Basically the same response when asking about info on the AIO add-on kits & compatibility.

It would be nice to know basic AIO compatibility info for choosing AIB or Basic (5180/6180) card on step-up.

Both should be able to work fine.

Hi, Jacob!  Thanks for taking the time to answer!  EVGA's customer service is the industry's best.

I could have better phrased my previous question, so I'll try once more.

Will EVGA be offering a separate AIO cooling set-up that is compatible with models that come with the ACX 3.0 cooler, or only with the HSF cooler models?

Thanks

We plan to have 2 versions.

One that will cover 1080 FE, SC, ACX and blower.

Another version that will cover FTW

Will the actual Hybrid 1080 that's released be the FTW PCB one?

Rather obvious they will since they mentioned support for Founder's Edition (they are all the same)

never dealt with watercooled GPU's, so sorry for the noob question.

i have an Asus 1080 Strix OC on the way, so i'd love to throw an AIO watercooling solution onto it later down the road.

That one will not be supported by anyone I'm afraid. It's full water block or air, and quite honestly it does extremely well on air in the first place.

Looking at the specs I see that the classified and ftw are the only two cards that are rgb. Since the hybrid will supposedly use the ftw board, does that mean it will be rgb as well?

Anybody know if the previous hybrids were rgb?

Thanks

I really hope they get a LOT more stock in soon so these scalpers will go away. Also, since I work anywhere from 9-13 hours a day during the week, I ALWAYS miss them when they do come in stock. /sigh

EVGA, be smart and make a Hybrid option for SLI. Like two cards attached to a 240 RAD or something. :D

That sounds like a very good option so SLI owners dont have to deal with 2 rads !

I just hope it's not super limited production for the hybrid kit. I remember trying to get one for my gtx 980ti and they were sold out for months and people were selling them for $300 on ebay. They were only around $100 retail. I waited. I finally got one from evga. Installed it myself. Worked perfectly. I had my ti oc'd to 1500mhz it never went much over 60° can't wait to get one on this mini oven that is the 1080

To be fair, the initial ETA at the very beginning of June for the Hybrid was early/mid July.

I wonder when mid July comes will it be pushed to August?

The silver lining to this though is Gigabyte's Waterforce is releasing at the same time so at least we will have options.

That one will not be supported by anyone I'm afraid. It's full water block or air, and quite honestly it does extremely well on air in the first place.

Edit: Sorry didn't notice you asked about custom PCB's. No they will only support their own custom "FTW" pcb with a kit, besides the Hybrid card.

np! i'm just here to learn whatever i can.

i'm totally stoked about finally scoring on the Strix 1080, so i probably won't be upgrading until the 1080 Ti or 1180 comes out.

Not sure if it's listed as working yet but if you want an AIO cooler on a non evga card look for a g10 kraken. It's a mount for an AIO cooler and I am hearing mixed reports of it working and not working so you will need to do some reading.

I know that feeling... I would love to have my card at the end of July as I promised to do some maxed out Let's Plays by then to my ~50 subscribers xD But well, it will get hard as I am in Europe... Hope I can (pre-)order it during the next 2 weeks and get it like 2-3 weeks later. Would be awesome, my build is just waiting for this - everything else is complete. I will pimp the lighting a bit and got a window for the case so there will be some photos as soon as I get my baby.
Currently still running with my old hot GTX 580 that yesterday started crashing every 10-30 minutes in ARK. I was already tempted to order another card many times, in fact I ordered 4 and canceled them as they were sold out before I finished my purchase... Now I decided to wait for the hybrid (what was my original plan anyways) and it is sooooo hard :/

The Hybrid will replace my MSI GTX970 100ME you see in the picture. I will slide over the Corsair/Rad to the left a little and put the rad from the hybrid next to it on the right.

Looks good. I just took a photo with my bad smartphone-cam how it looks for me right now.

TODO :
- add a purple LED-stripe around the window
- remove/tape the red LEDs from the sound card
- replace the GTX 580 with the GTX 1080 Hybrid
- put the 140mm fan at the back to the bottom and put the Hybrid radiator at the back. Oh, and remove that cable I just saw in front of the fan xD
- sell the old PC with the GTX 580

Hopefully it will look great xD
