Mine averages about 77-78 on the stock OC BIOS and OC applied. What do you think? I think I have not a bad card. This was my last Port Royal score.

You think you have a bad card? No, it appears to be the opposite.

I said "I think I have NOT a bad card". Only the average PCI-E draw worries me a bit.

Interesting way of wording it.

But that's overclocked. Set it to default speeds and test again - you'll likely see under 75W average. With overclocking you shouldn't be surprised to see things go out of spec - it's when they are out of spec when stock where that becomes the buyer's choice to accept it or not.

Maybe. Not my native language ;) So, you say it is fine. I really don't want to RMA the card.

I understand. On default my average power draw is 360 watts with a pci-e average of 67 watts. With max power target average power draw is 440 watts +- and pci-e average 76.5 +-

Well, it is technically a little out of spec. Not by a lot, and not nearly as much as mine. If you have supplemental PCIE power plugged into the motherboard, I wouldn't sweat it at all and enjoy the heck out of it (even when overclocked).

May board has no supplemental PCI-E power. It is a Z490. Hmmmm....I really don't know what to do right now. Guess I'm getting in touch with the support. I really, rellay dont't want to RMA. The card clocks so well.

You won't need a supplemental PCIE power connector on a Z490 board unless you are using multiple high wattage PCIE cards.  A video card pulling 100W through the slot and a 1x PCIE soundcard is no problem whatsoever.  The PCIE supplemental connector is for ALL PCIE slot power sources.  It does *NOT* increase power allowance to the slot itself.  It simply takes off the load off the 12v supply coming from the 24 pin connector.

I have a 20141 Taiwan board 3090 ftw3 ultra gaming. Im not reaching 500w. My highest is 449 raising only power limit and temp limit in x1.
I noticed that pcie power is reaching 78w. and the max my 3 8pin are pulling is around 130. Did I read correctly if the pcie power gets about 75w it limits the others?

Wait bios release if any day it come or not?

If u rly want raw performance, flashing XC3 bios onto FTW3 will unleash high power limit.

The RMA card is a 20141 from Taiwan, over 800 higher on the S/N. Still limited to ~440W average on the XOC VBIOS, but stock OC VBIOS or XOC VBIOS overclocked, I'm not getting nearly the same PCIE power draw. I've seen a spike of 80, and it usually averages 76 or 77 stock - which is loads better than the 82 that I was seeing.

Even overclocked it's drawing less than my old Taiwanese card. So, I'm guessing that PCIE slot power draw might not THE limiting factor. It may still be one, but it's not the only one.

So the same power draw as mine with the stock oc bios. I don't know if I should try the XOC bios. I guess it is also doing nothing for me.
My highest spike on the stock oc bios was 473 watts a few minutes ago.

Stock OC VBIOS shouldn't average more than around 450W (yes, spikes can be higher), as it's a 450W VBIOS. The XOC VBIOS is a 500W VBIOS.

Man it sounds pretty bleak in terms of RMA fixing XOC BIOS at the moment, either it’s a hardware issue that’s not yet been addressed so we’re swapping cards for identical cards. Or it can somehow be fixed with an updated bios. How’s the silicon? Port royal overclock score? Also did it come with red or black accents

It's a refurb, red lips and light scratches. With the stock OC or XOC VBIOS, it performs just about like my old card in port royal. 14268 with an overclock on the XOC VBIOS with out going ham (clean boot, etc.). Old card maxed at 14233 and it took a long time to finally get that score (XOC VBIOS IIRC).

Overclocking seems to be better overall on core and VRAM. Not massively different on the XC3 VBIOS, but a bit more. Testing with the lighter DX Raytracing Feature Test right now to see where the utter top clocks line up. Seems to be about 2190MHz (2177 average) on the core, which is ~50MHz higher than the old card. VRAM seems to top out around +1150, old card topped out around +800. I actually get a computer restart at +1400 (old card did that at +1000).

So, I did get lucky with a higher overclocking card it seems - but the PCIE slot power draw is quite a bit lower, which was my biggest concern and the reason for my RMA (even if the 500W XOC VBIOS is still a dud).

Edit: new Port Royal top score for me with the XC3 Ultra VBIOS. 14809, just about 300 points higher than the old card (again not really that much)).

mine it's very good silicon, can run super higher Core and MEM but you will see it will start going down when you use 3DMark or other hungry benches, not so much on Games unless you test METRO EXODUS on Extreme Settings with RTX Ultra, I can Game there at 2070+ and 11002 MEM. What is interesting that my card undervolts very well, for ex 1890 with 0.85 and 10750 MEM, that way runs super cool on Air and FPS are very good still.

I have an ASRock X299 OCF with a 7980XE@ 4.8GHz 18C/18TH that I run daily at 1.385V with Direct Die Contact and when I bench I can push it to 5.0GHz to 5.1GHz depending on the Bench. I've pushed my EVGA RTX 2080TI KINGPIN on Water to the limit and now the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra Gaming the same on Air Stock with XOC BIOS NO MODS at all, and never had an issue.

This card is limited no matter what and I highly doubt that can be fixed via a new BIOS for that reason Jacob said "near future" so I'm guessing that "If" they make another will be another batch. Personally I don't like modding it to get some extra points on 3DMark or other benches, I would to get the max out of it gamming, so far I'm rusty on electronic mods and didn't find a good guide to mod, but  I can do it just saw a lot of different resistors used (Frame Chasers, Gamers Nexus, Bearded Hardware) so I won't touch it till there's a solution or when the waterblocks come in stock, because those mods are for water not for air. And about what happens to the PCIe Draw after the mods I know that if your motherboard has a molex for the PCIe it will draw from there and not from the 24 Pin which is good not to load the PCB traces in such a way. We overclockers use to do this long time ago on the boards that had it.

Cheers, Sergio.

Not enough testing regarding games for now, in general XC3 should have better perf.

Hello everyone, today i received my ftw.So far it seems crappy (story of my life). I can do +70-80 for gpu and +700 for memory.Xoc not working, but after flashing it i cannot revert to the original oc bios.I receive the display adapter mismatch warning.

Yes i have flashed the xoc oc bios for my ftw,and yes i have tried reverting to the correct original oc bios for it.Any ideas? Also after flashing xoc, px1 updated my firmware. Can the original oc bios be flashed with nvflash at least?

Also any difference between normal and oc bios in case im stuck with xoc bios?
