Hello people. I'm new here... I have a DT GTX1080 FTW2 board. I tried to update with the predicted in this post but by chance I have 5500mhz in gpuz and drops to 130 the bandwich ... I found that it is not possible to update this "dt" board * 6684-kr * I would like to know if updating to bios by uploads does not been verified (techpowerup) causes loss of warranty. I want to put my previous firmware which is the 86.04.60.00.80. Unfortunately I did not save the file. The bios secundario is different 86.04.60.01.80 ... I really wanted to get back to the original one I had before.

Kids, I've the stock BIOS that came in the VGA.
I already post photos in the previous messages.
I've the memories in 11GHz.
Well... By setting the BIOS in secondary by turning off the PC and moving the switch of the VGA, I notice that being in Windows the screen blinks in black every so often.
This from what I see isn't normal.
With the primary BIOS, it doesn't happen to me.
In this case, how do I re-reflash the two BIOS and avoid this?
Problems with temperatures aren't because I have a full cover waterblock.

You'll need to reflash the slave vbios using nvflash.

I already tried to update the BIOS again with the steps explained here, but it throws protection error.
What would be the right steps?
At the date what BIOS do I have to download? Since mine already came factory with 11 Gbps.

Sounds like you need to flash using the -6 command. e.g. nvflash -6 <filename.rom>

If the above doesn't work for you please post a picture of your error.

I already tested with this one. It is not the version that was previously on my card. And also 130ghz bandwich 5500mhz of memory o_O This is exactly the problem. It does not make sense that bios was posted here. I am very sad. Just found the bios in techpowerup. But I do not know if there is a risk of asking for the guarantee.

I would like to know if updating to bios by uploads does not been verified (techpowerup) causes loss of warranty.

Warranty won't be void if...

#1 You're flashing the original back to either the primary or secondary.
#2 You're flashing the secondary with a different vbios version.

Note: The primary must keep its original vbios loaded to it at all times to keep warranty from being voided. The secondary can be flashed to whatever you wish.

Hi, I'm waiting for a response from EVGA support. As they still have not answered me. Here is my video card. Nothing is normal for me. These clocks are completely wrong. I want to go back to my original bios or some functional bios with the 11ghz. Unfortunately I did not back up my version 86.04.60.00.80 ...
If someone managed to put this board in 11ghz could help me. Well in the post says to be the GTX 1080 FTW2 DT. So being so EVGA should be in position to solve my problem because it did not work here.
Problems... Bandwidth, Memory type... and the memory stays locked in 405mhz ( in the precision xoc )

After updating >>

According to the post this is the original bios. But it seems to be having more problems than the new bios >>

I had the exact same issue with my latest 1080 FTW I got for SLi. Whenever I flashed the bios it locked the memory to 405mhz as well. I tried multiple bios from Techpowerup all resulted the same. I used the VBios for slave from page 12 for my 2nd 1080 FTW and all is well Both of my 1080 FTW are at the 11Gbps. Both with different bios as what worked for one, did not work for the other.

Thank you, Sajin.

But I have the same doubts as I had before. Putting this bios lose the warranty?
I bought the vga a month ago and I do not want to be without warranty.
On the techpowerup website it says the following message:

"Warning: You are viewing an unverified BIOS file.
This upload has not been verified by us in any way (like we do for the entries listed under the 'AMD', 'ATI' and 'NVIDIA' sections).
Please exercise caution when flashing it to your graphics card, and always have a backup."

Hi everyone,

I've received my GTX 1080 FTW2 GAMING P/N 08G-P4-6686-KR and as many of you it is equipped with the latest BIOS version 86.04.60.00.80 / 86.04.60.01.80 (master / slave). So the max memory speed is set by default at 10 GHz effective (1251 MHz in GPU-Z). I've checked the manufacturing date with the S/N and it appears my card was made in November 2017, quite recently.

Just wanted to thank you and this worked for my recently purchased 6686. like many users the official provided executables failed and the only (useless) official advice provided was to boot into safe mode or run as administrator.

the only thing I would note is I didn't have to delete the GPU in the device manager. after restarting Windows had disabled the GPU in the device manager but it's a simple step to right-click and enable it. immediately after re-enabling the GPU in device manager, gpuz, precision, and Nvidia Control Panel recognized the GPU.

I recently bought a gtx 1080 ftw2 DT and decided to upgrade the bios.
After realizing that the homepage bios is older, I installed what was posted by saijin here

I used the nvflash64 mentioned a few pages ago. I disabled the card in the windows device manager and uninstalled the driver with ddu. I rebooted the PC and reinstalled the driver but something is wrong. The gpu and memory clocks are both wrong and alternate between the correct one and 137 and 405 respectively. Need help

That's normal. The GPU should change clocks between idle states and when it's being used. This will occur even when web browsing. Also, Afterburner shows you're using a really ancient driver.

hahaha
1 - This is true, I really use a very old driver. He gave me many joys and did not want to discard him...

2 - Before I updated the bios, I could reach 130% in msi afterburner. Now I get only 120%

3 - Does anyone have the slave bios for FTW2 DT that will reach the 11ghz?

hello, it is necessary to modify both vbios, master and slave or only slave and leave the other normal

slave option

I think it worked the change of vbios, thank you very much

hello, it is necessary to modify both vbios, master and slave or only slave and leave the other normal

slave option

I think it worked the change of vbios, thank you very much

I'd update both.

I recently bought a 1080 FTW2 (non-DT version). I downloaded the correct BIOS file, unzipped it. There are two files, primary.exe and secondary.exe. I ran the secondary.exe to update the slave bios. I followed the instruction in the very first post, saw screen blackout for a few seconds, pressed the "Y" button to confirm, heard some beeping sound, but nothing happened at the end. The card still runs on the old bios. Do I need to boot windows 10 to safe mode to update bios, or do I have to uninstall driver first? Please advise, thanks in advance.
