@Trelor: Yes I could do that but I also had to remove 1 of the fans on the H80i GT cooler so now it is just in 1x push config. My CPU temps have gone up a lot, I lowered my OC and voltage to shave off 5-10C. The latest Nvidia driver has raised my Hybrid temps under load as well (seeing 56C when before max was 50). Not happy with this case and when my rebate arrives I'll use it toward the 760T and give my hardware some breathing room.

*Edit: Asus AI Suite was the problem, it was interfering with Corsair software and CPU cooler control. Uninstalled it and Corsair Link is now working as it should with the cooler. Also was just able to fit the 2nd fan back onto the H80i radiator for push/pull config once again so I'm all good. Will post my temps w/ the 1080 Hybrid once installed.

@ksgnow: I would buy a 240mm radiator Hybrid in a second. I think your're right, most people would probably prefer a smaller radiator.

I would love to have a 140 mm rad option. It's not a huge difference but every degree counts!

I think 120mm is enough, 140mm could be problem for some case.
Some of them support only 120mm fan on back side. If customer want to replace fan and use push-pull easier will find good 120mm radiator fan.
Graphic look GREAT. EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid. Nice name for GPU.
You probably see before...

Temperatures with Gentle Typhoon 2150 are probably fantastic.

Re: EVGA 1080 Hybrid? 2016/08/28 03:16:13 (permalink)
I predict huge demand for Hybrid cards before several months and during 2017 will be even bigger.
Many people will decide to buy Hybrid kit or FTW Hybrid GPU.

Some people propose Kraken or etc... But to be honest I want elegant GPU for 1080+100$ and Kraken is not elegant.
Custom loop is only better option, but below 350+ GPU block you can't build nice CPU+GPU cooling.
Together that's almost 500$, just little below. And when you need to pay so much for cooling only, not some new hardware with 80% performance improvements, than it's hard decision if economic situation is not really good. 500$ just like that for cooling.
That's some monitor, 950 PRO + 850 EVO 1TB, newest Intel Core i7+RAM,... etc...
Many gamers and enthusiasts always need something and could spend 500$ on some new hardware, in 90% of situation we need something, me to, I constantly save money for something new :)... tragedy...  and for us is Hybrid great option.
Custom loop look cool and give great temperature but investment is hard decision for many gamers.

the seahawks are available on newegg, screw waiting for this mess to straighten out

CORSAIR sells the Sea Hawk X same price as newegg, always in stock cus no one knows :)  (uses a corsair fan)

Fair warning, MSI warranty sucks big time.  No modifications whatsoever are allowed - not even switching out the radiator fan - crazy!  Also, warranty is not transferable to second owners.  And need I mention that the MSI uses a conventional blower fan, which is quite a bit louder when the card is under full load compared to the much quieter fan on the EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid.  The MSI card has 5+1 VRMs, while the EVGA version has 10+2 VRMs, hence the 2 x 8-pin power connectors.  That doesn't necessarily mean higher overclocks, but is does mean more stable power to the card.  And the EVGA card is $20 cheaper.  So, you see the EVGA version is better in every way.  Just some food for thought.  I know you are impatient and I understand completely.  I just want to outline some key differences that are for me the reasons to wait for EVGA version to be back in stock.

I dont think MSI sucks, I dont think EVGA sucks.  The 1080's are all about the same.  OC, temps, limits.  The 1080 Hybrid's are all good cards. OC (EVGA slightly higher) Temps, limits.
Have you ever kept a video card installed and the warranty ran out? I dont expect to hold on the MSI for 3 years.
I would have had a EVGA about 3 months ago, didnt happen. You have your reasons.  They are both very good cards.

Real time performance is the difference, not just random numbers.
1080 resolution 31C-37C.  4K resolution 41C-43C both at 2012 no brainer OC button,.
"I know you are impatient and I understand completely" I am not, made my purchase already :)
Now I am looking for a new case to include Hybrid SLI

I'm thinking of installing the hybrid's radiator when I buy it in the optical disk drive area (CD-ROM area) as push/pull intake, do you think the tubing is long enough for that in a med tower case (CMSIII)? And is the radiator 140mmx140mm exactly? If it's not I'd appreciate measurements of length, width, and tubing length.

Still waiting for my 1080 FTW Hybrid to arrive, shame the shipping costs are so high now through EVGA.

I see one on Amazon for $1,200 with a ship date of September 2-20, which means they are hoping to get some from elsewhere at standard pricing first..  scum

Still talking about a card that's still not available? How many days has it been since it came out? For 1070, it's been 26 days since Jacob announced it on twitter.

The Gigabyte is full water block, completely enclosed and cools VRMs too. There's no fan on the actual card unlike the Hybrid. MSI has a fan on the card too and the cooler is made by Corsair. Nothing a smidge of voltage + custom bios can't resolve re: getting to 2200mhz on the Hybrid I'd suspect. Other than Apple, no other company ever has provided the quality of support that EVGA has provided me. I wait for EVGA cards every generation.

I see a lot of reviews mentioning loud pump noise, and that the fan is not that high quality but also extremely difficult to remove, looks like the thing is wired internally. So if you were going to pass on waiting for the Hybrid it looks like the MSI Sea Hawk is the better purchase.

What is taking so long? It has been weeks since EVGA released the Hybrid and still not in stock here in Norway.
I am soon to give up on EVGA because this is just ridiculous.

Yeah same here in Sweden (duh obviously neighbour hehe). What annoys me is the lack of information along with the shortage of cards. The shortage I do understand, not much EVGA can do there. Still annoying though. I'm refreshing the page for the hybrid many times each day since EVGA refuses to give an ETA on when the cards will be available here in Europe. That together with the shortage on the cards causes me lots of frustration. I mean the cards could be available in 5mins or in 5 weeks. We don't know anything, thats what frustrates me :/
Peace

The way I see it, it's EVGA selling a couple of cards early in the US to subdue us, when the matter of the fact is, that actual mass-production is ages away. If they had the cards, they could have shipped a ton of them to US, and then as much the next week. But they don't have them ready. They just sold a small batch that they were able to produce so that we wouldn't be able to say that the card was announced on June 2nd and, come September, there will still be no sight of it.
Fun fact, Jakob said the release date for the 1080 hybrid was "late June"
They're lagging behind the competition to the extent where they're not relevant anymore and will be there only to pick up the scraps.
It could be different if EVGA didn't keep us in the dark, but that's bad for their image.

Got my 1080 Hybrid tonight, nowhere else for all those tubes to go in my case, haha. My slave BIOS power limit is no different than master BIOS, both power limits are 120% and my boost clock tops out at 1968mhz. Completely stock settings w/ power limit at 120%. I'm using the latest Afterburner beta. Slave BIOS is 86.04.17.01.80 per GPU-Z. Will shoot an email to tech support.

Was looking forward to OC'ing the card tonight but I guess that won't happen until I get the BIOS figured out. My card's ASIC is 88% for what it's worth.

EVGA GTX1080 FTW Hybrid look very cool.
That would be my nicest graphic card in life, without doubt.
She is just as I like, elegant like someone who is angry and not satisfied with his sick big colorful GPU decide to make some nice mod for elegant and classic dark/black clean PC.
It's to nice for default fabric cooler.  Considering what we can see on market she look incredible.

Yes I love the look of the card too. I called EVGA and they suggested I try Precision, and now it correctly goes up to 130%. I think I have a bad overclocker though. Granted I know nothing about the latest Precision yet other than the basics + adjust the voltage slider to 100 on the left side. Preliminary benchmarks have my voltage max at 1.093v, with a +100 core offset I crashed at 2088mhz. Solid at 2060mhz. Not thrilled...at all...but temps are insanely cool on this thing, barely over 40 degrees. MUCH quieter than my 980 Ti Hybrid too.

I don't want another brand though...I love EVGA my titans are EVGA and I haven't had a single problem with them. I have corsair H90s on each titan so I have experienced AIO GPUs and I will never go back to full water blocks and def not to air. I have a new pg279q and a i7 build I have been working on for the last 2 months I only need GPUs. So when I walk by my computer desk and see in side the air 540 case with no GPUs I feel let down. I hope I don't sound B**chy I just wish EVGA would aleast update us to help keep my spirits up.

Stable at 2060 seems pretty decent, right on par, not every card is hitting 2.1. Also, performance wise it's pretty insignificant, maybe 1 frame if you were able to hit it, pretty negligible unless benchmarking is what you are into. If it's for gaming, you'll be thrilled.

Yeah, just ran F1 2016 for a bit. This card gives me a nice 12 fps boost vs 980 Ti OC in terms of minimum fps (70 to 82), want to stay as close to 100 fps as possible. I get stuttering even at stock settings when running 3dmark, less apparent in F1 game so far. Hopefully an early driver issue.

Played a bit more F1 and the micro stuttering is bad. Ran latencymon, all systems green. Will wait a week or two, if no driver updates I'm sending the card back and reverting back to 980 Ti. Won't clutter this thread anymore with my issues. Good luck all.
