Could that be the monster that the prophecy foretold?

If so, why aren't they using a vapor chamber like the 5970 had? From what I can see through those fans it looks like a old heatpipe heatsink. I couldn't see any other reason it would need 3 fans.

Love the shroud and the way the fans set down under a grill of sorts. Should be a beast!

I think that was photoshopped, but this looks very legitimate. Maybe they're taking ATi's approach and using two underclocked 580s like the 5970 was two underclocked 5870s, who knows. All I can say is holy $HEE$U$

It definitely has three fans.  It also appears to have an exit 'slot' along the top for the air to exhaust through.  Definitely will need good air-flow through the case to get the heat out.  A big change from the cooling scheme on the 580 cards.

Looks as though it might have also have an illuminated 'EVGA' along the top.

Hmm...wonder how well that will fold?  Heat is going to play a big factor under folding!

This is by no means the same but I fold with a 9800GX2 and a 580 and heat isn't much of a problem,I would think it would be ok..

Edit: Nevermind I guess Hazmatt named it haha.

Anyway what's the power consumption on this monster? Is that the thing that set off Chernobyl in my STALKER games? lol

Would be awesome if they pulled off a full out dual 580 card. (even if they had to down clock the chips)(water blocks and a good psu can take care of the extra power needed to take the mhz up) I am thinking that since there are dual 8 pins, this is an evga only custom, and we can expect pricing as such. Thinking minimum of $750+

On the positive side, once they release, they might bring down the price of the 580's a little ways.

Whatever happened to that Asus Mars II they had shots of?

EVGA GTX 580 FTW KO ACS4 Classified X2
I kinda like that but without the Classified X2 at the end, plus that would re-launch having an ACS type card :)

Wish they would take the look of the etched E in the acs3 cooler and put it in between the black bars or made the whole cooler top with the logos across it like this:

Yep...the other one was identified as a GTX 570 with a custom fan setup.

Re:EVGA GTX 590 pic? 2011/01/06 21:23:03 (permalink)
This looks like a card that will use the GF114 core. The number of VRAM modules (supposing there are 8 matching ones on the other side) suggest a card with a 256bit memory bus. That means if nvidia holds true to this generation it means 32 ROP's per GPU. If I had to guess, I'd say this was indeed a dual GF114 GPU with all 384 cores active on each GPU. It makes sense when you take into consideration the TDP of the 500 series cards. I seriously doubt it's going to be a GF100 with 512 cores or even a GF100 with 480 cores as that would drive the TDP through the roof. It already has 2 8pin PCI-E connectors so that's 300w right there and add anotehr 75w through the PCI-E slot and we have an available 375w for this card. If it is a GF100 part it's going to be castrated and downclocked to remain within that available 375w power ceiling. Which is why I think it's going to be a GF114 part.

I'm interested in the cards length.

Based on my calibrated eyeball...(image sized so it exactly matched the size of the PCIe connector on a GTX 280) I'd say it's about 0.5 inches longer than a full sized card. So at the least 10.5 inches and more likely closer to 11.

good explanation and thought crap.
thanks or sharing. I guess if it were based on GF100 chips, it'd need at least (3) 8pin connectors?

Well, that shows that each GPU has 12 memory chips. And the reason for the third fan (voltage regulators in the middle of the board). And 11.5" by my measurements.

I've been reading that the dual GPU from Nvidia is ready but they are holding it back until they see ATI's dual GPU.  Don't know if that's true or not though.
