As tempting as it is to just buy another brand, I'd stick it out a little longer. Today was only the 2nd time (twice today) overall that the Hybrid was available for actual sale and not as a pre-order, no? It was up there for a good 10 minutes the 1st time today. Not a long time by any means I know, but it lasted longer than the usual 2 minute window. As of right now the FTW is still in stock on EVGA. I'd suspect that new batches will become available shortly as the standard FTW is appearing more often, slowly but surely.

I'm not all that worried about getting this quick since I have to wait a few months anyway and by then this should be a bit cheaper too! The wait is killing me though.. Wish i was magically rich :(

Me too... I could buy now but I want to wait new Radeon Vega. I can't fix later if someone better show up. I just want to check and compare price-performance. Than ASUS will launch Poseidon soon, some rumors about new Pascal generation. We will see.

Furface I got mine and found that the temps ran very high. Running Fallout 4 in 2560x1440 Ultra settings and I was hitting over 80c on it. Switched fan to other side to pull cool air from outside case and that had little effect. Tried stock fan and also Noctua 12F and still over 80. Plugged connector to motherboard and cranked fan to 100% and got into the mid-60's. Still not great. It seems the internal sensors just will not crank the fan up fast enough to keep the card cool. I was even getting 40-50c at idle. I don't think for a $700+ card we should have to manually crank up the rad fan every time we are going to play a game. This is essentially a gaming card and it should handle it on its own. I tried Speedfan as Jayz2cents recommended but it doesn't seem to recognize the fan rpm from my motherboard. Asus Z170-Deluxe.
Is there a way to tie in the onboard fan controller to the GPU temp to spin the fan up automatically when it gets hot? Any ideas? I'm really not impressed with these temps or maybe my card has a defective sensor. Thoughts?
Thanks
Those temps are way too high. Mine is running 27C at idle and 54C under full load when benching (Unigine Heaven). Temps are actually in the mid-40s when regular gaming. Please verify that both the shroud fan and radiator fan are working properly. A stray cable or even a defective fan would easily contribute to such high temps. Let us know what you are able to find out!

To be honest this card need one PCI bracket with fan control speed and possibility to customer connect even two fans in Push-Pull and to turn fan speed. Same as on picture. I would propose that before launch date.

Huh, so I would need to get out my seat and fiddle with that any time I wanted to adjust the fan speed? Sounds like a terrible idea :S Just do what reviewers have mentioned and plug fan into motherboard for control via bios or software. Nothing stopping you doing this with 2 fans in push-pull.

Iluv2raceit More pics... GTX1080 FTW Hybrid installation completed. Note that a fan guard is not included - I had to add one, which is an excellent idea should you install the radiator into a small form factor. If not for the fan guard, my cabling inside this tiny case would prevent the radiator fan from spinning.
Nice build. Must have been a **** to get that card in there. Great job. How does she run?
The system is running great! So quiet, yet so powerful ;-) I have always wanted a powerful small form factor PC and now I finally have it. The only compromise is that there isn't a Hybrid version of the Titan X Pascal...lol.

Fair warning, MSI warranty sucks big time. No modifications whatsoever are allowed - not even switching out the radiator fan - crazy! Also, warranty is not transferable to second owners. And need I mention that the MSI uses a conventional blower fan, which is quite a bit louder when the card is under full load compared to the much quieter fan on the EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid. The MSI card has 5+1 VRMs, while the EVGA version has 10+2 VRMs, hence the 2 x 8-pin power connectors. That doesn't necessarily mean higher overclocks, but is does mean more stable power to the card. And the EVGA card is $20 cheaper. So, you see the EVGA version is better in every way. Just some food for thought. I know you are impatient and I understand completely. I just want to outline some key differences that are for me the reasons to wait for EVGA version to be back in stock.

MSI warranty is based on time (three years) from the production date of the card. That date is located in the S/N. It is not from the date of the purchase, but there is no restriction as to the the number of owners.

That isn't the FTW Hybrid kit he was talking about. That is the reference PCB kit. Unless he also meant the regular kit, in which case I apologize.

I knew about Newegg, but as I mentioned somewhere else, as soon as I change shipping destination to my country the kit gets removed from the cart. Didn't know about ShopBLT or Jet, neither came up when I searched for the kit. However, ShopBLT wants front and back images of my card, whereas Jet.com showed nothing when I put in PN.

Ah, thanks. I must be getting the MSI warranty confused with another manufacturer. Either way, the EVGA warranty is still way better :P

adcustom Installed a 1080 Hybrid today. Phenomenal job, EVGA! The shroud was a little creaky, didn't seem up to par with the usual industry leading build quality, but the performance is stellar so far. Love running at 2,114 MHz core and 11,016 MHz mem stable over an extended stress test without exceeding 47C. The overclocking is on par with what I had seen on my Classified, but with MUCH lower temps (obvs). This one is a winner! And man, is the temptation to Hybrid SLI strong. Must. Resist.

I am running at ~49C now with Dual ML120 Fans in a Push Pull on a fan controller. The best part is my office is not 90degrees anymore. and my power usage went from 795Watts gaming to 420Watts. The wait is worth it, however I do think I am going to be buying another Hybrid, I just miss SLI, still need to decide on a case though.

Sure guys! I did buy a whole upgrade for the system and new water cooling for the cpu.. custom loop. But way cost effective to run a hybrid cooler when possible for graphics cards over buying a new custom block ea upgrade.. that is if you upgrade every year hehe. I did already have 2 evga fe 1080s and ek full face blocks for them and back plates and the bridge.. then I got lucky as I was away on vacation and I could not install the stuff and then seen the ftw hybrids in stock and snagged them! Saved like $331 bucks going with the better hybrids! A complete no brainer!! Haha The pc upgrade is being held off till I get some coolant as Mc don't have crap other then colored fluids. I want clear if possable.. tempted to look into a 50/50 mix with antifreeze but worried it would suck and look green or brown. Crap! Weekend is apon us and now I'll prob have to wait till Monday Tuesday if I ordered quick.

2-pack ML120 non pros. You are correct in your statement, the only difference is the pros light up. My case is on the side of my desk that I never see so I couldn't justify the extra cost for the Pros. I paid $40 even with NJ sales tax and the fan splitter off amazon

I think this is the best fan configuration if you have the room and are overclocking. As a test I purchased another fan for my Sea Hawk to run it in push/pull and I saw a 5 to 6 degree Celsius drop by just adding a fan. No fan controller though. I'm using the motherboard bios to control the fans. The fans I'm using are the Cougar CFD120. The combination of low noise, high cfm and decent air pressure are the reason I use them. These fans are rated at 1200 rpm but I've seen as high as 1350 rpm in my setup. I have them setup to stay very quiet at idle(50% @ 30C) but they ramp up as temperature increases while still remaining pretty quiet. It's been working really well so far. Would love if Jacob could give an estimate on when the EU store might get the 1080 hybrids. Peace

Trelor Well I have installed my Hybrid and I have had it running for 2 Days at 2126Core and 10,800Memory. I love this card, it has replaced my since sold GTX 780 SLI setup.
Did you buy the 2-pack ML120 or 2x single "Pro" ML120 fans? My Hybrid arrives next Monday and I already have a fan controller lying around for a situation like this. As far as I can tell there is no difference between the regular and Pro fans other than the color?
2-pack ML120 non pros. You are correct in your statement, the only difference is the pros light up. My case is on the side of my desk that I never see so I couldn't justify the extra cost for the Pros. I paid $40 even with NJ sales tax and the fan splitter off amazon
Thanks. My new case won't fit a p/p fan setup on top where I currently have my hybrid radiator, or from the looks of it anywhere at the top of the case. Not enough clearance. I knew I should've just bought the 760T or the Obsidian 750D over the 450D. No idea prior to buying it, but the 450D is a real pain with its side panels. It's a 15 minute project getting both panels to slide on and fit into place. I'm already getting irritated at the thought of opening the case on Monday to install the new GPU. May just go all out and buy a new case a month after buying my current one.
Could you put one of the fan on the outside rear with a fan cover, wouldn't look 100%, but still may work.
Heatware: Trelor - I primarily use eBay which is attached to my heatware.

One thing I don't understand is why they don't offer a bigger radiator. The 120mm radiator cools better than the straight air cooling, but a 120mm radiator is good for around 100 W. Ideally, they should offer a 240 mm radiator option for best cooling. It's probably to address the market. Most folks may not have room for a 240mm radiator in their case.
