Maybe EVGA will lower the Requirements to allow all to Fold for EVGA Bucks.

the active members are members who have a non 0 avg over the last 7 days. so over the last week there are 63 less active members than there was a week ago. this is normal for Folding@EVGA due to EVGA Bucks but i still want to see how many start back up in the next couple days.

Not that it really matters but why do you care, you have not Folded under the EVGA Team in over 8 Months now?

Strange post, as Chris was trying to show the other user where the hole in their “inactive versus active” users is. Chris is just providing insight that the other user may not have been aware of.

Thread is gone astray for me and seem to have gone from Folding and only getting EVGA Bucks now.

Spoiler

I think a ton of people were scared away.

According to extremeoverclocking.com,

Team eVGA has total users of 18102.
Only 479 out of those 18102 actively fold.
If I'm reading the stats correctly, we lost 63 active folders over the last month.

So we had like an 11.6% drop in active team eVGA members over the last month.

Am I reading that right?

The total points for the month are more, which is a good thing, but an 11.6% drop in team membership in one month should be a bit concerning, no?

*Edited to add photo correctly.

I think you are trying to oversimplify the reduction in active users.  The active user list is a 7 day list, as Chris21010 mentioned. It is NOT for the month.

Looking at users like Mekhed, AcesofDeath7, wizanhi, drey070(one goal, not both), and other users, you will see that the users that are typically active and show as inactive right now, have all hit their goal or goals and shut down, yet they still show inactive for the team.  There is 4 examples, and I am not going to be able to take the time to go through every single persons profile on extremeoverclocking to see who shut down or who met their goals and then became inactive.

I do believe you are not supporting a theory that the inactive users is strictly based on the points increase requirement for the folding bucks though.

I did ask in the post whether I was reading the stats correctly. Apparently I was misinterpreting the stats data, but the hypothesis team membership will be impacted remains neither proven nor disproven.

Not really trying to support a theory. I think it's fair to have a hypothesis though, and I'm willing and interested to go wherever the data takes me. I also thought total team points production would go down, and I was wrong about that as borne out by the data this month. I'm interested to see if I'll be wrong about team membership going down as well.

The team points are being thrown off by the abnormally high points the new BETA WUs that are being done this month.
It's going to take a few month to see the real pattern of how many there are folding still.
I am sure there will be some who stop folding for the team, some who only do the first tier, some who join for the first time.
So many variables than can come in to play. Time will tell.

As for the impact on the number of folders: the number of active has gone down about 10% or around 50-60ish folders, but the impact on the team production overall has been very positive increasing our points output approximately 30%.

I was just able to afford my new 2070 due to this wonderful program put on by EVGA, so my points have literally shot up recently. I may have complained about the numbers in the past due to being stuck on the older 970, but that was my own issue. It's difficult to see the positives when you're stuck with older tech and can't keep up with the newest stuff. Thanks again to EVGA for this promotion and I look forward to what is to come!

I have a 2080Ti and I get about 1.6 million points per day on maxed out settings.  I physically can't leave my computer on for 2 weeks straight at max settings, it's just not possible.  Probably just going to quit the program.  I actually use my computer daily and can't have stuff running in the background. I feel bad for people that have 1070's or anything like that as they save up for the ridiculous cost of RTX cards.  They will barely get tier one in this new set-up.  Would seem to me that a hardware related goal system would make more sense.  Better hardware equals harder to reach tiers.  Why punish people who like to keep their computer hardware longer?

No one is punishing anyone. Welcome to the forums.

I can see you are strictly a bucks folder according to your stats. It would also seem you don’t fold often. I would suggest setting a beta flag to earn more points if you strictly continue to fold for bucks and not for the purpose of folding.

Dont know what shame there is to have. People fold for different reasons. I don't care to say I did it for the EVGA bucks. The people that put out 20 mil or whatever a month most definitely don't do it for the bucks. For me, I upgrade every couple of cycles so was a good way to discount new card every couple of years and let my PC do something(maybe) useful in idle time. Skipping this one though because way overpriced. It's not like we are getting paypal cash out of it, so it goes back to EVGA anyway. W/O knowing their margins on cards(im guessing decent since good luck finding a 500$ 2070 or 700$ 2080, the cost to EVGA is a lot less then the 10$ max can get each month). But they're getting more per month out of me with the changes since I go to the 5$ threshold, I don't even bother with the 10$ now since I like to use my PC for other stuff during the month too.

my personal bias as a new 2060 owner is that a tier 2 goal around 17-18m is a little more inclusive
couple questions since the levels are (still?) not set in stone:
1. is there any update on whether it is likely tier 2 would be lowered?
2. if that were to happen and the (now lower) revised level became set in stone, would it be retroactive?
asking because i don't think i can make 21m this month, but i might get in the 19-20 range going 24/7
if the adjustment won't be retroactive then i can do some gaming.....

BCav is giving the users a link so that they can add the banner to their profile if they wish. This isn’t done strictly for bucks folders.

1. No. There probably won’t be an update until it is publicly posted by EVGA.

2. I would assume that it will not be retroactive. My guess would be that IF there is a change in points, it will only be a slight change for the hot months when it is much harder to keep hardware cool.

I have a 2080Ti and I get about 1.6 million points per day on maxed out settings.

That seems abnormally low, I can pull ~1.5 million with a 2080, 1.9 on the beta units.

Regardless, you can easily hit the 21 million without impacting your daytime usage. Even if we just limit it to 8 hours a day while you sleep, that's 240 hours in 30 days (or 10 days worth of folding), and you should be getting ~2.2 million a day with a 2080ti, which gets you 22 million points just folding overnight. Your excuse doesn't hold up, get folding

The trendline for the last thirty days is probably a bit pessimistic, I would assume the monthly users will still go up a bit, but it does look like the daily folders took a bit of a hit (80ish, ~13%) vs this time last month.

The more interesting comparison is to Feburary 2019 where the active folders peaked around 640.  This shows the impact several people here predicted that would be felt more in the second month than in the first month of year 12 as well as the total decline for year 12.

Overall monthly points are up, however, and that's a good thing.

Just now downloading the software needed for this, Im gonna run my personal system tell i get the parts to build a system just for this ..  Im thinking of going with a DG 73 for the case, Z390 for the board, two Titan for the video, a super nova 850W for power ( All EVGA )  and then changing out this CPU i have now in this system I7 8700K put that in to the folding system and a new one for my personal system, Letting the folding system run 24/7 ....  on its own Internet ...
So with that other than dowlaoding and waiting on it now to finish. what is needed next ..
