Now you mentioned it. I did email to NitFenix and they said it won't fit SR-2 :( I liked that case though. Also, they said they are making new case and it's XL ATX but no HP ATX :(

Just heads up i just picked up a Lian Li PC-V2120X for 399 at new egg.. From what I understand the promo is over the 19th.. Not sure if thats the 19th at 23:59 or 00:00:00 much less which timezone. The promo code is on the page but LIANNEWYEAR20 is the code.. PC-V2120B is also apart of that promo (black with silver inside), PC-V2120X is the all black one.. Wasnt actually planing on starting my build yet but i couldnt pass up $100 off.. guess I need to do is start buying the rest..

Remove the one front 140mm fan and installation of the SR-2 is a snap. The only problem I have had with the V2120 is that UPS put a hole in the shipping box and there's a slight scratch on the left side of the case (which I didn't notice until I put everything together a few weeks later). I've been trying to get a price from Lian Li on a new side, but you know how responsive THEY are.

Can anyone recommend the best ECC Registered Memory for the full 48GB? If one uses ECC Registered RAM, can one still O/C them? Those who are watercooling, is there a decent watercooling solution for the 2 sets of 6 ram chips on the SR-2? I note KONAn lists "KVR1333D3N9K2/8G" as his RAM incorrectly in his signature, as they are 8GB chips Thanks, Merlin

Hi All, I am building a new SR-2 rig for heavy server purposes and just need some advice on my proposed build. This will primarily be used for server purposes (Hyper-V Server with serveral virtual machines - File Server, Mail Server, Webhosting server, virtual Win 7 box, & Unbutu box). I chose the SR-2 as it had the most amount of PCI-E slots for expandability, and its a monster! I need most the PCI-E slots for NICs for the VMs. Ok, here's what I settled on so far with my questions in parantheses (): Lian Li PC-P80 case EVGA SR-2 2 x Intel Xeon E5620 Westmere ATI FirePro V7800 8 x Patriot Viper II Sector 7 4GB PC3-12800 1600Mhz (is this good ram?) 2 x CORSAIR CWCH50-1 Cooler (or should I use the CWCH70? will either fit in the case?) PERC6II RAID Controller RAID 6 config with 6 500GB Hard Drives (15000rpm) Corsair AX1200 power supply (any other recommendations for a better power supply????) I'd love to hear any feedback on my build and answers to my questions before I bite the bullet. Thanks in advance! Ringo

No way....
I dunno to be honest,as the HAF-X is already an XL-ATX certified case so it has the ability to use all the PCI-e slots that the SR-2 has as both the XL-ATX Quad SLI X58 classified and the HPTX SR-2 have the same height, and has enough depth for an E-ATX board(13.5 inch depth)... However, the SR-2 is 15 inches deep,so it's really that last 1.5 inches beyond the E-ATX standard that might or might not screw things up,but if you look at the SR-2 board, the only higher profile part at the end is the actual ATX power connector....The rest sits lower on the board like the C-MOS battery and jumpers. Either way, even if it doesn't quite fit, there's less modifications to be done on the HAF-X to make everything fit than modding a corsair 700D or 800D with a mountain mods HPTX tray,or any other solution we've seen in this thread involving other cases....Worst comes to worst, get a mountain mods pinnacle 24 with the HPTX motherboard tray for 300$ and that's taken care of(100~150$ more with extra options, such as windows, better finishes and more fan openings).

That Xigmatek case is very cool, but when is it going to be available? I'm sure Jacob can't put it on the list until we can buy it.

Spotswood antizax http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=835481 For those who haven't seen. (It's a case.) IMHO that case looks very cheap and therefore not worthy of an SR-2. When you are spending $2000-$3000 on an SR-2 not everyone wants to spend another $500 on a case. I think this case may be a bit on the ugly side but it is also the cheapest SR-2 capable case. Plus you can easily fit watercooling inside. If I am unable to slam an SR-2 in a Stacker 832, this will be my next case.

I fired an Email to Xigmatech and the Elysium Super tower will go on sale in canada(where i am), by mid march only so it's still 5 weeks out minimum in my neck of the woods....On the bright side at least it will be released, and gives me enough time to buy all the parts for my SR-2 build(about 70% there so far).
