No advanced RMA!. So if we purchased the advanced RMA when we registered our cards they won't honor it? That's some bad service there.
I asked that on the reply. I purchased the Advanced RMA with the Saturday option. If they didn't honor that in this case, I'll be really pissed.
I understand if they don't want to do cross ship on the cards for people without an advanced RMA. But for those that purchased the Advanced RMA I feel that they have to honor that. We already paid for a service. Some of us pay for that service for peace of mind and a quick turnaround in case something ever happened. They should not be able to deny that service since that's a service in a per card basis. As far as I know it won't transfer to another card you will have to purchase it again on an RMA card.
They honored my next day air saver advanced RMA. I put the initial email in last Wednesday and got my new card today. There was a delay of a day because I hadn't uploaded the invoice yet... new card shipped yesterday and made it cross country in less than 24 hours. I will ship out my 2014 card tomorrow. So it cost me $44 to buy the EAR for my new 2114 card and I'm ok with that. Shipping was paid both ways and I was able to keep my handicapped card until I got my new one. In my opinion EVGA really stepped up for those of us that were having issues by offering this special RMA. I know a lot of people think they should have done a recall, but I'm hoping they have the issue ironed out and anyone that wants a new card has the option to get one. The other thing I was excited about was my new card has black lips! No more clown lips in my system, and I have a properly functioning card! lol.
That's good that they did the advanced RMA for you. I've read a couple of people posting about them not doing it in the OC rma program. I have a crippled hybrid and waiting for them to come out with the revised versions for it so that I can email them. I also purchased the advanced RMA when I got my card back in December. Just have to wait now.

How the heck did you get that done?! I guess I'll have to wait and see their response. This was from the initial email. "• This offer is limited to Standard RMA, unfortunately Standard Cross Ship RMA is not available for this offer. • Per our standard RMA procedures, EVGA will cover the cost of shipping the replacement item to you. You will still be covering the cost of shipping the item to us. • Per our RMA policy, you will need to return the card in its factory conditions, including reinstalling the original air cooler should you have replaced it with an aftermarket cooler. • EVGA cannot offer an ETA on when the RMA will be approved. Once approved, you will receive an email when it is time to send in your card."

Did some quick testing on my replacement program 2114 card. Pretty happy with the results so far. 470w max draw without any overclock, 66w max on the PCIe slot. Card is no longer seemingly triggering PSU OCP and rebooting the pc. Temps aren't great currently, but the card doesn't have it's water block reinstalled yet, and it has warm/hot rad air from the cpu blowing on it due to my radiator setup in this O11DXL currently. Not really going to push the card any further for another week or so. Got a bunch of parts coming in for my massive Caselabs TH10 rebuild (five 480 rads, 4 in push/pull, 41 Noctua NF-A12x15 fans). Everything is going to transfer over to that case. Its going to be a silly fun build then when I get the water block back on this thing.

I'm getting the same error that some of you have gotten saying "No display adapters were found that are compatible with this update" FTW3 Ultra. Here's my vbios info (94.02.42.C0.05), couldn't seem to find this particular bios anywhere online... what vbios do I have on there now?

LegendOfSomething Thanks for the response, what’s up with the new kingpin 520w bios I’m hearing about? Xc3 bios is still a better solution? Also did evgas original 500w bios get fixed after the latest update?
It's not a bios issue. Revised cards have a different voltage controller. Revision cards are not exactly working with any bios intended for non-revision cards. My experience is the kpe520w offers the best performance on revision cards.
Thanks for the response, makes sense, I should just get a separate fan controller and stick with the xc3 bios then as I do not plan to rma. The best Results I can get that seems to the most minimal amount of throttling across the board for an average of all games I play is running it at 1995mhz @ .950V constant with +700mhz on the memory. Any higher voltage than that causes some heavy throttling in some games from the power limit. 21795 graphics score in time spy.

All I did was inquire about the special RMA. They then contacted me back and asked if I wanted to use my EAR I purchased when I got the card in early October. I said I was good with that since I wouldn't have to be without my card. They setup the RMA, I uploaded my invoice that I had forgotten to do, and my new card shipped yesterday and arrived today. Probably one of the easiest return processes I've been through really! All I said in my first email is I struggled to hit 450w and was concerned about an 87w PCIE bus draw. Done and done. I ship my 2014 card out in the morning! I did have to pay for another EAR on my new card, but just the fact I didn't have to pay for shipping either way more than made up for that imo. Plus I was never down for more than 20 minutes while I swapped it out and did a quick dusting. Not sure if the people having issues using the EAR maybe didn't purchase it within the first 30 days of registration? Not sure... or maybe they've reviewed the policy? Either way it seems like YMMV... may also depend on who you get as a rep? Who knows. All I can say is I am extremely happy with the service they provided me, and with my new card!

JThomas1215 Well I received my new card today. Serial # 2114. What a difference! I am seeing max board draw of 507.8w with only 66.6w on the PCIE bus! That was just with port royal. Haven't ran time spy extreme yet. Before I touch the card overclock wise, I got a 502.3w board draw. This was just with the BIOS switch in the OC position. I am getting much better scores with way lower overclocks now. The chip in my new card doesn't seem to be quite as good as my original 2014 card, but it scores higher and performs better at lower clocks. So all in all I am extremely happy! With my old card I would struggle to get over 450w board draw with 87+w PCIE draw... Hopefully this will ease some minds of people on the fence about doing the special RMA. The BIOS loaded on this card is different than the newest one I flashed to my old card just last week. The new BIOS on the new card is 94.02.42.C0.02. The newest BIOS I loaded on the old card was 94.02.42.80.27.
Did you get a new in retail box card or a refurbished one? I just sent mine off, fingers crossed I get a new one. Seen a couple people get refurbished ones. Although it would probably be fine and still covered under warranty, it would just leave a bad taste in my mouth with how much the cards cost.
Yes it was brand new and sealed in a new retail box. Had all the slot covers and the plastic coverings on everything that I had to peel off just like the first one. I am confident that it's not a refurbished card, but who knows for sure... all I know is I'm hitting the numbers I should now and don't have the clown lips anymore! Definitely more stable in game while overclocked!

MaxTheOwl Can anyone explain to me why the power draw is lower when the card is overclocked? Without an OC I get 464 watts max at PR and with an OC I get max 451 watts.
Also I still can't decied if I want to RMA my card or not. Release Card / XOC BIOS / 180 core / 1325 memory / on air https://www.3dmark.com/pr/1025030
I run my games stable with 135 offset on the core. BF 5 runs, as an example, average between 420 and 430 watts with a max PCI-E slot draw of 80.5 watts. With raytracing enabled the average seems to be a bit higher. I also attached a screenshot of Everspace 2.
What do you guys think?
Thanks.
It is really up to you. Your card runs out of spec on the pcie slot, so you would probably be eligible for special RMA. But ofc your card delivers really good results and the chances are high that you get a worse replacement. I used the special RMA although my old card was able to score 15300 in port royal. At the end of the day it's your decision. You can always RMA the card if it bricks while under warranty but I don't know if evga leaves the special RMA open forever ;-)

I was quite nervous as well but my special RMA worked like a charm. They received my card on Friday and I got my replacement on Thursday one week later. I'm from Germany. Btw I spoke to a person from the support and he told me that they only had like 3 cards left for special RMA. That was 8 days ago.

Thanks. I'm more worried that the card damages something else in my system. The card itself has the extened warranty. EVGA told me that the programm will run for an unforeseeable future. This whole situation with this cards in not optimal.
Agreed, but they are stepping up if you ask me. I knew that they would and I was really never too worried lol. But imo, I think anybody that wants to do this special OC RMA should do it sooner rather that later. My reasoning for that is, get a card while the demand is still high and you are least likely to get any kind of refurb unit. I really just don't think the stock exists yet on these chips, but I could be completely wrong about that. Just my .02.

I'm still waiting for a response from them , I've emailed the "special OC email" a couple times now with screenshots of MSI afterburner, gpu-z (whilst running port royal and Firestrike on the XOC bios) all showing that my pcie slot is pulling over 80watts and my total card draw never hits higher than 407watts, no response yet , seems a bit like they are picking and choosing who they respond too, that or they are getting TONS of special RMA requests. Really hope they grant me one and also honour the advanced RMA that I have purchased.

Well I am secondhand owner got brand NEW card from EBAY sealed box, invoice all the stuff... unfortunately no EAR for secondhand users or for those living in Europe :-/ General availability of those cards is quite a nightmare so EBAY was only option to complete my brand NEW computer. not to mention in CZ EVGA card at ALZA is almost 3800 euro From EBAY it was just 2800 euro even so quite a rocket. really do hope that RMA will get approved soon till it burn down my computer. kind regards Tomas

that RMA response time (3090OC program) is quite slow... as instructed by EVGA representative I have instructed EVGA to start RMA process. But as were stated in first time contact from them there is no ETA when the RMA will be approved or denied which is quite and issue. in EU there are law obligation for issuing RMA both for owner and company in Germany where EU EVGA reside its between 4 and 6 weeks from first day you report issue till its closure. Not to mention we are not talking about some sort of OC issue but about product that operates out of spec as such it could damage rest of the components. As for EVGA representatives I am quite happy as when decide contact me it usually highly professional approach. Hopefully I will hear from them prior anything bad happens. kind regards Tomas

badass1982 I'm still waiting for a response from them , I've emailed the "special OC email" a couple times now with screenshots of MSI afterburner, gpu-z (whilst running port royal and Firestrike on the XOC bios) all showing that my pcie slot is pulling over 80watts and my total card draw never hits higher than 407watts, no response yet , seems a bit like they are picking and choosing who they respond too, that or they are getting TONS of special RMA requests. Really hope they grant me one and also honour the advanced RMA that I have purchased.
Hmmm... That is strange. I wouldn't think that they would be being picky... I am an elite member, so I am unsure if that makes any kind of difference. I am also in the US. So there may be different terms and conditions for different geographic areas? I am purely pulling this out of thin air while brainstorming why I got a response so quickly and others seem not to be. I also didn't send any screen shots with my first email. I was also never asked to send anything after that. I wouldn't think that would have any barring on the response time either though... Are you in the US?

not sure about "badass1982" but I am from Europe. Also I am long time elite member yet there was no response on my email from CZ domain based email. After I send it from gmail (COM) domain I have been contacted within few hours. Either it is just coincidence or there is really something wrong with handling non US card owners. I guess someone from EVGA should make at least some comment on this as this could get pretty ugly... br Tomas

That's a good point. I used Gmail as well. It was like 2 hours for a response. Maybe EVGA's server is having issues with some mail servers? Never really even thought about that. I would hope there wouldn't be a difference in non US claims except maybe for logistics and availability...

Was your RMA already approved or finished? just trying to pinpoint when we NON US owners could be on the turn :-)

I sent the first e-mail last Wednesday and received my new card yesterday. The RMA will be finished once they receive my old card. It was less than 24 hours for approval. Hope that helps.

I'm also and ELITE member (which doesn't mean much other than that you've spend a shed load of cash on EVGA products). I am also in the USA. Interestingly I had sent the email with the screenshots from my cell phone and I sent it from my outlook account (maybe either my phone didn't sent it correctly or they are having issues with certain emails) . Just sent one from my Gmail account . So now all I can to is wait (for them to yell at me and tell me to stop emailing them lol). Thanks for all u guys help I will update if/when they respond.

It will be interesting if it is an e-mail server issue... Interested to see how long it takes for the response to Gmail and if you ever get a response to your outlook account. We may have a bunch of new Gmail accounts being created if that's the case and people don't have one already lol. Good Luck!!

Well that was quick they replied straight away to my Gmail email but replied with the generic no cross ship email that a lot of u have reported , I have replied asking them if they can honor it considering I have already purchased the advanced rma but we will see. I'm not expecting them too.

OK.. looks like they'll honor the EAR purchase and we're good to proceed. It'll be weird having a card that doesn't have a fan rattle too. Two birds, one stone on this RMA.
