Yes i am sure i am on the 1k bios.  like i said, i cap it at 65% so i dont see the high spikes like you do.  15k+ PR score at 200+ GPU and 800+ mem

My Game playing stable is 150+ and 700+. so the highest spike in slot i have ever seen is 100 watt with Time spy extreme.  It averages in the 70s   Only Time spy extreme has hit the 650 watt max on me.  MS  Flight Simulator gets close at 639, Battle field 5 and Cyberpunk tops out at 540 watts.  slot average is low 70's on watts.  Normal gaming doesnt even come close for me to feel that i am over doing it.  I do have the Optimus so i dont fear the heat...  :}

Only way i can game with stability with a higher gpu clock would be to shunt to get more volts to gpu, but why bother.....  Every game i have is at max eye candy setting.  Even FS I am rendering at 8k with no stutter maxed so not worth the effort or the risk.  Dont need 3d mark scores or 100+ frame rates to brag about.  as long i can play at max on my LG 48" OLED is all that matters  And by the time anyone comes out with a game that can actually humble the card i have, it would be time to upgrade to a 4090...  ;)

Will this prevent the problem that is causing the video cards to black out?  I was running completely stock, only nvidia drivers installed, no modification to clocks whatsoever.  I was playing Grand Theft Auto and my screen just suddenly blacked out and the card would no longer initialize.  Red light on PCI-E Power.  I had to have it replaced, I don't know if whatever issue that is happening has been resolved or not in the replacement card I received but I'm scared to try running GTA again.  Would this beta bios help?

Corsair AX1200i and Ryzen 3950X.  Whatever happened bricked the card, it wouldn't work in any other system.

So I put the xc3 ultra hybrid bios on my ftw3 ultra and now I can’t flash back to the original bios. Any suggestions?

Post 3215 has instructions on how to flash it back using nvflash. If you didn't save the original VBIOS - https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?architecture=&manufacturer=EVGA&model=&interface=&memType=GDDR6X&memSize=24576&since=

arestavo you still using XC3 Ultra BIOS on your FTW3 Ultra? On Techpowerup database are 2 XC3 Ultra BIOS, a newer one.

this one i've been using since i have the card: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/225493/evga-rtx3090-24576-200902
and this seems a new one not sure if it's better or the same: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/227149/evga-rtx3090-24576-201013

Did you try this last one?

I noticed that it is a relatively common issues among RTX3090 cards, including my previous RTX3090 ftw3 ultra. Underclocking the core frequency may help to avoid killing your card.

didnt they just announce a recall on that PSU?  i have the 1600 watt version.  i would use gpu z to see if you have a voltage drop on any of the 12v feeds.  set the sensors to report minimums and game with that just to make sure your not over amping the the lines.  Also when i put on my water block, i noticed a REALLY bad paste job on the gpu and the pads were hard crap on the memory and vrms.  u may want to repaste and re pad with some fuji pads.  I used liquid metal on the gpu, just be carefull if u decide to do that because it conducts.  I put strips of electrical tape on the gpu to protect the resistors that are exposed on the outside of the die. otherwise use kryonought

that means theres a heat issue somewhere.  See my last post.  The board itself gets really warm too.  It may be a bad soldering job somewhere causing a short.

Nice score with your "unobtanium CPU" 👍

At some point, I might get one myself.

Impressive to see the development in cpu tech over the last 7 Years🤣

This is not my best run, but my best Grafics score. Can't remember, if that's with the stock or XOC BIOS.

You will get one of those "unobtainable" CPUs, keep trying and you will have one !

Thanks and nice graphics score too on your side buddy !

Graphics score usually is a lot lower than this. But I haven't tried a lot of runs because of pcie draw out of my comfort zone.

I keep looking for the 5900x or 5950x, but I might skip this generation because as far as I know, it's the last cpu on the "old" AM4 Socket. I don't want to end up again with an "end of life" mainboard after 2 years.

And in gaming there is really not a whole lot of difference. (predicted Battlefield V fps for me is +190)

Also would love to know how many of those people had already weak boards.    I  have went through an RMA for single light failure where card wouldn't post.     Also had an RMA for excessive PCI-E draw and horrendously power limited card. .      If I had 1000 watt bios tested my first,  I would be reporting falsely that it fried my card.

I don't have any evidence of cards dying. But stressing any component over intended levels will defenetly cause higher wear on it.

Personally I would never try a Bios, that's not designed for the Card because I usually keep my Components for some Time

I read that info in other forum, but me i try it 1 hour and saw what this thing can do.

Some of you dont realize about 500W in a graphic card is already verry high, in the past did you saw a graphic card running with 650W of power ?

1080 ti oc at max wont pass the 300W and 2080ti 350W maybe 400W but more then 600W !  I saw 688W when i tried that bios, ya i can drop down the slider, but i need always play with those setting to be safe, more if i do bech, less if i watch movie, bit more if i play game lol. I want put 1 setting and iam good to go, the day you will forget something can be the last day or ur card.

I really dont understand what you will gain with that bios if you dont do contest for world record. Kingpin itself already killed rtx-3090 but he dosent post it here lol.
I saw someone show video on youtube on how shunt mod is card and after is card die ! He dosent talk about it and i wont say who is he but its true but the video is great hehehe.

You do what you want with ur card and some dont mind about this and they can buy 10 rtx-3090 and didnt notice that in the bank account.

this doesn't void the warranty right?

As stated in this thread many times - the 1000W VBIOS voids the warranty for a kingpin, why wouldn't it for a FTW3? It removes the protections put in place with a stock VBIOS that prevents the card for killing itself (thermal limits as an example) - the card will go until it dies.

I'm on the original XC3 Ultra VBIOS still. I looked at both, and they are different VBIOS revisions yet they look to be the same, with one being a slightly newer date. At this point it doesn't matter much to me as I am waiting for a VBIOS update that enables BAR support.

By that same logic though,  you technically voided your warranty putting the xc3 bios on your FTW Ultra.

One is 2 pin and the other is 3 pin,   I assure you there are firmware differences for power delivery.    If you can swap this and still get warranty replacements,  I'd say you probably can do 1000w bios as well.

I'd argue the former and assume either would give EVGA a solid excuse to tell you to go up a creek.

Not really. Post 3215 has the explanation, but I'll repeat it (yet again):

It is not an unlocked VBIOS (there are limits, thermal and power, still in place), so it should not void any warranties like the kingpin 1000W "unlocked" VBIOS and because the FTW3 is a dual VBIOS card per the GPU warranty.

The link, which is to the GPU warranty section of EVGA.com (US & Canada, other countries may be different), has this listed:
  • Unauthorized changes to the BIOS or Firmware on Products that do not have a Multiple BIOS option may cause this warranty to be null and void
Emphasis mine there.

Not really. Post 3215 has the explanation, but I'll repeat it (yet again):

Honestly,  from reading some of your other posts,  it seems you kinda just believe whatever you want to believe out of a given set of "words". lol      I love how you're just taking warranty agreements that I'm sure you didn't read, make assumptions, and then are spewing them out on a forum as fact.     Couple that with the fact you kinda act like the "unofficial forum police"   pointing out TOS rules and stuff,  you really don't come across as someone I foresee most listening to or respecting with your combative/condescending and/or defensive tone.

You made an unauthorized change by putting an unsupported BIOS on your product.  Just because multiple bios options are available doesn't mean I can just sift through the library of potential firmware for different model cards and apply at will.

I think at some point you may have gotten some sense that making 6000 posts on a forum gives you some kind of credibility...  trust us when we say it only makes us question your life choices :P     By friendly comparison we can't even have the EVGA moderators trusted here to provide accurate information as they aren't even EVGA employees themselves,  just volunteers which is VERY troubling as I worry you'd be someday considered by living on the forums all day.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, yet I don't get why you have such a hard on for trying to prove me wrong. If you want to prove me wrong, put the Kingpin VBIOS on your card and blow it up - RMA it and see what happens.

I'll be just fine on the power and thermal limited XC3 VBIOS. And FWIW, I'm on a night shift atm enjoying time off before work - if that's important to you since you think I live here :)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.   It seems there is a lot of "opinions" on whether or not what you're talking about would be covered.   I  personally wouldn't trust the "opinion" of a dude on forums with my 1800 dollar product.   You should be more responsible in providing advice as you're not an EVGA employee nor are you going to eat the cost of someones bricked card should a warranty claim be denied.

We can VERY clearly see here just from the PCI-E power draw argument,   there is a lot of conflicting information on this.  I had a lower level EVGA rep before getting escalated trying to detour me from getting a replacement as 85 watts from PCI-e slot is just fine and dandy etc.    I personally have been in the field for 20+ years and know to never trust the information of a 1st level phone operator anymore than a random name on the internet and others should follow the same logic.

If you or ANYONE else is planning on putting a bios from a different model number on your product,  I would get an email from EVGA stating you will not lose your warranty for doing so.  Otherwise,  you're at risk to send back your card,  and just get charged the RMA cost of the 1800 dollar graphics card.      I would hope EVGA wouldn't do that to someone but ultimately if you put a bios for a 2 pin 3090,   on your 3 pin and it bricks, without that email you ARE taking risk as all they have to do is deny the warranty.

Delirious,  you are NOT an official employee of EVGA.  I would kindly ask you not to touch my posts without getting confirmation from ACTUAL employees of EVGA.  Last time I felt my posts were being censored I had to call support, get to a supervisor and have them reinstated.
