My GTX670 FTW is throttling like hell in Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. It's just so annoying. I mean okay, if it would at least stay at 100% power target... but no, my card throttles itself down to 50% sometimes. 50%, which results in core clock rates of about  640 MHz!!! You can imagine what the framerate is like then, when the core clock should be actually almost twice as much as it is. The newest firmware doesn't make any difference there.

Seriously, what uses a high end graphics card, if it doesn't work. I'm just so disappointed

Newest firmware definitely dropped temps for me, I like it! Now I just hope that the EFI update is not far behind. It's going to be great booting into Win8 even faster than it already is and being able to natively boot into the OS through EFI.

It dropped the temps for me as well. Under full load it dropped my temps about 3C. Just browsing and watching YouTube videos drop my temps 12C.

Can anyone help me with this? I updated driver on my GTX 670 FTW (2gb) today and got a weird problem. Apparently I'm using WIndows 8. After the update, my start meny totally screwed up. Games run fine and heaven benchmark has no problem also. SO I don't know if it's settings of WIn 8 that got screwed up by the new firmware update. If that's the case, can someone show me how to fix it?

yeah i mean the VGA drivers :)

go to your programs and features list and see if you can find nvidia drivers, if it is there, go ahead and uninstall it and reboot, then install new drivers, if it's not there, then go ahead and just install new drivers.

you can grab the latest (WHQL or Beta, i actually recommend the beta) from geforce.com directly (near top left corner).

see if that helps.

Just updated firmware on my 670 ftw 2gb.  legit so far.  decreased my load temps by 6c.  never broke past 68c.  idle temps are the same, no change for me personally.  3dmark11 performace test with all defaults (no gpu overclocking, stock everything) got P9228 (roughly 200 point increase from previous)  Very happy so far.  Thanks EVGA.

I'm experiencing a sudden reboot/shutdown while gaming with the following bios
- 2678_80.04.4B
- 2678_80.04.31
After downgrading to stock bios 2678_80.04.19.00.70 the problem (fingers crossed) dissapeared.

Love the card, but it still wont let me play bf3 even with the firmware update. Still getting the dx11 bad function call or something error whenever I try to play.

I don't have any problems with gaming. I don't see a need to update the firmware unless something was to make the game not play properly.
If I watercool the videocard I certainly wont have a heat problem.
Any thoughts on my comments?????????????

The firmware update appears to improve efficiency and performance. Why would you NOT want that?

Hello,
Sorry if this has been answered before but is there any firmware update for the 04G-P4-3673-KR GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB?
If yes, where I can get it? All the 670 models firmware updates will be available on this same thread?
Thanks.

The way I see it, there is no need for more performance as all the latest games play at 60 FPS. Skyrim. BF3.
Rage. Metro 2033. All the Mass Effect and fear games.
Efficiency seems perfect. It uses less power than my old cards. And as far as heat goes, most of the games run from 40 to 70 degrees centigrade. It will be even better once I water cool it.

Ok so this is kind of urgent, any help would be appreciated. I was all set to buy the GTX 670 for my xps 8300 before I realised another £70 may be worth the jump to the 680, However; I am unable to find any sort of news of a bios update for the 680 which allows it to work in the 8300, despite the fact that the 670 has been updated and many people inform me that the 670 now works in the xps. Any one seen or able to find a post that confirms a bios update for the 680 which allows it to work in the xps, hopefully with some users confirming compatability? Thanks in advance for any help, I would have assumed the 680 would have also been updated due to the fact that it is almost identical to the now functional 670, but am unable to find anything

does it ultimately solve the RSOD issue under vantage (when card is OC'ed and otherwise stable)?

Not particularly, but the new version improves compatibility with some newer cards, so I would recommend trying it perhaps.

ok, thanks. upgraded my 670 ref last night. will do some Vantage after work and see if it can survive. what makes me wondering is why so far (older firmware) it could pass 3dmark11 without an issue in DX11 mode and at same time it couldn't pass Vantage because of RSOD (DX10 problem?)

just an update. RSOD problem is no more with firmware 4B on my reference 670 2GB. all runs very well, thanks EVGA!
