I got my EVGA 980 Hybrid, but this year for tax return I am going to upgrade it to the 1080 hybrid or 1080ti hybrid if that is an option. Sucks because my 980 hybrid is still a relatively good card, but I wont be able to do much with it :(

Your card is good but you can get good price for GTX980 Hybrid and with GTX1080 Hybrid in games you will feel similar as with GTX980 SLI. Depend of scaling in specific games of course... But with single GTX1080 or even GTX1080Ti if you can afford performance increase will be amazing. More video memory is very important factor. EVGA Pascal series Is attractive from every side, ACX 3.0 with white LED special Classified with wide PCB and EVGA Power Link Adapter, Hybrids are elegant more than both models before, nice Hydro Copper will be available later.

ipkha Someone will make a waterblock for it. Either EVGA will do it or one of the other companies. Maybe classified won't make sense this time round, or just take a few months to figure out the trick to pascal. They've already announced the intention of creating hydro copper and hybrid cards. Just gotta wait while they sort it out.

That's why I sold off my 980 ti hybrids. Value is dropping fast for the used 900 series. Better to get $450 per now then $200 if I'm lucky when the 1080 ti launches and the market is flooded with 1080s.

I have an idea that maybe EVGA can consider. Clearly this thread is proof there are many people interested in this particular product(Hybrid). Obviously we don't know how many Hybrids are coming(EVGA might). Why can't you set up a system were you give people in this thread first crack at the Hybrid. Lets say you notify us via private message with a link to purchase a unit and that link expires after 24 hours? Clearly we want your product because we are here patiently waiting. This way you stop the scalpers from buying the initial run and charging some outrageous price for it on Ebay. Also it would keep some of your customers from buying the competition's product instead. Just a thought.

This is why I stepped up my 980 ti Hybrid SLI to 1080 FE SLI so I wouldn't lose out on too much money due to price dropping of the 980 ti's.

IMO EVGA should have a preorder system for a certain cards. If you are willing to plunk down full MSRP for a card (hundreds of dollars mind you) ahead of release (perhaps well ahead), that should get you a spot in line (maybe a limited number of spots). I would make the deposit none refundable after a certain period of time as an added layer of security for EVGA (item could be returned for a refund once received). I would also not make it possible to preorder, cancel and then preorder again. I would do this for the XX80/XX80 Ti Hybrid, Classified and K|NGP|N. The real wrinkle with this is that since EVGA basically sells out for the first month regardless, they have little incentive. Not to mention the money it would cost to integrate a system like this into the website and backend systems, etc. I would not be surprised if the cost/benefit for this does not turn out positive. IMO the only real benefit is providing customers with a less nightmarish buying experience (IE fastest finger/internet connection battle royale). TLDR... probably... not going to happen.

Vlada011 How much EVGA plan to OC Hybrid? I ask because higher clock is better but stability is most important thing. Looks like ASUS have some problems with GTX1080 Strix OC and want to stop production. Now I don't know is it ROG STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING with 1754 Base Clock /1784 OC Mode problematic or some other model with even higher clock. I remember that we complain why EVGA decide to go with 30-50MHz lower clock for FTW if we talk about that Strix model. But looks like they advice people to cancel order and expect non OC Strix model in July. Too many RMA thanks to instability because high clock is reason. It's fair from ASUS because they say that and didn't allow to people suffer with slow RMA process and delay RMA to customers blaming other things and advice downlock as solution. It's much better when company say clearly to customers what's happen. Probably NVIDIA driver change situation for many people who have chips overclocked to the end and once barely stable become unstable in most situation. Later they explain that as not true and they expect limited number of Strix. It's very danger when manufacturer don't stress card properly and all cards overclocked to the end have big chance to become unstable when NVIDIA improve drivers over time.
do u have a link or any proof of this? my Asus Strix OC is performing beautifully in my machine. it hits 2101mhz right out of the box and my card only gets to the high 40's to mid 50's after hours of GTA V with almost everything on max.

I think it was a rumor or something. Basically a non issue and a few people had issues. Over at Reddit Nvidia it was squashed rather quickly. Your temps are obviously not normal but others report staying in the 60's.
A recent thread pointed out that it was the non OC Asus RoG cards that were having troubles.

ok cool. i was just wondering, really, because i haven't read anything negative about the Asus Strix OC 1080. the rumor about the regular Asus Strix might be true though because i've noticed that they have very few of those in circulation. when planning my build, i made GPU airflow a huge concern. it's one of the main reasons why i went with the NZXT Switch 810 case. i have 2 140mm Noctuas for intake and 2 140mm NZXT internal case fans focusing air right at my GPU:

That's a nice looking case and system setup. I never had the patience for that kind of detail work. My EVGA 1080 FTW goingredients to be under water once the hybrid kit gets released. Might get my system a cleaner look if I get a dg87 case though.

Since we are all waiting and waiting. Anyone have any insider ideas as to what the Hybrid might cost? I'd suspect in the range of a founders edition card, but if I am undershooting a bit, I might just bite at the next time a SC becomes available. My 780 SC has done well over the years and when gaming I can't hear it because of my headset being on anyway. That said, it's almost always at 40% fanspeed even when gaming anyway lol.

I'm assuming the price of the FTW edition +100 bucks. That's almost $800. I would bank on near there.

Don't think it's out yet. Just preorders from earlier whats not out yet? the sea hawk or the ek x sea hawk? there was only 1 dude who had an unboxing video of the sea hawkwith the 1x8 pin(none ek) but no review. He isnt a partnered reviewers because...well he has 82 subs lol....and a phone camera to try recording the unbox...so he did buy it somewhere and not pre-order. appreciate the kind words, fellas. i also have 2 140mm Noctua Redux fans on my Kraken x61. noise level was another huge concern for this build. yeah, i don't see the EVGA 1080 Hybrid being any cheaper than $750+. i couldn't find any MSI 1080 Sea Hawk reviews either. they did go on sale briefly for just a few minutes and i've never seen them come back.
