jlp209 Never complain about or question high boost clocks out of the box! There was another thread on here from someone about that and I wanted to bang my head against the wall, LOL. As someone else said stock boost is 1860mhz. Mine boosts to 2000mhz out of the box but I can only reach 2050mhz stable OC so far. I thought 2063 was solid before but further testing proved otherwise. You will probably be able to hit 2100mhz if out of the box you get 2025. If you're so concerned and can't sleep at night due to high stock boost clock, I've got you covered. I'll trade cards with you and you won't have to worry.
No no no, I'm not complaining at all. I was just wondering. Apparently ASIC quality is 100%. I connected the fan to my mainboard instead of the GPU because I want to control it. Now I saw the fan only has 2-pins and my mainboard doesn't really let me control it. I replaced the fan with a Corsair 4-pin fan. Now I can control the speed. But I would like to control the speed of the fan depending on the temperature of the GPU. Unfortunately my mainboard won't let me do that. I also can't use SpeedFan as it won't let me change the speed of the fans. Anybody has an idea how I could solve this problem? Mainboard ist the ASUS Maximus VIII Hero btw. Also: Anybody has a suggestion for a good fan as a replacement?

does your board have fan expert (ai suite)? i just set mine to run at a lower speed anytime im not gaming. then i go into fan expert and set it to 100% while i game. i like noctua nf-f12a fans for my rads. quite, but ugly.

Yes, it has. I more or less do the same now. But I would like an automatic solution. I know Noctua Fans are good but I just can't get over the color. Doesn't work at all with my build right now.

Also, the Corsair levitation fans aren't all they're cracked up to be. I have 2 140s and 4 120s in my build (doing push/pull on my Hybrid) and they perform well, but they're nowhere CLOSE to silent. Air hitting grills or rads WILL make noise. My Noctuas were quieter at the same temps, honestly.

Hmmm I'd be interested in some hard facts for this. I want to get the hybrid kit on Christmas and I originally planned to slam 2 Noctuas onto it - after reading about the ML120s I thought these would be the better choice regarding noise to performance levels. I planned upgrading my Corsair H100i with them as well (currently using Corsair SP120s on it) Now you are saying they are louder than the Noctuas and I'm quite confused xD Do you use shrouds?

Right when I installed the GPU I loaded an older version of GPU Z and it read the 88 ASIC. It did not read the correct GPU clock at all so I updated GPU Z. That's the last time I saw it, no idea why it was visible then and not now. Or if it even was true ASIC reading at all.

The newest version, when posted, had a comment made by W1zzard (the software author) that he is working on it still and hoping to fix it. The older versions of GPU-Z read it based on Maxwell architecture and thus gave inaccurate readings. If I'm not mistaken, the newest versions say "ASIC not supported" in some fashion.
What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus

i have the PWM Noctua Redux 140mm's on my Kraken x61's radiator because i, too, couldn't stand the regular brown/tan color. i have 2 of the 140mm brown/tan ones running intake because u can't see them. the Noctua Industrial-series also come in a dark color scheme.

I can't give you hard measurements. But I'm just saying the MLs aren't noiseless or physics-defying. I have a pair of them right now on my Hybrid's rad inside my (very quiet!) Define R5 and I can hear them very noticeably over 60% speed.

Was wondering this too. Some guy here from Germany had a pre-order waiting but didn't say from where or how. Did see a hybrid on ebay but in the US was gonna over 1000€ to ship to Sweden. Plus there always the risk of getting brick in fancy box or having the warranty voided for some reason (not really well read about warranties)

I haven't and I've been searching daily (Best Buy, Micro Center, Newegg, etc.). There were a few I've seen on EBay over the past few weeks but they are marked up really high ($1000+) compared to the MSRP EVGA has set. The best advise I can give you is to wait it out, it will come in stock eventually. If you have a local Micro Center nearby it could help to physically check it (as often as you're willing) when you can, they are like a gold mine, you never know what you'll see on the shelves despite what the website shows. I personally ordered (2) EVGA GTX 1070 FTW Hybrid Gaming cards (earlier in the day; got the lucky email notification and ordered right away) since they will be more than enough on a 2K/Ultra settings screen. They are now sold out as well.

Yes it seems the only Hybrids out there are ludicrously marked up about 350+ over the much more reasonable EVGA price. Funny you mention Micro Center, I live about ten minutes away from the only one in my state, but their GTX 1080 stock on their site is abysmal, but I'll have to go investigate in person.

Alright! Thanks for clearing that :) I did tweet Jacob today about when the EU-store might get stock but he hasn't responded yet.

If the hybrid kit is exactly the same as the one used on the hybrid then you can go by the kit specs: Height: 152.5mm / 6in Width: 121mm / 4.76in Thickness: 27.5mm / 1.08in (This measurement does NOT include the fan) Tube Length: 400mm / 15.75in

Has EVGA shared any info about an official Amazon release? I see a listing page, but only scalpers for now: amazon[dot]com/gp/offer-listing/B01KSE3VT4 I'm hoping that production and distribution can ramp up now that FTW demand seems to be met. By comparison, the Sea Hawk is in stock at most local retailers around me (Australia)…

isn't the EVGA Hydro made for systems with a custom loop watercooling system? the Asus Strix OC's are like unicorns. the regular Strix has been available, but not the OC model. i've seen it only once in like a month, or more, and it disappeared right away.

i could be wrong but isnt the EVGA 1080 hydro an AIO style water cooler not the coustome loop one?
that's the Hybrid that has the AIO cooler for the chip and a fan to cool the VRAM's. the Hydro Copper is full waterblock setup that's ready for a custom loop system. post away. =P
