Sajin Guess what... My G-SYNC board burned out already. Talk about uber fail!
EDIT: Fixed it.
Had to power cycle my monitor again to get the g-sync board to work again.
your running SLI you have to get use to alt+tab in/out of game to get gsync or vsync-on to work and sync up right. I've been having to do that with SLI since back when I was running 690. I only found I had that issue with Vsync-on and now with Gsync. With Vsync off I never had to deal with Alt+tab'ing in/out of games.
Here is my first post on the issue...
Sajin This is what happened...
Fired up Metro LL, monitor immediately went black and said (out of signal), hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen, monitor signal came back on while viewing the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen, hit cancel on the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen, now at desktop, game auto minimized while viewing CTRL+ALT+DEL screen. I tried to restore the minimized game by selecting it on the taskbar, no dice, had to perform the above sequence again to regain monitor singal as the screen went back while restoring the game. Used task manager to kill the game. Restarted my PC. Tried firing up Metro again, fired up without a problem, noticed g-sync was not enabled (monitor led was just glowing white, should be red when g-sync is on), exited game. Open NVCP, setup G-SYNC menu missing. Uninstalled the video drivers, cleaned everything up using driver sweeper & ccleaner. Rebooted PC. Performed a clean install of the latest drivers. G-SYNC menu still missing. Uninstalled the drivers again, clean everything up using driver sweeper and ccleaner.
Accessed the registry... - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Video (highlighted the Video key and pressed the delete key to clear all NVIDIA display GUID's.) - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video (highlighted the Video key and pressed the delete key to clear all NVIDIA display GUID's.) Rebooted PC. Shutdown PC. Turned off the monitor, unplugged it from the wall, press and held the monitor power button for 30 seconds to power drain it, plugged the monitor power cable back into the wall, turned on the monitor, start pc, performed a clean install of the latest drivers. G-SYNC menu now back, setup nvcp settings, fire up metro, g-sync working (red led shown on monitor), all good.
All I had to do this time was... turn off the monitor, unplugged it from the wall, press and held the monitor power button for 30 seconds to power drain it, plugged the monitor power cable back into the wall, turn the monitor on, g-sync now detected inside nvcp.
Sorry to hear. 800 dollar monitor...time to send it back!

I'm not sending it back until it fails totally. My display is pixel perfect with very little backlight bleed.

Today I was playing Homefront and it locked up. So I ended the program and re-ran it. This time my monitor light did not turn red and there was visible tearing and it locked up again, ended program checked my Nvidia settings and Gsync was set. Rebooted and started the game up and the light didn't change and I still had tearing, minimized game checked my Nvidia settings and Gsync was set. Went back into the game and went to graphics settings turned Vsync on and the monitor light changed to red. Turned off vsync monitor light was still red and it was obvious Gsync was working again. Not sure if the crashes had anything to do with it or not but thought I would give the whole story.

I would send it back while they're still making them.

I am loving the swift. Now I cannot wait to see the improvements with Drivers and asus with firmware. The tech is quite good. Imagine when it is refined a bit more over the next several driver releases.

I'm currently posting from the swift. This thing is incredible. BF4 at 2560x1440 on ultra was in the 80-120 FPS range. Gsync smoothes the crap out of battlefield 4 lol. If only I could get the HDMI2DP adapter working to play Xbox One instead of having to play on a separate display when not PC gaming. Getting a blank screen from the swift with the Startech HDMI2DP via HDMI (PC and Xbox One).

This monitor has an active DP. Most cable converters to DP are passive. You will need a active adapter. They are on the expensive side. I have been on displayport for the last 6 years. The one you linked also will not support the resolution of this monitor so it will black screen.

Also I'd like to add for everyone who is interested in buying one or reluctant due to the Pixel Lottery and people saying 2560x1440 breeds pixel issues exponentially... I have no dead/bright pixels at all. It's 100% pixel perfect just like Sajins.

Asus will also RMA for ANY pixel issues. I bought from Newegg and they said if I had one bright, dim or off i could RMA.

We've had multiple complaints from many forum members that this news release contains tech info best served in general hardware and others who are complaining that there should only be one thread. I tried to leave this open for both but still getting complaints. I'll close this one and lock it as it originally was a news release and the hardware is now on the market. From now on please post all hardware stats and other info here in this thread and this one will be locked instead: http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2211943

So apparently the Startech Rep has confirmed that the HDMI2DP Active Adapter should theoretically work on the Swift at 1080P or 720P etc from an HDMI Source. RMA for the HDMI2DP Adapter in progress (we'll see if it helps, I doubt it). In the meantime I've got the Swift hooked up to the SR-71 exclusively and Xbox One on a spare Bravia.

garnetandblack LOL @ the great Houdini thread. Nothing can lock it down. OK, on topic, I'm still in love with this monitor. Good luck to anyone trying to find one. Tiger Direct apparently has them in stock (but you pay tax and shipping): http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9175893&CatId=5469
Canada Computers somehow got mine and a few others, I actually saw stock on their website, I think stock may be trickling in somehow from Asus Directly, it's almost like they are being rationed

Thanks Jacob, It has been locked and or moved at least twice so far, I'm not sure why however, perhaps to avoid this, we could create a new subforum just for G-SYNC?
