Hello,

Is there anyway to force my GTX 680's to always be at the highest possible clock when gaming. I tried forcing NVCP to "prefer maximum performance" but I find the clocks just are not the highest they should be in some games (SC, Batman, Crysis 2, BF3). At times they boost to their max clock @ 100% power usage and the FPS is great and then in other places in the same game, the power % drops to 50 or even 30 and then thus my FPS falls.

If I could force a constant clock / power level I would get 120 FPS easy in every game, which is what I want as my monitor supports 120 hz.

So is there anyway to either disable the "boost" mechanism so that I get a constant clock or force it to just run as hard as possible ignoring if it needs to or not. The power of my entire system is super low now with these cards so power usage is not a concern.

Thanks!

Under the "voltage" options on the left side of EVGA Precision X, check "K-Boost". That should lock your clocks at the max frequency.

Only downside to K-Boost is you no longer downclock. There are other methods, will tale some Google searching to find out how.

Case - Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X
    Mobo - EVGA X570 FTW
    CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
    RAM - 32GB Trident Z Royal 3600MHz 14-14-14-34
GPU - EVGA RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming

so whats the downfall if it doesn't down clock?I water cool so heat shouldn't be a issue.

Oh wow, it seems there is a way! Thanks for all the reply's.

I am water cooled and with all my fans basically off these cards still idle at 30C so heat won't be an issue for me.

    Thanks again!

Just because you keep it cool doesn't mean the lifespan isn't affected, heat and temperature don't mean the same things.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

As if most of us keep our equipment long enough to really worry about its lifespan Well, I dont anyway

Wattage usage is an issue to,  There is not reason to be pulling 100+ watts on the desktop when you could just be pulling 10W, saves money.
