Seems like the only options these days are the upcoming 3080ti, getting lucky with best buy, or getting the "privilege" to buy a crazy bundle from newegg

Amazon had a massive 3080 drop last week. Per the usual, majority were gobbled up by bots. I think current gen will be even harder to come by and not sure whether we will even see the current gen being shipped after Ti is released.

This sux. I cant sit around checking 80 sources all day every day because I work, hell just checking 3-4 every so often is hard sometimes :(

I check afew sources just 1-2 times a week. Not keeping any hope at this point of finding one online.

Don't feel too bad if you haven't gotten one yet.  The driver situation with Nvidia is so bad right now (and 8 months into the release at that), that Nvidia is starting to look like AMD.  One of the big advantages Nvidia has had for years over AMD was the driver stability and reliability.  Not so anymore.  World of Warcraft and VR still don't work properly for Pete's sake - and those are just two examples.  I have a lot of techie friends who were initially going to give Nvidia a few months to get the driver situation sorted out for the new generation of cards (as is usually pretty typical) before buying one but who are now, after seeing the dumpster fire that the drivers have been for the last eight months (not to mention the similar situation with Precision X1, and these are people who usually go with EVGA cards), deciding they'll probably skip the 3000 series altogether (including the Ti) and just go AMD or maybe wait for the 4k series.

I caved and got lenovo prebuilt 3080. I was surprised the computer is nice and the parts are not trash. Really nice pc.

As a consumer, we have the ability to stop this... We have to not purchase a card at the higher rate, period. Make those that try and take advantage take a hit and force them to sell at MSRP. If people buy them for the higher rate, it hurts everyone in the market and the standard price will go up.

Issue is that only miners are villing to pay ANY price for GPUs right now Ordinary gamer cant or dont want to buy GPU for 2500 USD  which is 1,5x more than my entire PC including peripherals and 27" 1440p 144hz screen....

Just found out I never put in for the EVGA waitlist.   Whoops.

All depends on what you play and what resolution you want to play at.
 
If you're playing at 1920x1080 on games like Valorant, CSGO, LoL, a 3070 is more than enough
 
If you want to play at 1440/4K with high settings go for a 3080.

I would say it a little differently.
In fact, 3070 will be enough even for 2k games.
Overpaying for 3080 makes sense only if:
1. You only play in 4k
2. You play in 2k, but in all your favorite games, you need to get more than 144 frames per second (and in AAA projects, you want to get more than 80-90 FPS)
3. You have a powerful CPU (from 7700k and above/or similar to them in amd performance)
In general, I would now recommend the 3070, because they are a little easier to get. In the future, you can exchange it for 3080 (when the GPU situation improves)

OP did ask about EVGA directly, so I figure the question was for purchase outright.  But these days that's not an option, so queue is all we can report on or ask questions about.
