When can we expect the BIOS update for 04G-P4-0974-KR  models?

Yeah wondering this too! Thanks.

as the FTW cards are not released yet, will they come with 1.1 automaticly

if it does i will give it a try..
if not.. i might only give it a try when there is a way to get back to 1.0

Still no update for ACX 1.0
Why do early adopters who have to deal with inferior tech also have to wait the longest?

any updates about acx1.0 ?

Some RP said that you plan to offer a upgrade plan for the acx1.0 fan to acx2.0. No news since.... nice customer services...

Sorry about that link fixed.

The new firmware maintains the lowest fanspeed (35%) until 60-67C

that's all ?

We can do that with any OC software with a custom curve.

35%minimum is way to high and to noisy compared to every card proposed by your competitors. And it's useless my card is running at 35° @idle...

I waited for your update to lower fanspeed below 35%..

I hope your will propose a program to update to acx2.0 either way i'm gonna sell them (too late for retractation i waited for evga solution) and buy another brand.

Nice. What's different in this BIOS release for the 0974? I still hear the loud fans on idle (35%)..

Wait, ACX 1.0 can't go below 35? That's bad. Hopefully this update fixes the fans spinning up for no reason though.

Any word on noise levels or temps with the new BIOS, particularly for the 970 SC version?

Jacob, thanks for the update, I'll install later today and let everyone know if it made a difference. From what I am hearing however and what you are saying, my card already maintains 35% at idle, which keeps my temp around 30-40c. That 35% is still way too loud for casual use and the temp is very cool, why can we not lower it to below 35%? My main concern though is the fact that the Precision tool is unable to manually control my fan speed. None of this would be an issue if I could create a custom cooling profile in Precision to regulate my fan speed based on GPU temperature. Any idea why my card fan does not respond to Precision tool? (Or MSI Afterburner either.)

They are the same !

35% minimum at idle, noisy as hell.

The only thing this update does, is a simple curve 35% to 67°. Everyone can do it with precision ....

It's simply a joke.

First Evga produts was disapointed day one, buy i heard that they will address it, and plan for a fan upgrade to acx2.0. I emailed EVGA EU no news about it, so.... only choice is to sell my cards and buy another  silent brand/model

Sorry. I should have been more specific.

What is the noise difference for the new bios for the 970 SC ACX 2.0? ... and specifically under load?

To all people who have also encountered the problem where the update.exe closes immediately:
I had the same problem and solved it!
  1. Uninstall Nvidia Graphics Driver via Control Center
  2. Start update.exe --> the command line window closes immediately saying that it can't start a service
  3. Reboot
  4. Now go to your Device Manager and uninstall the graphics driver and make sure you ticked the checkbox to remove also the driver software
  5. Start update.exe --> now it should work and you can press 'y' two times to begin the flashing process
  6. Reboot
I hope this is helpful!

@CiroConsentino: 35% according to PrecisionX
 Edit:
And that's about 1300rpm

hum... My card finally arrived, EVGA GTX 970 ACX 1.0  (04G-P4-0972-KR) and the 35% fan is around 1430 rpm. Still silent compared to my super noisy EVGA GTX 570HD 2.5GB (min 40% at 1860 rpm). I'm loving this card. Silent and super fast. It runs everything I throw at it at 60 fps with no lag (I always use adaptive v-sync) to avoid screen tearing on my 60Hz monitor.

But adaptive v-sync causes screen tearing.

Not to me it doesn't. When it's lower than 60 fps (Watch Dogs and Metro 2033 Redux), I don't see screen tearing at all. My monitor is a Samsung BX2350 with 2ms response time.
If I disable adaptive v-sync, I see tearing on those games.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Only G-Sync or real V-Sync gets rid of all tearing.

OK,

So I installed the new BIOS and reinstalled the drivers and there is no change. Fan is still at 35% and I cannot control it at all through Precision tool. I tried creating an automatic fan control profile with anything less than 45c running at 20% fan, then ramping up the fan as temps increase, but no dice. @EVGA_JacobF is this card working as designed or should I be looking at an RMA here?

The new firmware maintains the lowest fanspeed

(35%) until 60-67C
