I graduated to a custom loop and that Seahawk EK looks to be on par with a Classified HC.

Jacob just answered my tweet, asking for an update
Classy likely later, Hybrid ETA late June/July for first stock.
So more of the same but at least "late June" is still on the table. Also, note the hint that the Classy is not.

zlpw0ker
I cancelled the 1080 seahawk as preorder on thursday. I reckon I could have used the gpu until the 1080 hybrid comes on market since the online store I buy from has 45days return policy. But I decided not to and im hoping I didnt do the wrong thing. The hybrid better come soon. I hope its worth it.

How much did u get the sea hawk for?

here in norway it costs 1027 dollars....

Re: EVGA 1080 Hybrid? 2016/06/20 12:08:18 (permalink)
MSI Seahawk with waterblock will not be better than EVGA GTX1080 Hybrid or EVGA GTX1080 Classified with waterblock,
From other side Seahawk with AIO have only one 8pin connector and it's much better when you have one more 8 pin with additional 150W just in case.
Maybe for some custom BIOS, maybe someone want to train on LN2 on older cards for 2-3 years and could use better cards with 8+8pin on PCB.
8+8pin is enough even for default power consumption 250W. I don't like when hardware come close to limitation. It's much better when no way to reach limitation in any scenario. Than I feel much better... I always connect and second 8pin on motherboard even if mobo work with single. Even with CPU less than 100W power consumption. :). Same is with graphic card 8+8pin is some minimum for me. OK I accept it's little funny 8+8+6 pin on GTX1080 that's for stronger Pascal, but 8+8 pin is proper.
MSI GTX1080 Sea Hawk is one of nicest MSI card, and they made some nice graphics with closed shroud... But far from Hybrid.
Hybrid is... Imagine Rampage V 10TH Edition, I saw with KLEVV Crass... pain for heart so much elegance... only miss two EVGA 1080 Hybrid in reinforced slots locked with switch for SLI configuration.

Demand for Pascal is probably big... But I expect few percent lower profit in first months than in years before.
Thanks to really high price. But at the end profit will be record again probably.

The 1080 Hybrid is going to be a non-ref PCB this time around, yeah?

Would the existing aftermarket hybrid kit (the updated one for the 9-series cards) work on the 08G-P4-5180-KR 1080? The dimensions on both the 980 Ti Hybrid and that 1080 model appear to be identical.

From what I've gathered the 1080 Hybrid and the 1080 FTW use the same non reference PCB.

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken.

I also heard Hybrid and FTW will have the same PCB, and that the 9 series water cooling fit the 10 series (thought hey were talking about 980Ti to be specific, not sure if they are different but they should all fit).

It's a very interesting GPU called the Waterforce. No fan on the card itself but it's 100% liquid cooled.

Power delivery is robust with 12+2 phases and dual 8 pin PCI power connectors.

Memory Clock

Gaming mode: 10211 MHz

4 year warranty

EVGA has some work to do.

I might have to take a closer look at this one.

I saw, and clock is VERY nice but design is far from EVGA Hybrid.
EVGA completely surprise me this year with Hybrid design. I expect nice performing card, with excellent temperatures, maybe aluminum cooling...
But they change PCB and use wider with 8+8pin connector and with new shroud look fantastic.

GIGABYTE with 185MHz OC that's as ASUS Strix... special if Pascal OC harder now fabric OC mean a lot.
I think EVGA should offer similar performance or results will be weaker than Strix and GIGABYTE with AIO.
For 4 years warranty I don't care, only for high clock because many manufacturers will push chip to the end without possibility to OC more.

EVGA should start to sell Power Link Adapter for 10$ example and to give with premium models.
In future many people will want to pull cable only 2-3 cm from grommets because cleaner look inside PC.
They should build and with 8+6 pin and 8+8+6 pin for K|NGP|N card. Power Link Adapter maybe could help when people OC with LN2 because cables are completely on side.

I saw the Gigabyte one...i was impressed tbh. I didnt want to buy the msi seahawk because im sure u can have better overclock results with the EVGA Hybrid but after looking at the waterforce last night....it got me into this big decision....but it seems like EVGA doesnt want my money either.

You should wait no matter what you want to buy. GIGABYTE had some fails with overclocked card in past and better to check first performance and experience of customers. On overclock.net customers will start some topic probably soon after GIGABYTE start to sell cards. And maybe EVGA want to find some better chips for Hybrid.
Tubes look much better on MSI model and EVGA model, GIGABYTE is somehow sleeve similar to Fury X. Not first class.
It's nice because VRM is water cooled but really should be waited 1-2 months before final decision.

I know but GIGABYTE owners will open own club for their Waterforce Xtreme Gaming.
With GIGABYTE GTX980Ti people had great overclocking results, but year before that bad.

With GIGABYTE GTX980Ti people had great overclocking results, but year before that bad.

I hope they changed the pipes for the 1080. I didnt like what they had on the 980ti. it looked cheap as hell

And now look cheap, compare with EVGA and MSI, zip ties hold sleeve on GIGABYTE model.
AMD didn't change at all even for PRO Duo, and people really didn't like on Fury X.
They need completely to change place if they want different tubes. To be honest better without sleeve at all than big sleeve.
But clock is great, looks like that's their fastest GTX1080 model, that mean should be compared with EVGA Classified.
Only if EVGA decide to push Hybrid further on 150-170MHz

PasTecHi
Zuhl3156
There's already a GTX-1080 Owners Club thread at Overclock.net that will have a ton of information from owners of cards from various manufacturers: http://www.overclock.net/...a-gtx-1080-owners-club

thx for this. Lets see what they say

I learned plenty from my participation in the 980 Owners Club thread. Sometimes you can learn a lot and others times it's just senseless chatter going back and forth about silly common sense things for days and days.
