PasTecHi
petmic10 Alright guys it's July. We're almost there.
*Starts the hypetrain* Come on Jacob dont let us down....By end july i HAVE TO MAKE MY PURCHASE
I know that feeling... I would love to have my card at the end of July as I promised to do some maxed out Let's Plays by then to my ~50 subscribers xD But well, it will get hard as I am in Europe... Hope I can (pre-)order it during the next 2 weeks and get it like 2-3 weeks later. Would be awesome, my build is just waiting for this - everything else is complete. I will pimp the lighting a bit and got a window for the case so there will be some photos as soon as I get my baby. Currently still running with my old hot GTX 580 that yesterday started crashing every 10-30 minutes in ARK. I was already tempted to order another card many times, in fact I ordered 4 and canceled them as they were sold out before I finished my purchase... Now I decided to wait for the hybrid (what was my original plan anyways) and it is sooooo hard :/
Ye....When i order it, and still have to get it in my country i would have to pay an extra 100 dollars to get it in my hands...meaning if i pay 650 on amazon, it will be a total of 750 to get it all the way here in my hands :/ sucks heh...hopefully if end july i can make my purchase, before my amazon prime expire.... august 10 or earlier, that beauty should be in my system

petmic10 The Hybrid will replace my MSI GTX970 100ME you see in the picture. I will slide over the Corsair/Rad to the left a little and put the rad from the hybrid next to it on the right.
Looks good. I just took a photo with my bad smartphone-cam how it looks for me right now. TODO : - add a purple LED-stripe around the window - remove/tape the red LEDs from the sound card - replace the GTX 580 with the GTX 1080 Hybrid - put the 140mm fan at the back to the bottom and put the Hybrid radiator at the back. Oh, and remove that cable I just saw in front of the fan xD - sell the old PC with the GTX 580 Hopefully it will look great xD
I've never seen a purple color scheme. It's going to look great. All we need is our Hybrids!

Haha I got the same issue in my case if you look close at my photo.. I just realized it when I took it. But I think I am too lazy to flip it, especially as I am not sure if I got enough of my thermal paste (Grizzly Kryonaut) left over and it was kind of hard to apply it (maybe would be more easy if I warm it up before)... I mean it is not a problem function-wise and it is kind of characteristic for my chaotic mind xD Well, I have a month left to think about it until I open my case again ^^ /edit: The more I think about it the more it bothers me... Damnit xD Might have to order some new thermal paste together with the graphics card.

Same thing here..if i flip it over i may have to apply new thermal which is why i left it there....I told my gf to not worry about it, it will not make your pc run like **** lol...i probably might have to buy another arctic thermal compound just incase lol

PLEASE tell me the Hybrid version will have threaded fittings like the ASUS Poseidon series. I want to plumb it into my existing loop, not have to find room for another radiator.

Thanks! I finally got around to updating my Mod Rigs page for it. I'm guessing the hydro copper will be what I end up with but I'm scared to see how expensive it's going to be. lol

How much EVGA plan to OC Hybrid? I ask because higher clock is better but stability is most important thing. Looks like ASUS have some problems with GTX1080 Strix OC and want to stop production. Now I don't know is it ROG STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING with 1754 Base Clock /1784 OC Mode problematic or some other model with even higher clock. I remember that we complain why EVGA decide to go with 30-50MHz lower clock for FTW if we talk about that Strix model. But looks like they advice people to cancel order and expect non OC Strix model in July. Too many RMA thanks to instability because high clock is reason. It's fair from ASUS because they say that and didn't allow to people suffer with slow RMA process and delay RMA to customers blaming other things and advice downlock as solution. It's much better when company say clearly to customers what's happen. Probably NVIDIA driver change situation for many people who have chips overclocked to the end and once barely stable become unstable in most situation. Later they explain that as not true and they expect limited number of Strix. It's very danger when manufacturer don't stress card properly and all cards overclocked to the end have big chance to become unstable when NVIDIA improve drivers over time.

Just by lowering the temperature with the Hybrid cooler you can get 50-100MHz from Boost 3.0. 1950-2000MHz on the Hybrid should be realistic with 2.1-2.15GHz OC on a good chip.

Galaxy prepare some card with Base clock 1800MHz, Limited Edition. Damn I hate white hardware. How they plan to OC so much Pascal... I don't know. Or that would be only on paper, in reality card will not exist or we will see 20 owners on overclock.net who get card from Galaxy. But 1800 Base, 2000 Boost is very attractive.

EVGA_JacobF More details soon
I hope you guys considered a GTX 1080 Classified Hybrid.
Classified cards are generally intended to actually be put on water. There's not a huge incentive for EVGA to create another SKU for a card that's likely to preform around the same as the FTW.

There will be kits for the FTW, as the Hybrid is just a FTW PCB with a cooler on it. But If that same kit works on the Classified, doesn't that pretty much tell us the FTW and Classy PCB's are the same or at least similar enough to have the same compatibility? Doesn't seem right.

They specifically said, thereferring will be at least 2 hybrid kits. 1 for FTW PCB and 1 for Classified PCB. Also said prefilled custom loop system coming late 3rd quarter. Why not wait for HydroCopper card?

If this is the case, I wouldn't expect the Classified to be such a game changer as it has been in the last card lines. So far, I haven't seen any noticeable OC differences between reference, SC, and FTW cards... And since the SC and FTW are binned chips that often times overclock the same or lower than just a reference chip, which is shocking with the FTW given all the extra power phases... I wouldn't expect the classified to be any different. It seems to me that silicone lottery still exists, but it's not as prominent due to manufacturing processes getting better and better. The classified will most likely come down to who wants to pay extra to have the bragging rights to say, "Hey look at me!"

Someone will make a waterblock for it. Either EVGA will do it or one of the other companies. Maybe classified won't make sense this time round, or just take a few months to figure out the trick to pascal. They've already announced the intention of creating hydro copper and hybrid cards. Just gotta wait while they sort it out.
