I ordered a b stock 970 about 2-3 months ago. Recently, while playing League of Legends,my screen will turn gray, I can still hear sounds as if the game is not frozen, and after about 5-10 seconds, the screen wil go back to normal.

I have updated drivers, and still get the same gray screen. I'm not sure if there is a certain things triggering this, but I've also seen a window pop up saying the display drivers for gtx 970 have crashed, from windows.

It happens once a day, usually. And I only came for 2-3 hours, but it still happens. And league of Legends is not a graphic demanding game. Anyone else encounter this issue? Am I to send this card back to evga BC it is defective? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks much!

Are you using PrecisionX? PrecisionX is known to cause issues with the later releases. Ae you overclocking at all? That could be a sign of an unstable overclock.

Could be caused by the factory overclock that your ssc has. Try downclocking the card 100-200MHz using precision.

I was not using precision nor was I overclocking. However the post under yours says it might be from the factory clock settings so I will try to downclock it some and see what happens BC I still get the gray screen crash and sometimes see the tab in windows screen saying display drivers crashed. Also just a minute ago, I got gray screened then PC beeped and restarted itself. No idea what's going on but I'm probably going to have to return the card BC this issue is annoying especially in a game like League. It always happens during big teamfights, and that's the worst timing for a PC crash :/

That may be a sign of your psu failing. You need to try the card itself in another rig or you need to get a known good psu and try that in your rig to see if the issue persists.

I never ever had any issues with my 7950. But within 2 weeks of getting the bstock 970, I got gray screen crashes. Happens daily pretty much, and only when playing League of Legends. I did download precisionx and dropped my clock 100mhz. My psu should be find, its a year old, corsair cx500m

Have you made sure the AMD drivers are gone?
