Turn RT on and you'll see your performance nearly double with the 4090. The 3rd generation RT cores and the fact that there is 128 of them on the 4090 vs 84 on the 3090 Ti is a massive leap in raw RT performance.

I'm not saying it will increase your performance but turning on RT and comparing the 2 architectures will show how much of a leap this generation has been in RT applications vs Ampere.

The one good thing is I will say with the latest architecture is the lighting and colors look more vibrant. I do imagine your CPU is holding you back. Looking forward to you coming back on a 13900K and seeing what you get.

The architecture changes the lighting and colors? I'm not sure I want my architecture to determine my game's design. Placebo, maybe? Hopefully?

Per nvidia with the extra hardware for RT on the card ADA does handle RT lighting better than previous generations, it could just be his screen shots yet do not believe so the neon signs look a lot more vibrant/correct than what I see on my 3090 TI. They did bring it up during the keynote I do believe. It's nice to see a higher resolution picture of it in action without frame generation involved on the latest drivers without any of the affects that blur it. You have to ask yourself what is RT, what is light, how does it bounce, having it more correct with the power of ADA with the extra technologies the chip packs it does make it look better. You can use DLSS but that comes at a cost, and with it with frame generation that comes at sort of a higher visual cost and gameplay experience feel in terms of latency. Here Real time RT is here to stay and it’s being pushed hard. Games are not designed around it but they are going to include it. If you don’t want it you can turn RT off and let the game use the traditional lighting and methods. Yet without it the games do not look as good. It’s going to be a personal choice.

In iracing, even a 3090ti can have perceptible lag just by fully loading up the graphics card, It runs best when the frame rate is capped to get the card under 90% utilization, also If a game has REFLEX , use it, it can get you back quite a bit of what you may loose. I appreciate you early adopters sharing your information. I will get a 4090 when they are back in stock with available + water blocks from EK. be interested to see how a 4090 will react.

What's wrong with this picture?
Sounds more like a power limitation and stuttering than a need for a frame rate cap. Bouncing off the power limit will make a noticeable stutter. Capping the frame rate will just stop the card from reaching its max power, giving the effect of a smoother game.

noooo lol, still the power consumption of one 4090 card is a lot less than 2x 3090 TI FTW3 Ultra Gamings. If I had a bigger case I would honestly not mind running 2x 3090 TI FTW3 Ultra Gaming's but it would only benefit one game the most, the other games I play are already well over 100 FPS with a single card.
