now. First one got the red light of death ($70ish to send it to them for RMA), second one had the severe power balancing issue (another $70ish to RMA that one). This third one the slot power is fixed but the #3 power is still 50-60 watts behind the #1 & 2, meaning I'm not getting 500w on the OC bios. Hate to say it, but spending ~$2k on a single piece of hardware and having to shell out almost another $150 for issues that are not my fault is really turning me off from EVGA. Someone out there will say "it's only ~30 watts shy, probably won't even notice the difference", but you don't shell out this kind of money for "close enough". Customer service has been great, but it can only help so much when the product itself doesn't deliver. Wish I hadn't already gotten my waterblock for it at this point.

board power draw max: 469.3 watts

slot power max: 65.5 watts
pci #1 max: 148.9 watts
pci #2 max: 153.1 watts
pci #3 max: 101.7 watts

Hello,

Please i'm concerned about the PCI-E draw 80W+ with FTW3 Ultra and the bad powerbalacing issue.
I'm living in France, please could you tell me what to do to RMA it ?
What is the process ?

Thanks !

This is why I do the advanced RMA. The overnight one is around $45 and it includes return label.

The email we got explicitly says that Advanced RMA is not available. Did that change?

Cross ship is not available. Advanced RMA (the one you can purchase when you register card) is and it includes a return label.

My revised board gets here on Friday. I will post back verifying that it is the V2 GPU.
My SN starts with 2114.

This has been a bit of a road, but I am impressed with EVAG that they are making this right.
Not sure there are other companies that would be doing this.
Bravo EVGA.

I have an EU RMA heading my way currently.
The parcel was sent from Germany to the UK with DHL, then changed to Parcelforce.
Should I expect to pay customs charges?
Any UK-based bros here care to share their EU RMA experience?

Is the 3090 FTW3 Ultry Hybrid also impacted by the load balancing and low power draw issues? Or are those new revised PCBs since the card was released later?

edit: oh well, should've just read the previous page... already answered my own question :)

It depends on when you got the card. Check for a revision number on the card if it's 1.0 it's the revised card. 0.1 it's the original card. 0.1 will have the power balance issue.

You can also run a stress test or benchmark and have gpuz running in the background to see the max power draw. For example even though I was on the 500w bios my card was barely pulling 400w. Sometimes it could go up to 420w but that was rare.

Cool. Some people are having a hard time with cross ship unless they have an advanced RMA. The initial email also makes it seem as cross ship is not possible. Glad they are doing it for people without an advanced RMA.

Did you purchase the advanced RMA when you registered the card? I did not, and the email I received explicitly states that it's not available (see below).

Re: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 XOC BIOS BETA 2021/05/19 07:47:02 (permalink)
I "technically" have the issue after sporadic monitoring here and there, plus I got my card last December. so I know it's an older revision.  But honestly, it clocks really well and has been a solid card for me for 6 months now.  Not sure it is worth the hassle and cost for "possibly" a few extra benchmark points or lower PCIe power draw.  I think I can live with ~78W on the PCIe slot and be just fine.  I highly doubt that is going to hurt anything on the motherboard or GPU PCB.  Plus like anything; you're entered back into the silicon lottery for overclocking and this card OC's quite well for me in games and benchmarks.

Even though the issue is probably hardware related as has been eluded to; somehow when I got the Resizeable BAR XOC bios (500W) through Precision X1 a month or so ago, I am able to hit extremely close to 500W now with less PCIe power draw than before.  This was my GPUz after about 2+ hours of BFV with the power slider maxed out for 500W.

Yeah if mine looked like that I'd keep it. No reason to swap out as you are getting close to the 500w.

Re: EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 FTW3 XOC BIOS BETA 2021/05/19 09:37:32 (permalink)
my eVGA FTW3 experience so far:
  1. 2014133987821524 - good working card - 14055 Port Royal Score - but failed to perform above 420 Watt - not to mention 500W
  2. 2112933987820135 - excellent performing card - 15208 Port Royal Score - reached 500W with Kingpin Bios - but dead after 2 weeks.
  3. 2119133987600104 - miserable piece of junk - 13307 Port Royal Score - failed even to reach 420 watt, absolute garbage.

I'm writing to gamernexus and other sides ... I'm also done with this product.
This product line is a total failure.
I hope with next 4000er generation things will be better for eVGA.

Please could you help and say me if my card is able to be replaced with the special program ?

I have 80W power draw using the XOC bios and never reach the 500W.
Perfcap reason say all the time pwr limited.
My card is giving 14K with XOC at 3DMark.

I'm using the XOC 500W rebar

PS : I'm speaking with poeple using 3090 Strix ASUS, they have 43W on PCI-E in gaming ... and very stable freq not like me

my eVGA FTW3 experience so far:
  1. 2014133987821524 - good working card - 14055 Port Royal Score - but failed to perform above 420 Watt - not to mention 500W
  2. 2112933987820135 - excellent performing card - 15208 Port Royal Score - reached 500W with Kingpin Bios - but dead after 2 weeks.
  3. 2119133987600104 - miserable piece of junk - 13307 Port Royal Score - failed even to reach 420 watt, absolute garbage.

I'm writing to gamernexus and other sides ... I'm also done with this product.
This product line is a total failure.
I hope with next 4000er generation things will be better for eVGA.

Did you get the third card from the 3090OC RMA program, or normal RMA?

Don't bother... you could end up with a lower performing card.  If you've got a decent motherboard that has additional power, I wouldn't worry.

PS : I'm speaking with poeple using 3090 Strix ASUS, they have 43W on PCI-E in gaming ... and very stable freq not like me

the special program is for power balancing issues.  not for hitting 500w.

It appears your card seems to be quite balanced between the 3 12v inputs, but is a bit high on the PCIe draw... You may be able to go through the standard RMA process (via support) for this concern.
