PasTecHi
zlpw0ker Im new to this site, but I have lurked on this site for a little while now. There was a struggle for me between the Fury X and 980ti hybrid, but the 980ti hybrid costs almost the same as 1080 hybrid I wanted to get a strong and low temp gpu that was with pascal architecture. I have eyeballed the 1080 seahawk for a while due its design that features black and white. Most of my hw is black and white aswell so I unintentionally got that theme going on. One thing I didnt like about 980ti seahawk was the fact that it had blue LED lights on fan and thats a no go for me. I dunno how the 1080 seahawk is gonna be. Both models had slightly transparent/translucent? fan blades so if seahawk is color LED fan I will skip on it. Now for the evga 1080 hybrid, I read that 980ti hybrid was 10 C cooler than seahawk model and that is very impressive. I would imagine that the 1080 hybrid is almost the same cooling and therefore much better than 1080 seahawk. Then I saw something on on evga site that the evga 1080 hybrid took 2.5 pcie slot which means I cant use the first 3 pcie slots and therefore losing 1 slot, anyone know if this is true. Because I really dont want a gpu that takes over 2 pcie slots, that is the limit for me. But if the 1080 hybrid takes 2 slots I will cancel my seahawk and wait for the hybrid.
we will know ones its released late June. P.S. the EVGA was 10degree cooler because if im not mistaken the sea hawk comes pre-overclocked while the evga u need to manual overclock it. EVGA Hybrid can be OC higher than the sea hawk too
I have pre ordered the seahawk on a norwegian site, they get the gpu the 17th they say. So I havent received it yet. But I might go for the evga hybrid even tho it might take up 2.5 pcie slots,I hate that there is 1 pcie slot that I cant use because of the evga 1080 hybrid is so with. ohh ok. That explains it why the hybrids are cooler than seahawks.Im not gonna OC the gpu so I dont really care for that, but I do however want the coolest gpu out of those two. I might cancel the seahawk and wait for the hybrid myself,I just hope it wont get much more expensive than seahawk.
where did u buy the seahawk 1080? Because i couldnt find any on the market. Well if you are not gonna worry about OCi'd still say keep the sea hawk because eve tho it comes pre-overclocked due watercooled it will stay cool and you will not feel any throttling at all like those ****ty founders edition cards are having atm. That sea hawk on full load would reach around 65degree while it needs to reach75 to 80 degree to start throttling..(i think)

DJViking I need a new card soon. I must be AIO water cooled. So if EVGA does not release their 1080 Hybrid soon I have to take my money to a different brand.
Really, Like Who? It was EVGA that created the Hybrid.
i think he meant another company that sells them. For example Phanteks or EKWB installed blocks on the founders/custom 1080's and he just have to apply the loops. Or go buy the MSI Seahawk 1080 lol
A Water Block and the Hybrids are of two different Birds so to speak. Water Block -V- All in One.
i think the point is that even though evga was the first. they are no longer the only. but i still think, at least right now, their current option is the best. but who knows what other companies will release in the next 2-3 months.

Reason I need it now: I am building a new computer, and have all components but the graphics card. Its an X99 så no onboard GPU to use in the mean time. I have purchased a backup EVGA GT 610 to use, but it does not have much power to play the heavy games out there.

Hybrid will become even more popular after this generation you will see... I promise you. Still people didn't experienced 60C under full load after hour of gaming and complete absence of noise without extreme solutions and custom loop. I can't wait to compare temp and noise from GT with big air coolers... If temps are similar as TITAN X Hybrid that would be fantastic.

Hey, I don't see why they would change it. I think they used the Asetek coolers on the 9th series and it worked well. Don't see why they wouldn't do the same on the 10 series. Max

transdogmifier yeah, I think I'm gonna get a hybrid too. I like quiet...and it's a lot quieter than fans.
It's not only quieter than graphic fans, it's complete silent because you use case fan 120mm on 140-150RPM instead GPU fans on 2000-2200-2500. In first minutes most custom air graphic card cool down chip very good, problems show up later when air start to worm little by little. You hear nothing even with side panel. You can use Gentle Typhoon, or eLoop, EKWB Vardar, CORSAIR SP120, ... anything you like. Connect them nicely on motherboard and keep constant speed, best for temps but silent. Listen me, and you will be happy when topics about overheating start to show up with different models and your card work on MAX 60-65, but fabric overclocked model. Many people talk about even lower temps with TITAN X Hybrid and 980Ti Hybrid. And Pascal is not bad graphic card, only need constant nice temperature and enough power. OK OC depend from NVIDIA decision and manufacturer BIOS but some models will be useless for overclocking even if people win good chips.

Before the product announcement I had decided to get a pair of Hybrids. But. I gave in to the dark side and bought a pair of FE's when I got the chance. I'll add water later if I have to. I'm happy so far (but waiting for a HB bridge).

I cancelled the 1080 seahawk as preorder on thursday. I reckon I could have used the gpu until the 1080 hybrid comes on market since the online store I buy from has 45days return policy. But I decided not to and im hoping I didnt do the wrong thing. The hybrid better come soon. I hope its worth it.
