Vlada011 If you are satisfied that's most important. But for now this is the one of most serious and most elegant GPU I ever saw. When I build clean PC for me even before few years I always wished similar GPU. This is probably Obsidian 450D from and RIG of one member from EVGA Forum.
i dunno. the Hybrid just looks "OK" to me. not ugly, but nothing special either. the painted Waterforce looks awesome. it'll look even better in my white/black build. jlp209 @Systom- nice job that looks pretty sweet. Still no issues of excessive pump noise or anything? I'm tempted to try a Gigabyte too, to see if it clocks much faster than my Hybrid. My max stable core OC is 2038mhz. @Vlada011- that build is mine, I love the all black / hint of gunmetal color of the whole system. I've since replaced the stock H80i GT CPU cooler fans with two ML120's and cleaned up a couple cables + tied them down. The ML120 is the real deal, so quiet compered to the SP120. I was going to get another one for the Hybrid but I'm happy with the stock fan honestly. It is much quieter compared to the 980 Ti Hybrid Kit and my temps rarely exceed 50 degrees. Usually hover at 46-48 while gaming. from what i can tell, the pump noise issue on the Waterforce is far and few -- not the norm. u could only get 2038MHz MAX? that's discouraging because most of the EVGA cards seem to be bad overclockers. i might replace my Hybrid's rad fans with some Gentle Typhoons because of the white blades. we shall see how well it overclocks first.

So you currently have the Strix and have a Waterforce and Hybrid on order? Awesome if so. Yeah my max is 2038 but it never downclocks. It is disappointing but I really think the "golden range" is 2000-2100 mhz. I've been obsessing over OC speeds over the long weekend and have read countless forums and threads. I laugh because so many people say they are stable at 2150 but get artifacts at times in certain programs or games and still call that stable, or the core downclocks as temps / power use go up. My goal in buying a new card would be to get to 2100 mhz, but really I will never see a difference between 2038 and 2100 mhz on a better performing card. E-peen flaunting is strong with the 1080, haha, it is hard to not get caught up in it. If people really are rock solid at 2100 mhz - at all times every game every app- great. I've read about people with FTW boards being unable to even hit 2000 mhz, so yeah maybe it's an EVGA thing. Please post your experiences with your other cards if you have more on the way.

i've had an MSI Founders Edition and my current Asus Strix 1080 OC. i was tempted to purchase the Waterforce, but hated the orange because it would've ruined my build's color scheme. my FE got up to 2153mhz or 2156mhz. of course it throttled due to the crappy stock cooler. the highest stable clock i got my Strix OC to was around 2136mhz. it ran at 2101mhz (OC mode) right out of the box, so that's what it's currently at. it'll hold those clocks all day long, and do so at a whisper, with my custom fan curve i set. once in a while it'll go down to 2055mhz and then peg right back up to 2101mhz. honestly, i just ordered the EVGA Hybrid to see what all the hype was about. that and i wanted to try a watercooled GPU in my setup. it'll be my first watercooled GPU.

hehehippie damn, that looks awesome. what did u use to paint it with? i was so tempted to do something similar. it'll probably be the same crap lol. i just wanted to try out a watercooled GPU. it'll be my 3rd different 1080.
People recommend you use a high heat resistant based spray paint, I just used a basic rustoleum metallic that matched my builds aesthetic. (I would have used a better spray, but there was none that matched the color that closely, so I took a chance. Plus, this card doesn't get as hot as others do...Just gotta be careful when you're putting it back together so you don't scrape it when locking the shroud back into place. Yes, I disassembled the whole card, shroud, backplate, board, I even removed the full water plate to re-tim it with Thermal Grizzly. Due to some people reporting problems with the card, I just used it for a week or two to verify all was OK, then I modded. Does it affect warranty? Probably, actually, Gigabyte was supposed to get back to me regarding that--but I don't live my life acting as if all hardware will automatically fail, though it does happen, sure, taking a chance.) Getting those lines were a pain too though, I also did the orange on the underside of the card that's on metallic, with BLACK. There is some minor imperfections, things I could do a little better or clean up, but in general, I'm happy with the results. This is actually my 3rd 1080 as well, I owned the Asus Strix 1080 as well as the EVGA 1080 FTW, the Gigabyte card is quieter than both of them, obviously lower temperatures, and slightly outperforms both of them as well, at least with the units I had. You know which card I decided to keep. TacticalBeard geez man at that point but a Titan XP
I could, but it's not worth the price to performance, I'd go SLI 1080 before I do that, but I'm also not interested in SLI until if and when it's better supported. petmic10 Wow! That looks great. No more orange!!
Yep, banished all orange. Thanks. jlp209 @Systom- nice job that looks pretty sweet. Still no issues of excessive pump noise or anything? I'm tempted to try a Gigabyte too, to see if it clocks much faster than my Hybrid. My max stable core OC is 2038mhz.
None, zero issues with my unit. My stable OC is over 2100, but that's not gonna make any discernible differences besides that exact numbers in my opinion...much less just silicon lottery, all in all. I think a lot of people don't understand that hardware of all types can just, well, fail, or work improperly, that doesn't mean you just keep it with a loud pump/fan, get it replaced. While building my new X99 setup, my 6850K CPU died, my EVGA 1000W T2 died as well, crap happens, usually in the early stages like that in my experience--both replaced now and up and running great.

i feel sorry for u guys that have been hawking the EVGA site, for months, for the Hybrid. that tax + ridiculous shipping charge really sucks. @Systom: was your Strix the OC model as well?

It should be the same price as the other one, but I'm betting it'll be maybe 20.00 more at 140.00 or so. The reason being why it's overall so expensive to buy the kit whenever it comes out versus just buying the actual hybrid, is due to the costs that go into the ACX Cooler/shroud of the air FTW, so all in all, EVGA makes all the moneys. Now if they offered up some kinda discount/trade in to send them back the air coolers, eh'... hehehippie @Systom: was your Strix the OC model as well?
No, it was the next "normal" model they released, now I'm not sure if they were binned or not, or so you'd think otherwise why not brand it OC? I had the normal Strix 1080 stable at 2050, temperatures around 72C at 70% fan. I'm sure my ambient temps affect my numbers all in all, because I live in Hawaii. The FTW I had would get to around 76C around similar clock speeds--I personally would have stuck with the Strix over the FTW for the temperature reasons alone. (when I mention temps, I'm mentioning MAX, burn in with unigine or hours of gaming on Witcher 3--on average or for other games, temperatures are a little lower. For those interested, here's some specs: This is an earlier on test of the 1080 Waterforce while playing Witcher 3. I do actual gameplay tests, not stuff like FutureMark or Unigine for a final a result (I use them initially to find a sweet spot.) as I can honestly push my clocks higher and claim that it's stable when technically during gaming, and different games, it's not--that's not what I call stable. So, could I get a score of 2.2ghz and show off? Maybe, but what's the point? I want stability all around. As for the picture, my new replaced CPU is much better, I have it clocked at a full 4.4ghz and I even pushed it to 4.5 but voltages/temps are too high for my AIO, but good to know for a future custom loop. That along with the RAM being pushed to 2800mhz. The GPU I've refined a little bit from the picture, but it clocks the same and it's stable during my gaming sessions for hours on, fan speed is now locked to 30% with my different configuration. I'll be installing my last PC part sometime this week to "complete" this build, which is a Samsung 950 Pro along with a PCIE enclosure, along with tidying a few things up to wrap it all up. Once this is completed, I'll have some high quality pictures taken and I'll share some here for whoever is interested along with some specs. I've seen people mention fan types on here, so for the record, all the fans in my build is Gentle Typhoon PWM 2150's. Except for the Gigabyte GPU AIO fan that you CANNOT remove, even if you open it up, the fan wiring is paired with the pump that's attached to the board...technically you could snip it, but ya know...though in my case, I have the fan hidden in PUSH while the Gentle Typhoon is pulling as shown in the picture. There's also a Gentle Typhoon pushing on the opposite side of the shown CPU rad. The gigabyte fan is not loud at all though, at least where I have it at 30%, don't even hear it over all the GT's going. I've used Noctua's in the past, they're both great, the GT's just fit the aesthetic better and they push a lot of air, for rads or case fans, super quiet too. I personally think I prefer the GT's more, but that wouldn't be by much from Noctua's. Those new magnetic Corsair one's sound almost too good to be true...awaiting more reviews first. My next future upgrade from this build will be a full custom loop, most likely with the release of Volta.

where's a good place to purchase the Gentle Typhoons? Newegg's prices are retarded and Amazon has a bunch of different kinds. are the PWM 2150rpm one's the best ones? the white blades will fit my color scheme perfectly. i have Noctua NF-A14 FLX's and Noctua P-14 Redux 1500 PMW's on my radiator. i will be mounting the radiator (with a fan in push) in the rear where my exhaust is now. will it be possible to attach a pull fan onto the outside of my case to get a push/pull configuration?

There is an entire thread that discusses this very issue regarding GTX1080 SLI vs. Titan XP. The Titan XP won in the votes by over 80%. Reason being? Yup, the Titan XP provides more consistent performance regardless of the game being played. And max FPS does NOT tell the whole story. Even with lower FPS being shown onscreen in games, gameplay was still noticeably smoother with the single Titan XP in the vast majority of games. Also, native DX12 games (not those that were DX11, then patched to DX12) do not scale well at all when played with an SLI configuration. No such issues with a single Titan XP. I owned a dual GTX980Ti SLI configuration and replaced them with a single Titan XP and can tell you first hand that what was pointed out in that thread is absolutely true. Yes, I could have easily bought two GTX1080s and ran them in SLI, but I knew all of the shortfalls by doing so. I have now owned the Titan XP for a few weeks and can happily say that I have found no need to buy a second one. I play games at Ultra settings at both UQHD and 4K UHD resolutions on monitors that have G-Sync (Acer X34 and Acer XB321HK) and gameplay is very smooth. Only Crysis 3 gives me issues, but that game's coding sucks (sloppy software devs) and was never properly optimized anyway. Turn off AA when gaming at 4K UHD resolution and performance jumps 30-50%! Anyone who does their homework knows that AA is an absolute waste at 4K UHD resolution anyways Here's the thread for your viewing pleasure: https://hardforum.com/threads/1080-sli-vs-titan-x-pascal.1905821/page-3Remember to keep an open mind as you don't own an Titan XP, and thus don't know first hand the difference.

Thank you very much Boss for the heads up! I've now pre-ordered it from Scan and it is expected to be delivered sometime between the 9th and 14th. A bit sad that I didn't buy it from the EVGA site since I wanted to buy a T-shirt from here as well :D But anyways, I'm just happy I don't have to spam F5 the entire day long (well not actually ALL day). The cost on Scan came down to 749.99£ for the card and it was free delivery. However I did buy some new PSU cables so they added 17.55£ for the shipping to Sweden there lol 749.99£ translates to about 896.25€ right of this moment

i was able to grab one from Jet.com as well. promo code took $50 off and opting out of free returns took off an additional $16-$17 bucks. they also had what seemed to be a nice/big stock of Waterforce 1080's for a couple of weeks. this is my first time buying from Jet.com, but the promo code + savings from opting out of free returns + no tax + free shipping was very enticing. mine says it should be here around Friday.

captainnibbles When it was on jet the other day I paid less than $670 for the Hybrid, plus shipping. Should arrive tomorrow

When you used the 10% coupon they had, yes.
i guess im more surprised that it was in stock anywhere else then evga direct. has amazon even had it yet?
The only reason they had it in stock is because newegg did. Newegg fulfills Jet orders directly. Kinda weird, honestly.

hehehippie where's a good place to purchase the Gentle Typhoons? Newegg's prices are retarded and Amazon has a bunch of different kinds. are the PWM 2150rpm one's the best ones? the white blades will fit my color scheme perfectly. i have Noctua NF-A14 FLX's and Noctua P-14 Redux 1500 PMW's on my radiator. i will be mounting the radiator (with a fan in push) in the rear where my exhaust is now. will it be possible to attach a pull fan onto the outside of my case to get a push/pull configuration?
Gonna have to look around, generally, they're hard to find--I personally bought all of mine from someone on amazon which are rebranded from Nidec Servo, as I understand they went from a few different ownership changes or name changes, I don't know. The fan blades are grey though, not white. It's also good to note that the fans cable will be fruity colorful, I just colored mine black, but for good measure, I used extension cables throughout. Otherwise, there's a few modding sites out there that sell Gentle Typhoon's with black blades or even white blades, but it's up to you if you want PWM or a specific 3 pin RPM type--but these modding sites also sleeve the fans wiring nicely, but overall, they come at a big price, and aren't in stock or preorder or something. modmymods offer white blades, but preorder who knows when. otherwise maybe Vardar's full whites, although I can't fully recommend them as I've never used them, but it would've been next on my list if I could not get Gentle Typhoon's as they seem to get generally great reviews.

thanks. i'm going to look into the EK Vardar F2's. the all white Vardar fans would be awesome for my build, but they're not available anywhere.

The 1080 hybrid has been listed on the swedish site komplett.se aswell with an expected arrival of october the 2nd. I can also confirm that scan.uk did NOT send out my order for the hybrid even though it was said to get in stock on thursday. They we're fast af to grab my money though... Wish we could just get a freaking confirmation from EVGA on when it will be available in the EU for once.

As soon as we have recevied a new ETA we will display this on our website. If you require any amendments to the order, please feel free to contact us.''

Was that from scan.uk? In that case I will do the same. As I have stated a few times now. I don't know why EVGA ignores us here in this thread. It has over 1600 replies which is one of the most active threads at the moment. Give us an estimate and I will be happy. Doesnt matcher if it is one month from now. I don't want to be kept in the dark. That is all.

Yeah I know. I think I need to clarify that too. I'm not blaming scan.uk. I just rather buy it from a swedish store instead if it gets in stock at the same time for scan (oct 2nd in sweden it seems). Easier with support in case something happens with the card since English is obviously not my native language.
