i love EVGA but as Nvidia's main board partner they knew about power limit etc restrictions way before putting this card out

a video linus did at ces has him saying evga says there are the same problems as the regular classified, but they are trying to get around it. If they dont get around it by the time the card releases

...seriously?
they go around bragging about the kingpin and now it has the same issue as the classified?

Inb4 the kingpin can't go higher than the classified at stock and that "AWYUSH NEW WORLD RECORD THAT KINGPIN DID HUR HUR LOOK AT THE FROST MARKS ON IT" involved hardmodding the fricking PCB to be able to go high voltages and they just got rid of all the modding to make it look like the card did it standard.

but then again that most likely was a pre-production that didn't have any of nvidia's limits on it. And now nvidia is probably being a bunch of donkies again(even though this is hardly a mass produced version of a vendor) and locking up voltages again.

Not EVGA's fault but they knew this before they came out with the classified or nvidia changed their mind out of nowhere and that is the reason why the kingpin still doesn't have a launch day.

But seriously EVGA needs to TALK to us. people are complaining about the classifieds. people are worried about kingpin people are wondering **** is going on. I think people would be calmer if they just went "Nvidia screwed us over out of nowhere so we had to change ****" instead of pure silence.

Now the question is if the MSI lightning 290X is gonna be good since MSI really dropped the ball on the 780 lightning where they used horrible ram chips and it was kinda meh.

How is AMD involving overclocking/voltageincreasing compared to nvidia?

Seroiusly EVGA nvidia is not going to change for you or anybody. you guys want to be a big name for overclockers? Start working with AMD too since they don't act like babies. Imagine a EVGA 290X classified with no voltage limits like nvidia forces.

It would be pretty damn great.

All of you are right and I understand you but I would bought card even if she can only 1.300V.
But under that, no reason to buy such card. I understand all of you wish much more than that and they build card for more...but...
NVIDIA fingers are obvious they couldn't say that but they plan to lock as GTX680... Only now EVBot connector is symbol because no production any more and 70-80% of people no EVBot... others are faced with BIOS problems... That's same thing. NVIDIA sell locked cards and with drivers try to prevent overclocking with crashes and other problems...

When I say 1300V I don't think on Classified Voltage Tool.
I thought about normal everyday overclocking with normal software and official BIOS.

And every time they keep on going SUPER OVERCLOCKING while knowing it is handicapped badly and people who heard about EVGA QUALITY OMG(like me) will buy it. people who have seen all the **** that happens everytime still keep on swallowing it cuz omg EVGA4life/Nvidia4life.  butthen again I noticed that all the Nvidia cards from any vendor seems to suck in overclocking. Vendors keep on making stupid powerful cards tht just breath overclocking but nvidia screws up everytime. I have been out of the AMD scene for some years now and I only just now started to properly BIOS flashing overclock my GPUs. from what I heard you still need to flash a bios since vendor software doesn't give alot of +powerlimit on their overclocking programs but the cards themselves don't really have a overclocking/voltage lock?

I mean I understand EVGA. I mean people who buy non-ref cards are mostly people who overclock and who look into this stuff so they must do this type of advertising so they can get sales. it's kinda iffy I guess but eh its business.

now the kingpin is here and it's all "GUIS LOOK OVERCLOCKER NAME ON It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ADD SO MUCH POWER STUFF ON IT! POWRRRRRRRR (jeremy clarksoning intensifies) MUST! BUY CUZ OVERCLOCKER NAME AND FACE!!! RECORD FROST MARK SO COOL BUY! LOOK TWO GUIS ONE WITH TATOO HE IS KINGPIN!!!so kewl if u wanna be kewl like him BUY THIS CARD ONLY 800 AND UR SOUL" and it will overclock higher than the classifieds because of the higher amounts of power phases I guess and much more strict binning but eventually BAM you will hit the nvidia voltage wall way before the GK110 gives out

It's really sad that the cards are like this.

but eh why would nvidia even care about overclockers? We are just a small percentage in the end.

PS: I have nothing against kingpin. I don't know the guy but I just get iffy whenever companies start putting some guys name on it since it feels like LOOK THIS PERSON IS ON THIS BUY THIS THING

Seems that you need to go support the other company for as long as they are in business. If AMD is so great why have they lost billions (yes Dorthy that is a B) over the last 10 years? Overclocking is a select group. Overclockers will never drive the bottom line, they are the 1% of the 1%. If you dislike the card so much, go buy something else. The rants do nothing to support you. You just laid out $700 for an awesome peice if technology, but guess what, they are making something better. They always will be. Really? That's surprising.

If the manufacturer wishes the restrict their cards, they have their reason. Guess what, they will never tell you. Maximize it where you can and realize that an overclock from 1000 to 1300 is damn good, as that's a 30% gain. You cannot get the world record. Okay, but that is just a person, where the manufacturer wants to sell to millions. Make one guy happy, make millions happy? I wonder what you would do given the same question.

Be glad they are improving things because nVidia could stop. They could then drop prices to a point where AMD would go out of business, then what. Do you think the government will bail them out? These cards are awesome. This stuff was unheard of even 5 years ago.

Oh by the way, the Kingpin stuff is called marketing. I guess you also believe that Santa exists. Marketing does not equal reality.

Hey EVGA.......
"Find out in a few weeks how to get this GPU through EVGA’s exclusive Build to Order program!"

It's been a few weeks and then some. Maybe you should have replaced "in a few weeks" with "eventually" to cover the extra time....

They first gotta figure out how to stop Nvidia from Clock-blocking them.

Pentium III @ 933MHZ, 256mb Ram, 30GB HD, eVGA 680 4GB FTW SLI.

Not only card and TorQ10 mouse is phenomenal...
And card will look much better even in case... special with some led lights...

I agree with some statements...example 1200MHz Boost Clock out of box and 1300MHz Boost with 1.200V stable and I can't be more satisfied than that. If card work on 1300MHz for gaming it's big chance you can pull something more for benchmarks... Other things I leave for people who wish more... Most important is good and silent type of cooler and most of everything guaranteed huge clock difference than other EVGA models.
Simply I can't ask more than 1300MHz stable in gaming because that's highest limit for very small number of GK110 in environment where I use card.
Yes 30% graphic performance improvement for gaming is nice number, more than nice, excellent.
We must count base clock of reference GK110 2880 shaders as start not fabric clock Ti Classified.

I was about to get the Asus GTX 780 Ti DCU II however, the temps are not characteristic of DCUII coolers, in this case the ACX is much much cooler on air
This is why I want to wait for this Kingpin, higher stock clocks and the same if not lower temps with ACX on air, and the cool factor

I just don't like the classified AF style fans, the SP fans look much nicer on the KP and probably cool a lot better at such a close distance
Asus DCUII Ti is a let down in my opinion, all that custom pcb work and subpar outcome

aren't we all?   I wouldn't even own one on air, because I'd own 2, and they are terrible in SLI with the ACX cooler, like Molten Core inside your case.

That's the only way with that card.. I am probably going to pick one up day one also, especially knowing the ek blocks I have for my ti classys will fit.

buying this card and using it on air should instantly shred your license to own/buy computer parts lol.

Says the guy running a 4770K. Hahahahah.

i have a 4770k @ 5.2ghz and a 4930k @ 5.1ghz, is there a problem? is it impossible for people to have more than one rig? also my sig is way out dated, i sold my titans back in november.

you sound mad for some reason, whatever that reason is i can only guess its because you tried to troll about a 4770k and instantly had that blow back in your face.

In any case, buying the Kingpin which comes with increased stock clocks and two fans and an acx cooler, means it can run on air.

If someone is using a single card setup with no sli and plenty of airflow and zero need for benchmarking, the kingpin and classifieds will run cooler than the asus dcuii regardless.

Not everyone wants to sit at their computer and watch it crash until they get the highest synthetic (and useless) benchmark scores they possibly can

yeah it can run on air, and if thats what you want to do go for it, its your money and no one should tell you how to spend it. But there are better options for cooling and noise with 780tis right now if gaming is your #1 objective.

Im buying this card with 0 intent of gaming on it, yeah i may do some late night gaming when im super bored, but other than that, this card wont be seeing any in game loading ever lol.

What card do you suggest for gaming then.

Titan's underpowered and expensive now, asus dcuii runs hotter and louder than classifieds, classifieds apparently have boatloads of issues crashing and with coil whine (according to the forums), kingpin is yet to be determined but, seeing as how it's "for extreme overclocking" should logically hold up under whatever cooling you throw on it, especially if you leave the clocks and voltage stock unless they're made of potatoes
