So they haven't confirmed what "work with you means yet" but I just had this back in a reply from them

" If you purchased an EAR for you card, we may be able to work with you on getting something done for you"

This was in relation to me asking if I could have the rma advanced cross shipped.

Now I'm not guaranteeing that will be the case for everyone but it appears that they are at least trying to make it right .

... if they won't cross ship I'm not doing it, ridiculous that a company of evga's size and wealth can't cross ship cards to make up for their poor pcb design.

I saw a message on Facebook from EVGA Germany last week or so.
 
 
Seems like people are abusing the Advanced Warranty by keeping the card they are supposed to send back.
 
That might be the reason for this.

If you don't send your old card back within 30 days, evga blackflags both SN's of the cards, so you won't get any more RMA's or others services on both cards.

Hello folks,
just got my RMA number as well.
Current status waiting for approval

I wonder what B2 suffix means... original card is KR with transferable warranty. 
Good news is that "3982" means revised PCB so hopefully no more power issues.
will keep you posted about my status.

Is that verified? I'm going from a 3987-KR to a 3982-B2 as well.

@JThomas1215 could you please confirm if on your RMA was also B2 tag... as you mentioned that you have got brand NEW box does it hold KR or B2 TAG? Also could you please post whoto of back of the card?

There should be 4 BIG and plenty litle in the midle (not sure how they are called) the small ones are especialy important to mitigate power noise.

It's most likely their internal designation for the revised board. When you get it it will be the same part number as usual and will be correct on your warranty/product page.

But honestly no. The instability issue that occurred just after release has been fixed by drivers and as far as I'm aware, the newer drivers give you higher and more stable clock's (if the card is not suffering from a cheap power regulation like most of our cards do)

I am receiving my replacement card on Friday. 
Did you all get the confirmed part number when you were notified that it was shipping? 
 
The email I received from UPS gives the "old" part number: 24G-P5-3987-KR
I am concerned that I am receiving a card with the same issue.

Yes the part number for my RMA was different (24G-P5-3982-B2) on the web site but I received a serial 2114 card part number 24G-P5-3987-KR same as the one I am sending in. I think it's just an internal thing for them to know its part of the special OC RMA program. My new card most definitely has 4 poscaps and 20 (I believe) MLCC caps in the center. So you should still be getting part number 24G-P5-3987-KR but as a Version 2 I'd suspect. That way they are sure not to send out a card with the same issue to someone that knows about it or will notice it... Sounds a little shady, but who knows.

well 3982 board is different from 3987... I have seen peoples in this forum who get V2 cards (3982) which have special BIOS as well... so really I do hope that at least it will not be some joke from EVGA part.
but if the power issue is fixed well...
BTW what BIOS version the NEW card have?

I guess only that that 3982 is NEW V2 card which should have been problem free (hopefully :-))

Throwing my name in the ring. Sent my card back via 3090OC email. They received today and it says they are shipping out the 3982-B2. Will report back once received.
