P.S. How much different is it from the E-ATX screw position?

no clue on the RAVEN Case but the SR-2 Bolt Pattern has a majority of the same mounting holes locations as the E-ATX Standard but it has a few extras along the bottom of the board due to it's sheer sizing

I am personally waiting to see what the price tag is going to be on the Case Labs TX10 due to be released sometime in the next couple weeks

So... technically I can use a E-ATX case where is big enough to fit in the board, if I don't really care about "ALL" the screws, right...?

Because that can give me a whole lot more choices of case I believe... 2~3 screws missing on the side won't hurt IMO

I would personally look at cases that the SR-2 can fully mount to as it provides the best support ... and if you dont use some say along the bottom edge and the you want to install a VC in that area you run the risk of cracking the board ... so in other words ... look for cases geared towards the HPTX Form factor to safeguard the motherboard as much as possible cause it to me is a major investment

I think I'll choose the Ecomaster over the Rosewill, although the latter actually looks better. Simple reason: the Rosewill has no dust filters.

The Rosewill and Ecomaster cases look really similar what's up with that? Aside from that though they both look great! I've been looking for something for such a long time, all the previous choices weren't really attractive if you wanted an SR-2 or equivalent form factor motherboard and unfortunately Corsair never really went into the EATX, XL-ATX and HPTX markets, instead they're catering for the masses with smaller mid tower cases.
Would be spectacular if EVGA went into the case business, wouldn't that be something?

I'd like to add that this will fit in a Lian Li G-70 with 3-4 extra stand-offs adding once my rig is complete I will post pictures.

Sadly the downside is that it will only allow 1 psu, without serious mods.

I love that case, and the black-orange variation I've seen in eBay ;D. Too bad sending a case it's that expensive :(

Re:EVGA Classified SR-2 Compatible Chassis 2011/12/13 11:38:03 (permalink)
There is nothing you will have to change from what I can tell. The last couple PCI-E slots will have to stay empty, because there are no open slots on the case. I have the 800D and just recently brought the SR2. I did extensive research on the net and youtube and found various instance of the SR2 fitting the 800D.

The real question that will determine if you modify your case or not is if you want to use those last couple PCI-E slots.

Has anyone used the Cubitek Tank case for the SR-2?  It seems like a nice case for the money.

Thank for the reply.

Should add Case Labs to the list.
Here's their STH10 single wide case.

They have numerous cases that support HTPX.

I have a general question about the cases for sr-2:

I did check all the cases Jacob listet. But all of the cases got only one big hole for only one cpu at the tray where the mainboard is mounted to. So what about the hole for the second cpu on the right site of the board? So my general question is:

- Do I have to connect the cpu-cooling bevor mounting the board on the panel, so that, i do not need the second hole for the right cpu?

OR

- Do I have to order for every case in the list also an extra tray for dual-boards?

It is recomended that you buy case which have cutout for SR2 - SR-X Motherboard.

Here you can see it:

So whats the list good for if there are only two cases in that for the sr-2?

What about the cases with one cuout? Not recommended? So why are they in the list?

Re:EVGA Classified SR-X/SR-2 Compatible Chassis 2012/02/04 09:37:24 (permalink)
I dont think that the lian 2012 can realy handle the sr-2...
The Mainboard tray is removeable. So that means it does not have a strong hold in the case. The sr-2 with alle the coolings on it is far tooo heavy for that small tray.

This case is not made for sr-2: You see it just because the company even put a big fan inside the case for stoping you sliding the sr-2 in there (see the post of tandylan at page 15). Even you tight up the tray the vibration that the two cpu-cooler are causing ont it are too much.

I would say jacob shoud put this case out of the list. Or at least put a notice under it with the problems.
