A couple of questions for evga.
Will there be ACX 1080Ti cards with default pcb or will all 1080ti's be icx? I really don't see the icx price hike worth the trouble.
Are all custom cooler 1080ti's going to have the triple fan design?

I don't see why people bother buying overengineered-overpriced cards. They clock what, 10-20 MHz better than a standard pcb card with a custom cooler? I prefer the custom cooler SC edition most of the time! :D

This is what I've been patiently waiting for to complete my build, although I won't be buying the 3 fan version.  I just have to be a bit more patient for the hydro copper version - hopefully there will be one.

I think I'll have to pass on the TIs. I am running 2 GTX 1080 FTWs which are in the process of being replaced due to some defect. The point is, my FTWs will be brand new and I doubt I will find anything that will stress my system for MANY years. Plus I bought EVGAs 10 year warranty. However, if I ever do another build, ya, EVGA all the way with whatever their top of the line is at that time. GREAT COMPANY to deal with. I wish all companies were as dedicated to customer service and product perfection as EVGA.

I got the FTW2 last Wednesday from Amazon, I got back from work really tired and decided wait for the weekend to install it. Glad I waited, not only I received the card the same day that Nvidia announced the 1080ti but also EVGA announced the FTW3 and lowered the price of the FTW2 (I paid 679.99 on Amazon and now is 589.99 here.) So on Monday the FTW2 is going to be returned and I'll wait for the FTW3.
I was thinking of take the hit install it and wait for the step-up but for what I'm reading is not an option to upgrade from the FTW2 to the FTW3.

Interesting and mightily tempting - once we see reviews and all that, hard to make decisions given even the reference reviews aren't out yet!

For the cooler design itself: I find it actually a bit odd, when put next to a "regular" 10 series EVGA card. I would have expected something with more straight lines, something more "blocky" and industrial, especially the outer edge of the shroud. Not sure I'm liking that - but let's see how it actually looks, renders make metal parts look like cheap plastic anyway.

Hi All, what about rumored 980TI upgrade path for 1080TI? Anyone knows anything about that? Will EVGA give that kind of possibility for EVGA 980TI owners or should I create a topic "Selling my 980TI"? Cheers!

The rumor of 980ti owners getting first chances at 1080ti's was just a rumor and nothing more.

To post a topic like that, you would need to have 50 posts and approval to the evga marketplace, or use a local source to sell, like craigslist or heatware. For sale threads are not allowed on the general evga forums.

Rumors and/or speculation aside, has EVGA announced any "hard dates" for the an EVGA 1080TI to be available for Step-up (regardless of version variant)?

My step-up eligible period ends in 10 days...

Evga can not make further announcements, until nvidia actually launches the product. Hopefully everyone will have more info soon.

Cannot disagree with logic.

Out of curiosity, how likely, if at all, is EVGA Customer Service able to go beyond the "90 days step-up" program deadline for a person in a case similar to mine, that clearly wants to step-up to a "soon to be on the market" GPU, yet without a hard release date announced yet? Or, is the 90 days deadline set to the minute, to avoid creating precedents?

Best answer I can give, the 90 day step up has been a hard deadline, without adjustments. This makes it equal and fair to all utilize it.

You're talking about cards within the step up being the founders edition and/or reference card clock speeds with whatever cooler model is in the list, correct? In terms of stepping up from a 1080 FTW to a 1080Ti, I'll probably be looking at an FE board at this point?

Yes, the founders edition and the ACX or ICX with reference clocks. The founders is just a different cooler.

OH thank god...!  [Starts breathing again] I had been going back and forth since page One, from my original (erroneous) reading of Scarlet-Tech's meaning thinking it meant the FTW 1080's couldn't be upgraded FROM...  Jeebus Mary and Joseph thanks for asking that question exactly that precise way!  I had performed the Bozo-no-no of managing to buy the 1080 4 days before the ti release was announced (DOH!!!).  Have always bought from EVGA since BFG folded, in part because of things like the StepUp program, but never have "needed" it before like I do now.

(Also Thanks to Tech Chris B for letting us know about the commitment to bring the ti's to Step Up when they can!)

If you meet the requirements listed here, then yes. http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/. If you qualify, you will have to initiate before your 90 days are up.

That depends if EVGA unlocks the stepup queue for the 1080Ti within your 90 day window.

Can I step up a GTX 1070 FTW to this one?

This is where it is tricky. I see people in here talking about step up but I am pretty sure that only applies when stepping to a reference card. I might just disregard the GTX 1070 FTW2 trade and step to this if possible instead

edit: the page may have changed the step up qualifications are not what I remember. This is awesome if I can step to the highest tier 1080 ti

The page for stepup hasnt changed. The only time a ftw series card has been on the list was when the 970 ftw+ was added because of the sli bridge not working properly. That was a very special circumstance.

There has been no announcements of preorders outside of nvidia.com that I have seen advertised.

I am thinking on getting this card, but my options are open, I do have the funds for preorder. Hopefully Fridays reviews blow me away. The 1080 FE has done me well since last June, always overclocked +155 and staying strong. Pascal is such a great thing and CPUs are seeming to die down in performance but not GPUs!
