AzumoooG555 Do we still not have a working 450w BIOS for the 3080 LHR ftw3? Pretty disappointing this card maxes out at 105% pwr limit.
There’s 3080 FTW3 LHR BIOS on the first page of this thread. I installed it on mine last week when I got the card, and the power slider now goes to 118%.
Could you link which one you used? I have tried a few now and it keeps giving me a "Your firmware is up to date" message. Nothing seems to be working :( EDIT - NVM GOT ONE TO WORK WOOO. If anyone else is having issues with LHR 3080 BIOS flashes, I would suggest trying this if it matches your card model. I think clarification on the original post is poor for most people. It references flashing the card "back" to it's original state, implying it would be factory settings. This bios flash however changed my factory bios and upgraded it to the 450w, and I now have 118%. - (10G-P5-3897-KR) [XOC/ReBAR]

That SKU in the bios you referenced is a non-LHR card though. Are you sure you have an LHR card? Your sku would end in KL

After using 4897_OC_450W_ovu on my FTW 3080 LHR, I booted up precision and it prompted for an app update, and then a firmware update. Did it just downgrade the firmware that I just installed on the card? Is there a way for me to verify what is the current firmware and if its the right one?

GPUz would be the best way I can think of off the top of my head.

This is the flashed bios, it says 400W maximum. Is the OC or did X1 override it and update it when i was prompted?

So here's the best way I've seen to flash a bios. In the MB bios, turn off fast boot, Flip the switch to whichever bios you want to flash (oc/quiet) and boot up. Once it's done and fully booted up, load up the bios flasher you downloaded and flash the right XOC bios TO THAT switch. Shut down, switch the physical bios switch again, and repeat for the other bios. I did the same thing and almost RMAd a good board. Also, your driver is out of date, it seems.

My OC flashed bios on the 3090 shows default 420W and maximum 500W in GPU-Z, which is what it should be showing, but it seems to treat the default power limit as maximum (or close to it) and throttles the crap out of the GPU instantly if it goes anywhere beyond 420W, rather than gradually ramping up. Same with minimum temp limit at 65C - I guess that's where it is also supposed to start throttling, but it throttles really heavily rather than gradually if it gets anywhere close to 65C. Not sure if the culprit just one of them being overzealous or both, or maybe they both kick in and double up?

I hate to say it but the issue with the 3080 LHR hybrid conversion BIOS has been talked about for months now.. and there's still no solution. Some updates would be nice :P

Flashing ftw3 ultra LHR with the XOC bios (EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra LHR (10G-P5-3897-KL) [XOC/ReBAR]) didn't increase power draw, as tested in furmark. It did let me slide power to 118% but the power draw didn't change compared to the original OC vbios. I have flashed the vbios back and forth to confirm. Anyone else has this issue?

Just out of curiosity, if somebody has a 3080 TI FTW3 and wants to do the Hybrid conversion, is there an updated bios for that? Or has there just been issues with those converting to Hybrid kit who have a 3080?
Lastly,
If I wanted to take my GPU apart to repaste, and replace with upgraded thermal pads, does that void warranty ?
Just lookin for that “lil extra” 😁 Thanks!

After installing the XOC BIOS on my 3080, I saw the max power draw go from 400 to 420 as the highest. Better than stock, but not the 450~ I was expecting to see like my 3080 Ti. Although, it’s already been determined that the sensors for the 3080 Ti are either inaccurate or not being read correctly by software like GPU-Z. Could be the same thing with the 3080. However, I’d expect to see at least some increase using the XOC BIOS.

Hello, just checking in since it's been a while - looking at the thread it appears we still don't have a working 3090 FTW3 Ultra HYBRID XOC BIOS with proper fan control yet, is that correct? Looking at Post 1 it's the same BIOS since April which doesn't allow any fan control like the Air cooled versions of the card.

Yup, same thing. I was able to move the slider but it didn't draw more power, and I can't oc it for ****. I RMA'ed it for the time being to fix the thermals on it. Super disappointed with this EVGA card so far. Can't OC and thermals were horrible. Hopefully the RMA fixes things or I'm going to go find a Strix / TUF.

Can I just trust Precision X ReBar tool to choose the right BIOS for my cards, or do I have to digest all of this and do it myself?
Reason why I ask is I just get an immediate black screen when starting the flash process using the tool - after waiting 5-10 minutes this way I give up and reboot my computer, and then have to recover the video devices by re-enabling them in Device Manager followed by rebooting. Am I not waiting long enough?
Note that I have two 3090 FTW Ultras with the Hydro kit installed. One had the red lips (old model) and one had the black lips (newer model).

Precision has no way of knowing you installed the hybrid kit without you installing the hybrid bios first, so no it can’t just give you the updated hybrid bios.

Changed my 3080 FTW3U to 3080 Ti FTW3U. Cannot achieve 450 W even in kombustor. All the monitoring programms reports not more than 430 W. Maybe you'd discussed any solution? 3080 previously maxed out 460W easily. thanks!

I was told in a separate thread that the hybrid vBios is only needed for LED control and so it’s not necessary? Should Precision be able to successfully update the existing non-hydro bios though? Why the black screens?

Not sure about the hybrid vBIOS, but that’s something I’m curious about myself since I modded a 3080 Ti with a water block. Anyway, Precision does update the vBIOS if one is available for your card. Just need to look in the Re-BAR menu and you’ll see “update” next to the BIOS version if, again, there’s an update. Otherwise, take a look on the main page of this thread for XOC BIOS for your specific card.

I'd have to guess the bios updater is being confused by which card you want to flash, and it would be a lot simpler if you only had one in at a time and flashed them one at a time.
