Vlada011Here is one more review if you didn't checked.
 http://hexus.net/tech/rev...020-evga-dg-87/?page=2

Not sure what to think of this review.
They make cooling performance look sub-par with the DG-87, but aircooling is not really what this case was meant to do, is it?
Load it up with the big hulking radiators and water loop its designed to take, and THEN talk about performance and noise.
Double 420 rad with low RPM fans, waterblocks on everything, decent semi passive PSU, makes a world of difference.
This review feels like someone is talking about how a sailboat handles on the road.

I just looked at my order history and it says my case has already been shipped at some point.
Thanks for letting me know, EVGA!  Who needs a tracking number anyway, right?
That giant box is supposedly on its way now, and I have no clue when I should stay home and wait for it to arrive.

Seriously, EVGA.. You guys make awesome stuff, but this customer service.. Its abysmal.

It gets better mate, it hasn't actually shipped. It just says that...

Check out this thread on this forum: "PREORDER DG 8 EU SHIP"

EVGA have been abysmal recently. With this and the 1080 Hybrid...

It hasn't actually shipped yet? Thank god, I was getting pretty worried.
Because if I miss the delivery and have to go get that colossal box from their depot in the middle of my car-free city center.. eesh..

On another topic, has anyone seen any 420 inline (in one end, out the other) radiators around anywhere?
I'm having a hard time planning 2 radiators without having to run excessive tubing.
EDIT: Found one, but it seems a little slim? http://www.watercoolinguk...XFlow-Black_44932.html

I did find something else though, how does having a 420 radiator up front work with the drive cage?
https://prohardver.hu/dl/...28637/evga_dg-87-5.jpg
Will it get in the way, or is there enough room to shimmy a radiator in between?

Re: EVGA DG-8 Preorder Coming Soon! 2016/08/20 12:33:01 (permalink)
Ok, Provided it all fits, heres my first shot at kitting this thing with watercooling:

Dinky little plan made in photoshop (to scale):

The top radiator is a Black Ice Xflow 420 slim (Thin as hell, but should be fine..).
http://www.watercoolinguk...XFlow-Black_44932.html
The front radiator is an EK Coolstream CE 420.
https://www.ekwb.com/shop...olstream-ce-420-triple
The CPU block is a Heatkiller VI Pro all Nickel (best block around, colored like the case)
http://shop.watercool.de/...rcooleK/Products/18001
Motherboard is an Asus ROG Maximus VIII Formula (mouthfull, but has cool features + watercooled)
https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-MAXIMUS-VIII-FORMULA/
Videocards are SLI Zotac AMP GTX 1080 Arctic Storm (preinstalled goodlooking waterblocks)
https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-arcticstorm
Pump and Res are an EK-XRES100 Revo D5 PWM..
https://www.ekwb.com/shop...-revo-d5-pwm-incl-pump
..with extended reservoir..
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-res-x3-tube-250-204mm
.. and 2 packets of EK reservoir clips. (because I need 2 for res, 1 for pump)
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-res-x3-holder-60mm-2pcs
I'm also gonna sneak in an Enginia Rock Flowmeter coming off the radiator at the top.
http://g02.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1MV5qLXXXXXXCaXXXq6xXFXXXr/new-arrival-2-Way-G1-4-ROCK-cooling-system-water-flow-velocity-display-meter-2pcs-black.jpg

Ofcourse I still need a bleed valve somewhere, not sure what would be the best spot for it though.
Maybe right out of the pump-out port? (The one going straight for the radiator)

For tubing im still entirely in the dark. Hardtubing does look cool, but not sure if I can do it. :p
Fat diameter whitewall flex tubing with black anti cinch coils might look cool (it will be an RGB lighted case).

What do you guys think? Tips? Thoughts?

I'm going to buy a watercooling kit to start out with and I have a choice of either a 280 with a 2x 140mm dual fan radiator (
Dimensions: 150 x 40 x 332mm (WxDxH) (46mm at ports)) or a 360 with 3x 120mm triple fan radiator (Dimensions: 128 x 40 x 406mm (WxDxH) (46mm at ports)) This will be push/pull in the top.

Ideally I would have gone with a 420mm with 3x 140mm but that's not an option right now, am I right then in thinking the 360 is the way to go even though it's 120mm fans?

Cheers.

Well this is depends on what your planning to cool and whether you plan to OC and how much etc. You need to give a little more details :)

If its just the CPU and one GPU at stock speeds you should be fine.
Rule of thumb seems to be one 120 for every stock speed device, two 120 if you overclock.
But that was back when CPUs still had a TDP of 150w and videocards still ate 300w though,
so not sure if that still holds any water these day. ;)

Of course, sorry :)

Initially it will be to cool an overclocked i5-6600K 4.2-4.5 ish and that's it to start.

Later this year - early next I may look into upgrading my Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 3 board with a 200 series chipset and watercool that if applicable and look into the GPU.

To be honest the main reason I'm choosing to watercool is purely aesthetic and nothing to do with temperatures and with the RGB now on most GPU's I'm not sure I want to remove the fans.

And thanks Sokonomi that helps.

Check out the Zotac GTX 1080 Arctic Storm.

RGB lighting built right into the preinstalled custom loop waterblock. ;)
Card is expected to launch somewhere next week.

Thanks, that's nice.

I have a VR headset and a 4K TV that I use as my PC monitor so I'm looking at cards that have at least 2 HDMI ports like the Asus Strix.

I've tried connecting the TV with a HDMI-displayport adaptor and yes it works but not reliably so 2 HDMI ports minimum.

It's the reason the DG-87 initially caught my eye.

The Zotac?

I've looked and the specs say: Display Outputs 3 x DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b, DL-DVI and there are 5 ports on the back so unless that's a missprint it has just the one HDMI.

Hmm, the little nook on the outter most display port kinda made it look like another HDMI. :')
So you're right, its got 3 display ports. Which could also be a problem for me..
I wanted to use two cheap sidepanels which only take HDMI.
What exactly didnt work with your DP > HDMI converter?

Although the adaptor says it's 4K and does use the 3840x2160 native resolution it's forever dropping to 1080P and messing up all my settings (A reboot fixes it but it happens too often). Imagine a browser set to 4K res suddenly dropping to 1080P on a 4K TV - the horror....

Anyway maybe I just have a cheap or defective lead but to be honest when it comes to conections I prefer direct and not adaptors and if I can get a Strix or a Gigabyte extreme edition with 2 or 3 HDMI ports built in that suits me and the Strix does a 1070 with 2 HDMI ports that I realy like the look of (and the price).

So I am actually doing the same thing and i am curious if you are doing this for aesthetics do you plan to hard tube? cause i can tell you its not cheap LOL right now my system is going to be cooling the CPU and GPU and eventually i will add a second GPU and a 2nd radiator and my parts including all fittings/blocks/etc is close to $900 but imo its going to be worth it in the end. Have you tried EKWB's configuration on their web page, you can put in all your components the type of tubing, color of fittings and it will give a basic "Kit" recommendation for you.

Actually I'm quite happy with soft? tubing. I have this mad scientists alchemy lab vision in my head and yes hard tubing would also look great with that but I think a little chaos with the loose soft tubing, some normal clear, some UV clear is going to look amazing.

Of course it may also look crap - who knows :)

@ Boleyn1895 : Yeah, 4K through HDMI wont work. :')
I wonder if you can convert DP to DVI-I 1080p with a simple cable though.
I already bought HDMI > DVI-I cables, but I guess with that card they'd be useless.
Id rather buy new 5 dollar cables than go through the mess and cost of waterblocking a GPU myself though.

@ vormicia : Their configurator is broken AF.
Select a card block + backplate, fittings are suddenly gone.
Select a card block alone, half the fitting colors are missing.
Select a card block alone and a random color, cant continue because it requires "extra parameters".

BodsterIt gets better mate, it hasn't actually shipped. It just says that...

Guess what just showed up unannounced.

I was playing games at home on my one day off in the week, doorbell rings.
TNT (so not UPS!) : "Yes, hello. Where would you like your new fridge sir?"

I got lucky, but I'm also a bit peeved at EVGA about this.
They did not notify me of shipping, nor did they provide me with a tracking number.
And if I didn't happen to be at home, id have to go collect this massive monolith somewhere.

Well its here now, so let the watercooled adventure begin. :p
(Build will have much better pics, this was on my ****ty backup phone)

One review on French...
I don't understand nothing but video nicely show beautiful case.

Far better than Phanteks or Obsidian or Graphite... Much better and more fit for this period, 2015-2020.
Guys it's time to upgrade your Obsidian 800D, he serve you good but this is case for new age.
Maybe this will become tradition and I hope EVGA plan every year to launch one new PC case.
I'm curios what sellers all over Europe plan... Maybe and they will offer him, even smaller sellers.

Anybody going for a push/pull setup with this case.  Also are you able to do it with a 30mm or 45mm radiator?

You wont Push/Pull with 45 on top there is 60 mm clearance from top of motherboard to fans 30 is best option, here is a pic with a 30 mm radiator push/pull (sorry for flash but only way to see clearances

thanks for the pic, it shows perfectly the space left with push/pull on a 30mm radiator. but the only thing i can see in this pic are the fan wires on the front side of the radiator.... would love to see those fans rotated so you will not see those wires in the case window. also your bends on your tubing, you didnt heat a large enough area and/or didnt get it hot enough which is why it kinked on the inside of your bends.

LOL you noticed most of my screw ups, 1st time custom water cooling, and ya i plan to redo all the tubing there are more mistakes you cant see :)
And the fan cables ya well i ended up mounting/un-mounting the fans like 3 times when i was building and most of the screws/studs int eh rad were shot by then so i decided to just fit them in between the fans didn't wanna take a chance i would strip them completely
Also ignore them 3 fan cables im waiting for my PWM hubs so i can control groups of 3 at the same time shipping from China wasn't the quickest but they are awesome http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8R64R95474
