rgarodnick Yep. Same issue here. Can never pull above 430-440w with the xoc bios but can pull 455w with the OC stock bios and that's with a Seasonic Prime 1300 titanium. I have a corsair hx 1200 also as a spare but I seriously doubt it's the power supply...right? My Seasonic is barely a year old.
I have the hx1200i and exaxtly the same situation. It pulls 430w but never above that. with regular BIOS 449w. It's not the PSU.

You saved me a couple of hours. Thanks. So, what are we doing wrong? Or do we just have duds?
My concern is this is already after an RMA. Both cards exhibited this behavior so I assumed it was something wrong with my setup..

Spent like 6 hours today testing/trying to fix the card, no luck for now... still getting max 450W on XOC with spikes to 472W. I did same things as Notchy however I suspect theres just unknown variable we dont know about thats causing this mayhem.

You're spiking to 472w at least. I can't even spike (gpu-z max) beyond 440w or so. While the stock oc bios spikes to 454w..so I'm really confused

Which games/benchmarks do you use? I cannot get my card over 440w. I played three missions in COD in 4k and my max was 421w. Before that i ran Superposition Bench and had 449w. BIOS is 94.02.26.48F7. PSU is set to Single OCP. Maybe there are "premium-ftw3-ultras" around, which can pull up to 500w...but not every of them. At least I have no crashes and the Boost-clock remains around 2000mhz. :)

I tested port royal, cod, and even furmark (donut). None of them pull anywhere close to 500w even as a peak.

Im sure there are no premium ultras, for now we suspect that culprit might be firmware update u get when u start PX1 for first time, thats the only difference we noticed. Im using kombustor/3Dmark for testing.

I wonder if cards after a certain production date have a better chance of hitting close to 500 watts? I have the 500W XOC BIOS on this card and I'm averaging 470+ average watts in Furmark and getting 460+ watts average in Quake II RTX

Did u update firmware with 500w already flashed, or with stock bios ?

Mine exhibits the same behavior. Highest peak I saw was 470 but sits at 440 for the most part.

When I first installed the card, PX1 said it was updating firmware when I still had the stock 450W BIOS. I assumed that was for the lighting controller. I flashed the 500W XOC BIOS on the card after I had the card for a few days. Another thing I noticed is when the GPU warms up above 75C, the average power draw decreases.

I got my FTW3 a couple weeks ago. I had read about the issues with the XOC bios for lots of people. I tried the stock bios on both settings, normal, and OC, maxed out around 420 watts. I never went near PX1, just using AB. Then I flashed the OC bios with the F8 XOC 500 watt bios, still no difference in wattage. Then I finally tried PX1 , did the FW update and still no difference.

how long did you have that test running for before that? just curious i dont' like leaving furmark running long. but i never got those values...464 max
Iv let it run for 30 min but that test was short, Doesnt matter how long I let it run for the avg is always the same 499. This test does stress the cooling but never goes above 75c with maxed out fans. Port Royal avg is 62c maxed fans 495w+ avg
tested it for another minute or two. max peaks of 471 W, with it immediately jumping back down to 440-450. rinse repeeat.
What is your power supply setup? how old is it? Also are you using 3 full pci-E 8 pins? Just hard to believe after 2 cards that I have personally installed in 2 completely different builds worked perfectly fine.
Man allooott of people are having problems not just me, it's a 1000w supernova evga power supply from last march, yeah it's 3 separate 8 pins.
No I get it, just crazy that some can work and some dont. How old is your card? Mine is 2 weeks old directly from EVGA. I know we have checked the revisions already and they match but maybe they stealth changed something?
All it takes is one component somewhere soldered or some resistor and then the card will run at 85W PCIE rather than 75W. In your screenshot, you didn't show us the important info. What was the max wattages on the 8 pins and pcie slot? Showing us total board power doesn't help. Because total board power *is* the 8 pins+PCIE slot added. See?

Well I can see your problem.... this is a oc bios and you have 0 overclock. Turn the core up to 150+ and mem up 850+ and I’m sure you will see a much higher average.

I'm sorry for being rude, but your screenshot was postage size stamped. Impossible to read anything. https://i.ibb.co/mv85YgL/Card-power-and-info.png That's your screenshot. See? It's unreadable. That link is actually a 640x480 resolution link. Someone on a 4k monitor is going to have a field day with that. Please use "IMGUR" next time, upload them there then post a "direct link" to the full sized screenshot. These problems always happenn when people use weird websites for images. Also your video didn't have 8 pin#3 showing. That is a 3 pin card right? But we can just subtract the board power draw from the known values. Your PCIE does indeed have an 85W limit rather than 75W the affected cards have. Your power values then are 138W+156W+131W + 78.5W. = 503W. This is what we needed.
