Dumb question -- I have a 3090 KP Hybrid that has the hydro copper kit on it. It doesn't seem like there is a bios that fits my card in the OP. Am I reading that wrong? The stock LN2 dip switch has a max wattage of 520 in GPUZ and I have been able to hit 500w +/- in gaming. Port royal never really breaks 480w with a max achievable clock offset of +100c even with voltage at +100v offset. It seems like there is plenty of wattage and temperature headroom but the clock just doesn't want to break +100 without crashing. for example, I can run a 20x PR stress test at +100c but if I do a single run at +110c with all other settings constant, I get a crash about 30s-1m into the run. Why? What am I doing wrong?

subzerogts Can someone confirm that? The 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra comes with a 450w power limit from the factory on the default/normal BIOS?
Which software is most recommended to try and increase power? MSI Afterburner?
for windows i bet to Afterburner yep but don't allow me to change coltage %

Weird. As far as I can see from the Precision X1, the maximum TDP value on my EVGA 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra Hybrid is 113%, which is + 13% to 350 watts, which are listed in the official spec ( product.aspx? pn = 12G-P5-3968-KR) However, for some reason in games, I see from monitoring the GeForce Experience that the consumption of my card reaches 420 watts and above (at 113%). For example, I am attaching a photo from the Days Gone game in 2K resolution with a 200% render. Can anyone explain what is the reason?

You go into settings in afterburner and enable voltage control.

Pretty sure the kingpin comes with a card that has an email on it where you request that bios and the "classified" overclocking tool.

Tried flashing a 3080 FTW Ultra with the xoc (oc) bios Jacob posted in the other thread https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-FTW3-XOC-BIOS-m3118560.aspxTurned off fast boot and disabled CSM in the bios, shutdown, flip the switch to oc and followed directions. I'm still getting the message "No display adapters were found that are compatible with this update" during the flash. What I'm doing wrong? What is the difference between the 3897 and 4897?

What are you using to gauge power draw? Keep in mind that it was discovered by another forum member that the software sensor reporting is about 30W shy of what’s actually being drawn. They used a clamp meter to verify that. I believe it was a 3080 Ti that was used for testing, but the PCB for both the 3080 Ti and 3080 are similar enough that I imagine what’s being reported sensor-wise via software is the same. blazemore I was able to flash to the 4897 bios provided by OP. So, you got the display working again? What was the issue? Also, 410W sounds about right. That’s what I initially observed after flashing to the same BIOS for the same model card, but I’ve seen as high as 420W.

I ran furmark with gpuz for about one hour, results where the same with oc bios @ 105% or new bios @118% : freq, temps, fps, power draw... And impossible to push gpu freq more than +110 without crash, with any bios. I'm surprised that i achieve to get better results by flashing a bios from another brand and model, but to risky for daily use ! That's why i think it's bios related, an update can do that in my opinion (not an expert) (And sorry for my poor english, i'm french !) Edit : after all, it is even a beast ! But i like to push to the ultimate limit !

The first release of cards are locked and no bios will help you , only way is to shunt mod it which voids your warranty , i believe now new cards are being shipped without this issue (revisions) , how much more power you will squeeze thats another question There is a youtuber frame chasers which explains this more in detail

That has a ring of truth to it - I was one of the lucky early 3090 FTW3 Ultra recipients, and the bios doesn't appear to make a lick of difference to max wattage under load...

Glad you got it working. Now, if Nvidia would stop messing with their drivers… I’ve actually seen a small performance decrease in certain games. I was seeing as high as 125 FPS using the Red Dead Redemption 2 benchmark when I first got my 3080 Ti back in June, and now I’m averaging 118. Still a huge increase over the 2080 Ti I was using, but I digress. Again, glad you got it worked out.

Thanks. Not sure what the difference is between to the two bios but I'm also glad it worked out. I haven't experienced any performance decreases but what I have noticed is a more stable boost clock and not jumping between bins.

If you referenced the post by Jacob from October last year, the difference is the card itself. Since then, a LHR model was released, and that meant a different default and XOC BIOS. And, the default BIOS was likely downclocking because it was reaching its power limit. With more power available, it will try to sustain a higher clock until either power or voltage limit is again reached. Temps could have also played a part.

That makes sense....I was aware of LHR cards but for some for reason didn't think it affected me and should have looked into it more closely. As you stated, that's what I was experiencing with until the bios update. Temps for the most part were never a factor as its under water.

Water cooling is definitely nice especially if it’s a custom loop. And, I see you deleted the part where you said you wish all the BIOS were in one spot. I was going to say they’re all here from the OP on the main page and that Jacob’s XOC post is almost a year old, whereas Lee’s post was made just this past June and has been updated several times. I know it’s garnered a lot of attention over time, but Jacob’s post should probably be archived at this point.

Check the list on the main page if this thread. You need to install the XOC BIOS that has a cap at +118% in PX1. Make sure you download the LHR version of the BIOS, and read through the points about disabling Fast Boot and CSM beforehand. Not doing so could cause problems.

The black only has two 8 pin cables so it's max would be in the 350-375w range. I like to think of the black as an EVGA founders edition.

So, you got the display working again? What was the issue? Also, 410W sounds about right. That’s what I initially observed after flashing to the same BIOS for the same model card, but I’ve seen as high as 420W.
Issue was not being able to flash the xoc bios posted by Jacob in the other thread. I then tired the xoc bios posted in this thread and it work.
I reverted to an early August driver and got my performance back.
