badass1982 Quick question for you guys. Are you replying directly to the special RMA email you are getting and are u getting replies to that email?
I'm back and forth with the special RMA email chain. An RMA is now showing up on my product page as well.

badass1982 Well that was quick they replied straight away to my Gmail email but replied with the generic no cross ship email that a lot of u have reported , I have replied asking them if they can honor it considering I have already purchased the advanced rma but we will see. I'm not expecting them too.
I think you will be able to use the EAR if you purchased it within the time period (30 Days), and are in the US. So for anyone late to the game, it seems like if you aren't using Gmail that your emails may not be making it through. This may not be the case for everyone, but it was for badass1982. I used my Gmail initially and had a response within a couple hours, so I can only attest to Gmail working and nothing else. But just an FYI for everyone waiting a while for a response.

So they haven't confirmed what "work with you means yet" but I just had this back in a reply from them
" If you purchased an EAR for you card, we may be able to work with you on getting something done for you"
This was in relation to me asking if I could have the rma advanced cross shipped.
Now I'm not guaranteeing that will be the case for everyone but it appears that they are at least trying to make it right .

I sent the first email to 3090OC @ evga . com. They then responded to that message from the email address pmteamadmin @ evga . com. So all of the back and forth replies went to and from the pmteamadmin email, and only the first went to the 3090OC address. Was this the case for anyone else?

Hello folks, just got my RMA number as well. Current status waiting for approval I wonder what B2 suffix means... original card is KR with transferable warranty. Good news is that " 3982" means revised PCB so hopefully no more power issues. will keep you posted about my status. br Tomas

badass1982 ... if they won't cross ship I'm not doing it, ridiculous that a company of evga's size and wealth can't cross ship cards to make up for their poor pcb design.
I saw a message on Facebook from EVGA Germany last week or so. Seems like people are abusing the Advanced Warranty by keeping the card they are supposed to send back. That might be the reason for this. In short the text says: If you don't send your old card back within 30 days, evga blackflags both SN's of the cards, so you won't get any more RMA's or others services on both cards. Bad news for people buying 3090's from any marketplace

Is that verified? I'm going from a 3987-KR to a 3982-B2 as well.

yep "3982" is also caled as V2 and has even diferent BIOS thus those on this topic are not applicable to card. :-) I realy do hope it will be approved.

Also could you please post whoto of back of the card? Specialy this part There should be 4 BIG and plenty litle in the midle (not sure how they are called) the small ones are especialy important to mitigate power noise. kind regards Tomas

badass1982 Interesting because B2 isnt on the warranty page, unless I'm blind. https://www.evga.com/warranty/graphics-cards/
yep... I guess it is internal marking and on the BOX should be KR thus my question to those who have already 3090OC program card.

It's most likely their internal designation for the revised board. When you get it it will be the same part number as usual and will be correct on your warranty/product page.

They need to cheap out somewhere🙈. But honestly no. The instability issue that occurred just after release has been fixed by drivers and as far as I'm aware, the newer drivers give you higher and more stable clock's (if the card is not suffering from a cheap power regulation like most of our cards do)

do they? the screen I posted is probably not acurate as 3987 does not have all of them and should not have it. that would violate NVIDIA design and even ASUS admited that it was NO GO. here is picture of 3987 (I do expect that 3982 should follow same spec)

Hello All, I am receiving my replacement card on Friday. Did you all get the confirmed part number when you were notified that it was shipping? The email I received from UPS gives the "old" part number: 24G-P5-3987-KR I am concerned that I am receiving a card with the same issue. Thank you all! -Jason

yes that is OLD PCB... does your RMA page state 3987 or 3982-B2. we do have it in RMA details as part out as is visible on the post #6248. also did you get RMA via portal or via 3090OC@evga.com program? Edit: we or at least I am still waiting for approval but I see what part was requested to ship out. (really do hope it will not be changed by EU EVGA)

Yes the part number for my RMA was different (24G-P5-3982-B2) on the web site but I received a serial 2114 card part number 24G-P5-3987-KR same as the one I am sending in. I think it's just an internal thing for them to know its part of the special OC RMA program. My new card most definitely has 4 poscaps and 20 (I believe) MLCC caps in the center. So you should still be getting part number 24G-P5-3987-KR but as a Version 2 I'd suspect. That way they are sure not to send out a card with the same issue to someone that knows about it or will notice it... Sounds a little shady, but who knows.

Hello All, I just spoke with EVGA Customer Support and he did state that the "3982-B2" was an internal part number, and the customer part number would not change. He also stated that they were no longer shipping any of the old version of the cards and if I had replaced the card through the 3090OC@evga.com email then I would be getting a v2 card. He also said I could contact them again after I got the card if I had additional questions after I receive the card. I will report back on Friday after I get the card. -J

well 3982 board is different from 3987... I have seen peoples in this forum who get V2 cards (3982) which have special BIOS as well... so really I do hope that at least it will not be some joke from EVGA part. but if the power issue is fixed well... BTW what BIOS version the NEW card have?
