I had my hands on it and the custom GTX570 for a bit. Jacob talked with me explaining a few things that'll be coming out soon about it.

Thanks for the video man. good news is, its exactly what i need for 3D. beautiful card... bad news is, not what i wanted to hear when he mentioned release date in about 2 months.. as my step up runs out in 40 days... oh well, time to start selling it i suppose.

How many of these dual GPU cards have been utter failures? Answer: ALL of them. By their very nature they are a design flaw. VERY FEW

They are piling 2 gpu's ina  confined area and dumping that heat into a HSF that already isn;t sufficient to cool these cards (thus why so mnay of us run aftermarket water), build themselves of a pre-equipped bottleneck by overload a single 16x slot with 2 GPU's when you can already split that up by using two cards in 2 ports which we already know scales extremely well now with these i7 rigs thanks to the X58 chipset. VALID POINT

To get them to stay within the power spec they automatically have to gimp the two GPU's knowing they will exeed the 300 watt spec if they don't. VALID POINT

We then come to drivers which have always been problematic with these cards, and eventhough NVidia is king when it comes to drivers, they have never been able to get these cards to run right with proper drivers do to the defects and the design flaws from an engineering standpoint. MANY people have never had driver problems (me included)

NVidia already has single GPU solutions that Completely Destroy the Competitions Dual GPU, so why go down that road? It makes no sense. This has been a fad with no real gains in technology that should've faded away a long time ago. Doubling the number of GPU's =/= putting it all on one die. It never will. It's inefficient, is a thermal runaway heater in which these cards already run too damned hot without water (even the HSF idea should've disapeared years ago), and try as they might the software driver dev's cannot fix a engineering design flaw. may be true of competition, but i have vantage scores of a GTX295 beating a single GTX580.

If you need two GPU's, that's what motherboards that support SLI are for, and you buy 2 cards. the 2 card solution or even a single card solution is gonna beat out the dual shoehorned GPU solution every time, because they don't come pre-equipped with those design flaws. a dual gpu card is cheaper than 2 separate cards in sli, thats why people buy them. and again, i have vantage scores of a 295 beating a top end card 2 generations later.

Next time you blast a card, read a few of the forums to get better informed

As for that EVGA GX2 560 hmm too under powered to beat a HD 6990 me thinks, let's hope that NVIDIA will make a real GTX 595 with Dual GF110's instead, since they will need something to fight off the HD 6990 from ATi Department AMD.

But it would be nice for you folders out there or for a Quad SLI GF114 setup, although I wonder how improving Quad SLI scales compared to the GTX 295's , might be interesting to find out more about this.

Ah well I am waiting for Kepler to come round :) 28nm GPU's lots of Cuda Core rendering capabillities, so for now my GTX 480's will happily get me through 2011 untill the EVGA GTX 680's come looking around the corner

He also says power available to the card is 225W when I'm pretty sure it is 375W. 150W for each 8 pin connector and 75W for the PCIE slot. The other site seemed equally sure that it was two GF104 cores.

And your logic behind that would be??? Remember, we are talking about a nvidia based card. You realize that nvidia is the KING of renaming the same or very similar things right?

Well this is also an eVGA custom card, not an nvidia card, so it could be the eVGA 'I am God' card.

very true, but I somehow doubt that is the naming convention that they will go with on this card. Since it is new, I put money it will be a 5xx something

If it was a GF104 then it would have been a 490 not a 590. It's either 2 GF114's or 2 GF110's.

It doesn't have a name yet.  I personally think it is two GF104 Chips.  Think of it this way, There are hardly any GF110 chips around at the moment and if EVGA did have them, They would be going into 570's as they are in high demand.

No one is sold out of 460's yet everyone is sold out of 570's

"Not ready to tell what GPU's it is, but you can probably guess... It's performance is faster than a 480, somewhere around a 580, it has 2 gig's of RAM ... it's 11 inches long.."

My guess is it's 2 GTX560 cores with slightly underclocked cores.

What about two 580's?  I know the power draw from one 580 is a lot but if they shared resources on a dual card maybe it isn't so bad.  After all the 570 is essentially the same card as the 480 but Nvidia tweaked the components to draw less power.  Perhaps something like that happened on the dual card.  Didn't Galaxy have a dual 470 card?  It might happen with a dual 580 card.  I don't know I'm not a computer engineer.

The GTX 560 comes out this month. EVGA's 590 is said to come out in about 2 months. The card on display was a prototype so from what we know the PCB might not even have the chips on it yet. By the time this comes out, nVidia would have plenty of GF114 chips to go around.

560's themselves are not even out yet,  Nvidia wouldn't have enough chips.  Another reason it could be 460's is that two 460's are faster than one 480 so what he said in that video reinforces it more

The GTX 560 comes out this month. EVGA's 590 is said to come out in about 2 months. The card on display was a prototype so from what we know the PCB might not even have the chips on it yet. By the time this comes out, nVidia would have plenty of GF114 chips to go around.

The chips are indeed on it, in fact, it even works

most ppl who read his posts know that Fudd is not Nvidia friendly... but here is his post http://www.fudzilla.com/graphics/item/21486-geforce-gtx-595-has-two-gf110s

One thing is sure, Nvidia's dual-chip Geforce GTX 595 packs two GF110 cores.

Uhhh.... Fud (Fuad) is VERY PRO-Nvidia biased. So much so, he even reports on half-baked, non-confirmed, internet speculation to bolster his ad revenue. He's been saying nVidia would be releasing a 480 X2 since the original 400 series hit. We've never saw any, aside from experimental prototypes. In fact, it's taken board partners to have come up with it, not nVidia who has released a reference design.

If you want anti-nVidia, go SemiAccurate with Charlie Demerjian. And quite frankly, i'll take Charlie's word over Fuads, any time, every time.

Besides, SemiAccurate's gang isn't so bad despite being anti-nVidia (from a corporate standpoint), they got to meet and shake hands with Dear Leader, Jen-Hsen Huang! at CES! :D
