I've had my 3090 hybrid for a while now and the vbios have been fully updated via precision x1. As I understand, the Bios 1 switch has the regular hybrid bios and the Bios 2 switch only has a different fan curve on it. So if I wanted the 500w Bios 2 (OC) on Bios 2 I would just have to flip the switch and install them. Is that it or would I have to flash the Bios 1 (Normal) on Bios 1 as well? Thanks in advance.

Apologies if this has already been answered. But is the special RMA available in Europe now?

The situation with the RMA replacement cards becomes worst and worst...

Considering the bad cards some users got in replacement of their power limited 3090 FTW3 Ultra (see posts above in the previous pages), I have kindly requested a cross shipment RMA to make sure I do not get a card that is worst than my current one (that is quite bad and higly power limited as it never goes above 98% even with a setting to 119%). EVGA seems not to accept such a cross shipment RMA for this program (?). WHY ?
It is clear to me they are not confident AT ALL in the performances of the replacement cards and my feeling is that the situation will become quite critical for them shortly as people cannot accept to get a worst card in an RMA...
EVGA needs absolutely to make the things clear once for all with this HW problem and to sort it out PROPERLY with their customers.
I am still waiting for a fair proposal from their side.

I am waiting now for over two weeks for a reply to my email...

Flash it back to the air cooled version manually using NVflash and the VBIOS that you saved before updating to the Hybrid version, or that you downloaded from TechPowerUp.

Hard to follow this huge thread. I didn’t see anything besides the GA 102 250 die. Is there a new voltage controller?

Could someone who got the RMA OC 3090 FTW3 Ultra board post the GPU-Z screen capture ?

I would be very interested to see the GPU Default Clock Boost value ...

My original 3090 FTW3 Ultra shows : Boost Default 1800 MHz.

Thanks!

I'm finally happy with my replacement card from the OC3090 program. I'm not sure what's up with the pre loaded 500w bios they put on these things but it's junk, only getting me to 460w or so. I loaded up the old 500w bios and it's working great now. I tried the 520w kingpin bios and that also works great but it makes the middle fan run slower since it's for a hybrid card.

My old card wasn't a great overclocker and unfortunately this one isn't really better. It does hold clocks better though in demanding applications and I can get a better PR score.

I don't understand why they made a new bios for these things if it doesn't actually solve the problem. At least I was able to fix it.

I thought the old bios are incompatible with the new cards?
Are you sure you did get a new one?
Some people in this thread reported they did get an used card back :(

My RMA card was brand new in the box. I know it was a revised card because it had the newer bios on it and I got the unknown hardware achievement in 3Dmark.

That doesn't tell you much. You need to have the sensors tab open and pay attention to the board power while running a port royal or time spy benchmark.

Just picked up a FTW3 on friday, and I am having helluva time getting the card to hit 500W+ stress testing.
Got is dialed in all the way to 119 on the OC bios, 100% usage in tests and it mostly hovers around ~470W.

My card also showed up with a Pre December BIOS.
Had trouble getting it updated to current bios, had to re-flash it with old bios first and only then could I update.
Reading all the posts it seems like the FTW3 is a bit of a mess.

Not horrible for the wattage. What is the PCIe wattage though during the same load?

Doesn't exceed 65W.

I also noticed that PIN 3 power doesn't exceed 115W, that is the absolute max.

At around 470W the board starts complaining that it's performance limitation is power.
I thought these are supposed to hit 500W?

Pretty rare to actually hit 500. I was able to hit 500 using the kingpin 520w BIOS but that overclock hasn't been stable enough to get a good benchmark yet.

Thats a correctly working card if it hovers around 470w.

Yeah I'm looking at that bios as well, card it being power limited right now.
I noticed some hotspots in the 95 degrees range on the card during benching as well.
So I don't think I will get more out of if until I cool it properly.
Water block should be here in a couple weeks.

What kind of OC do you speculate you can get on that Kingpin bios?

Just flowed my card and hit the OC switch. X1 updated the bios after next boot under the re-bar tab. Is it an intelligent update as it installed the oc bios, or did it just update that to the lastest base bios and the oc will require a manual update?

Thanks for any answers

***edit*** It did not load the oc firmware, I had to do it after manually. So that answers my question haha. Now if only I didn't have this power balancing issue, I'd be super happy.
