I'm building a new rig and this is my card, to top all of this off.
i7 4930K
R4G Mobo
16GB Dominator Platinum 1866 MHz
512 GB 840 Pro Series
AX860i PSU
Shoving it into the Corsair 350D

I've got a few questions.
1) How do I acquire said card?
2) Can I be put on some kind of pre-order list?
3) Can I give you my money now?
4) Is the Corsair AX860i Sufficient?
5) Seriously how do I get on a waiting list or put in an order?
6) Is there a firm release date for this card?

Thanks in advance guys.

    1. It's build to order. ordering should happen later this month apparently
    2. Not directly from EVGA. overclockers apparently has them on pre-order
    3. No.
    4. I would honestly get atleast a 1000 watt PSU the card alone can use 450 watt.
    5. wait.
    6. no.we just hear end january beginning february everywhere.

Really you think at least 1000W psu for a total est wattage of 450 GPU+250 Components= 700W?
I'm still over by 160W, although I could just grab the AX1200i and sell my 860i ( I also don't plan on SLi)

Alright Alright, so ordering happens later this month and it's made to order.
Any EVGA reps that can comment? much appreciated.

80 Views and 1 reply, I don't know if I asked questions that can't be answered or everyone here rather enjoys complaining about their GPU they've got ready for RMA.

What darklyspectre said is true. Although you will probably be good with your PSU IMO, and from what I heard from Jacob the 780Ti Classified Kingpin is due near the end of the month.

Card will be $800. Jacob said so. If you want a Titan you can get an ACX cooler for it for $40, and if you're doing air cooling this card will not overclock any better than a normal 780Ti Classified. I talked to Jacob about this and he said there would be little to no difference in performance unless they were on water/LN2. Why did you think it would be $900+? Maybe if they added VRAM, but they aren't...

I like the SP fans on the Kingpin as opposed to the regular AF style classy fans
I don't want to do extreme overclocking but nonetheless want this card specifically because it doesn't cost $1000 and will outperform a single titan in most tasks and it looks sweet.
I'll admit I'm a sucker for looks and exclusivity, as your probably right almost no difference between this and the classified although if I kept it stock, it has higher gpu and boost clocks by default, which is nice.
I find myself sitting at work looking at it. Can't wait lol.

Ooooo I almost forgot, this card comes with a backplate, whereas the normal classy that's an option no?

Yeah that's true, so that makes the price difference even less if you were to buy a backplate. In my rig the normal Clasy would look better so I'd probably get one of those, but the Kingpin is pretty cool too.

Vince ( K|NGP|N ) plans on showing off the new cards to the world at CES this week (Jan 7-10), so I would expect that all of the above questions will be answered with ease after this week. I, personally, have been looking at these quite extensively, but that all depends on what else gets announced at CES. My single Titan oc'd to 1200MHz has been quite capable, so I'm in no rush.

Well looking at the classified bios issue , just be aware you will most likely need to run sky's bios when he makes one for this to get a decent O/c from it

Oh man now they're teasing the GTX 790 with GK110 x2 and 10GB DDR5..... what to do with all this disposable income

Do you think a single titan would suffice for BF4 on Ultra 1920x1080p and Above?
Or would I have to overclock the Titan to get said results?

Yea 8 core Haswell E will be ridiculous
However Intel Retail Edge deal on the 4930K was an actual steal. No need for saving up when the processor is 75% off haha.

yeah like how the classified would be good for overclocking.

Man I thought the EVGA forums would be full of happy evga campers, this is contrary to the current reality
Are there this many issues with every GPU manufacturer? Seems like I should burn my PC in a fire and use a Dell or something with Intel Iris Graphics

I have no idea what darkspectre is talking about. I have 3-way 780 Classifieds and they are phenomenal...

And I believe that the 780ti classified currently hold the 2-way 3-way and 4-way records. So not really sure what he's talking about.

However, I've got my 780's (Non-ti) and I'll hold onto these until the 9XX series comes around. The first gen is always a little "underperforming" and second gen is the way to go, this will also give maxwell and DDR4 a chance to flesh out and stabilise in both price and performance.

This all makes a lot of sense. Happy to hear your 780s are working as intended.
I really like this version of the 780 Ti, because ACX cooling is pretty much the best air cooling you can get.
If the Titan came with ACX I'd be conflicted, but this is not the case.

    +1 for a bigger PSU.

I really don't see any reason why anyone would get the KingPin edition if they aren't WC'ing/LN2 benching. Given it is designed to handle to very much power, it would be a shame to see one of what will be a limited run be wasted on air cooling.

Get yourself a 780ti classified, will perform just as well as the KingPin edition on air and will be around the same price one you've added the backplate. And to be honest, will look a lot better. The clear plastic I think looks pretty tacky on the KingPin edition. But as most will WC. It's pretty irrelevant. :)

Hahaha, well I don't like when old farts drive ferraris but I can't stop them from buying one because they have the money and I don't.

Kingpin & 790... *yawn*, bring on maxwell, kepler is worn out already.

    Saving up for 8 core Haswell-E, EVGA X99 Motherboard, 4x EVGA Maxwell GPU's, 16GB of G.Skill DDR4, 1TB Samsung SSD, EVGA's New 1500W.

That is actually some very good things to wait for.  The Haswell-E will rock!

The Titan has the ACX cooler available for purchase from EVGA for $40, so there's that to consider...
But yeah it will be worth saving up a ton of money for this upcoming fall. I may do it myself. Not sure if I'd go 4 way SLI with Maxwell, but I'll probably buy 4K then so it may be necessary XD. It's hard holding out on these things but I have to remember that my Titan is still killer and I don't want to throw all my money towards NVidia and their greedy shenanigans.

I think I'm blind, I can't find the ACX cooler for the titan
Although I'm not too sure I want to be messing around with the prospect of effing up thermals/thermal paste on a card I'm going to want longevity from :S

It's not too hard really there are many guides for it online. I have considered getting the ACX on my Titan, but I find it unnecessary as the stock cooler is plenty sufficient for the amount of power the reference PCB can deliver. I run a modified BIOS with no temperature limit and 450W power limit, and the auto fan profile keeps it around 80 but it doesn't throttle. I never run into cooling problems with the cooling I have because of these things. However, with a card like the Classified which is capable of delivering much more power, it makes sense that you'd want ACX.
They did release the ACX cooler for the Titan back in late August, but it's very possible that they've discontinued it and you'd have to buy one from eBay (or a 780 one from eBay).

Honestly, I'm stuck on the Kingpin 780 Ti, I don't think the Clear Plastic is tacky, it will go quite nicely with my red and black theme, I want the backplate, I like the higher stock clocks and it performs very well (vanilla 780 ti vs titans anyhow, this will perform better).
I need the ACX because I'm not doing WCing (for now) but it's a great card to have around just in case you might do up some WCing for the **** of it right?

I'm shooting for a High End mATX PC Build and I think this card will accent the 4930K on water, Rampage IV Gene, 16GB Corsair Dominators at 1866 MHz, 512 GB 840 Pro series, AX860i (or AX1200i) and the red braided/sleeved cables with the black Corsair 350D case.

Initially I was going to pick up the Asus 780 Ti DCUII but the ACX cooler smokes it in the cooling dept by 8 degrees on average which is retarded.
The Kingpin has higher stock clocks, better cooling and the ****ing awesome factor going for it.

I've got money earmarked for this thing, when I see something like this I go for it like a pitbull.

Yeah well if this is what you want, then by all means go for it :P!
I have been really tempted by a bunch of stuff (almost made a badass ITX build with the Hadron Hydro), but I've decided I'm going to wait until Fall 2014 and get a DDR4 (if it isn't awful) 8-core Haswell-E rig with a 1TB SSD and at least 2 GTX 880s (maybe WC if the budget allows) with a 4K monitor.
Point is, if you do plan on going all-out, it may be worthwhile to wait until then (but it's of course up to you).
