Nice! Clocks seem low for those scores, are you running chiller/portable AC?

ECC on or off?

I understand enabling ECC would cause lower bench scores?

very nice! looks like a good chip, you seeing worse scores with the TR for TSE then over 13900K?

it's not that it causes lower scores, but there is a 3DMark bug caused by ECC off runs with mem overclocked just at or above the edge of stability. it is usually accompanied by visual artifacting, and it results in higher scores than are possible for recorded clocks. as of now, i don't think they know how to handle it because the driver defaults to ecc off...and there's no real malicious action to cause it. normal overclocking behavior will produce very high scores at lower clocks.

what do i mean by normal? well, just raising mem offset until it fails to complete a run...then backing down very slightly until it passes. this is how most folks find the max overclock of their hardware. in this case, the target for the glitch is a run where it artifacts a lot but doesn't crash. score gets boosted a ton but if you experience this and look at the users around you in the hof, you can see if the score makes sense for where you are in the HOF, clock wise.

Thought about going pro, but the prices are too high imo. Plus I don’t need my gpu bottlenecked in games.

All my runs were artifact free. I’ve pushed the memory too high before on older cards which caused artifacting the entire run. Those cards always ended up having to be rma’d due breaking the memory by oc’ing the mem too far. On the 4090 I only oc the vram until I get a score reduction indicating that memory correction is kicking in and I need to back it off at that point. No more breaking my vram from pushing it too high.

yeah idk what's going on really, the scoring is all over the place wrt clocks since 40 series launch and the ECC thing just muddies the water imo. with the added caps on my suprim, it will def oc almost 200mhz above where it's stable without crashing but i don't bother running there bc as you said, it's just degradation past a point and not worth it. are you running the strix xoc vbios by chance? that might be the difference. i'll flash and do some testing tonight. voltage and LN2 to come soon

I’m using the stock 600w vbios. Wasn’t aware there was a strix xoc vbios out for the 4090. Got a link? What is the power limit on it?

after chatting with some folks, apparently the xoc bios has an issue where some cards get stuck in x8 mode after flashing and it can't be reversed. but hopefully it will be fixed and we'll see something ready for general consumption v soon

here's a perfect example of glitched 3DMark run:

average clock 2997mhz, graphics score....almost 24K lol

what does this user think when the xoc community questions his glitched score?

lol stay in your own lane guy.. your gonna loose every once in awhile

i guess the good news is that UL is in touch with the HWBOT staff about this issue and are exploring a way to detect ECC state to invalidate scores with it off. Not sure how this will play out if the driver defaults to it being on, maybe it will be a combination of the ECC detection + unrealistic score for clocks?

haha, this chip did 8Ghz valid on 1 core, but it seems much weaker all core so far. did you see the Rauf WRs? 7.5 GHz all core FSE, finally knocked off Vince's 4way 1080Ti recrd that stood for 3 full generations

How do you know score is glitched? Only from lower clock higher score? How it can be glitched?

Because I have seen a lot of scores with lower clocks and higher scores. Is not this thing of power limit, etc?
