I dunno. It’s very odd that the Dark is having such severe memory issues with RPL. I’m not gonna mention exactly, but there other offerings from vendors that are not exhibiting issues and I don’t feel this is fair. The Dark currently has shining reviews on all purchase platforms and video sites. These memory issues cannot stand. I myself have been able to boot 7200 and stabilise 7000 with Hynix M-die and I made plans to upgrade to an RPL chip thinking this board would be more than capable. Not good enough - at all. I say that with all due respect to engineers and coders at EVGA. You guys surely can do better than “try downclocking.” Absolutely no one purchased a Dark to do 6400-6600MT/s, and frankly, we were all doing 7000+ 1T on BIOS 1.15 with Alder Lake just fine.

Bepzinky XMP 7200MHz CL34 TForce doesn't work anymore when combined with 13900K. No POST, stuck in a loop. Tried upping SA but didn't help. Worked fine with 12900K.
Try downclocking the memory to between 6600-7000 and see if you're still stuck.
I load XMP and can boot up to 6400-6600, above that it's a boot loop and needs a CMOS clear. This is the memory I use, it's Hynix A-Die: https://ibb.co/5FSCK1h If you need any more info, let me know.

bios flash back is buggy on the dark, turn on the system again and shut it down and try again. also try shutting the psu and turning it on again.

I tried so many times, customer support also gave up and asked me to RMA. Paid premium money to get 13900K day after release and can't use, if the feature doesn't work they shouldn't advertise it. I put in an advanced RMA but will take time, meantime ordered a 12400K but will arrive only on Monday, ruined my plans for the weekend :/

I wouldn't say that we're being quiet. We're looking into the issues people are reporting. We may not post about it, however, until our team looks into it first.

Understandable; I feel like you guys should at least have posted a mini update after observing the calamity that is OCN and this very thread. I know there aren’t that many users active on EVGA pages, but those that are are reporting some glaringly obvious issues and it’s making those who want to upgrade very uncertain.

I am not sure if it matters but as someone who went through 90 days of BS because my very 1st MB a ASUS ROG Strix Z690-E Gaming WiFi 6E LGA 1700 Intel 12th Gen ATX Gaming Motherboard BIOS totally trashed my Intel i9-12900k, which Intel did replace. Going through 5 different MBs, 3 PSUs and 3 sets of DDR5, to figure out it had to be the CPU, I discovered something odd about the BIOS on the Z690 Dark Kingpin and the Z690 Classified MBs. If you update this BIOS through the BIOS screen instead of the way with no CPU installed, the BIOS installed differently. Through the BIOS screen in BIOS takes 3-4 minutes and for me it did not install correctly. With everything installed, CPU etc., turn off and unplug the PSU, clear CMOS, put the previously blank reformatted USB with either EVGAE698.bin or EVGAE699.bin on the correct MB, in MB BIOS slot, plug in the PSU turn on only the PSU and holding the update BIOS button until the MB sees it, the BIOS install takes 7-8 minutes and it is the only way either MB would update BIOS correctly.

Z690 Classified + 13700KF I am able to boot into higher frequencies with my B die. Currently at 6600Mhz w/ 1.435v. The trade-off is that I cannot run as tight of timings. Not sure what's going on, but anyone that has XMP, that could be why, although I'm not on Hynix M or A die. I'm now at 6800MTs/3400Mhz with just my XMP profile.

hynix green oem 7200c34-42-42-84 1.5v set in bios vdd/vddq shows 1.455v in OS, could probably be lower, I had it higher when I was trying to chase frequency, now I guess I'll just work on tuning this.

zerocool101 After updating BIOS to 2.01 I can no longer get to the BIOS at all. This is with a 4090 FE and 12900K. I had to go into windows with Default settings and flash back to 1.15 in Windows. Back on 1.15 I can get to BIOS again on bootup.
I'm having the same issue. 4090 FE and 13700k for me. I flashed the BIOS to 2.01 and couldn't get into either BIOS or Windows. I flashed the BIOS again, but with the beta 2.0 version. Now, I can boot into Windows, but my display shows "no signal" up until I get to the Windows login screen. I still never see the BIOS.

after tuning a bit more i can get it to post much higher but i think it's a bug bc i was tuning 7000 1T and tried setting diff cpu vddq...and forgot to switch to 2T as i tried raising 200 at a time. managed to post all the way up to 7800 C34 1T lol but windows will def not boot that. once i switch back to 2T, it won't post above 7466 C34 2T oddly enough, a die does not seem to scale with voltage anymore since switching to raptor lake on z690 dark. it's perfectly happy to post up to 7800 1T at 1.54 vdd/1.53 vddq. just bizarre stuff. maybe a bug with command rate + a die on raptor lake idk

nice! did you find the 2.01 bios and 13900K needing less vdd/q for a die? it seems to scale less at sub 8000 right? curious what you've seen. 8000 C32 when :D

I tested AC Valhalla and got an identical score compared to on 1.15. Afterwards I tried GB3 in case it was affecting synthetics, and the score I observed was actually better than I expected it to be. I think maybe just get Intel’s automatic driver update tool and check for the newest ME and stuff. The new microcode apparently requires you to update your Intel chipset and ME stuff.
