i am sure it sounds like a massive number of failures but really it’s probably a very slim chance of having a failure. If someone said 1/10 cards fail the odds of getting a good one sounds pretty high but that also means for ever 100 cards sold 10 people are online saying they got a bad card.

Waiting on a replacement on mine. Issues started two weeks in. Eager to test the replacement one and praying to RNjesus that it works as intended. Customer service at EVGA is great.

My first FTW3 ran perfect in my 7700k build for the first 2 weeks, then I put it in my new 9900k build and it started having green artifacts, white flashing artifacts and crashes.
RMA with cross ship took 3 days and the new card is perfect so far.  Played about 4 hours of BF5 today with DX12 enabled at 1440p/165hz and it ran flawlessly.

In case it helps any BF V players out there, I found the following which seems counter-intuitive to me, but worked.

  • My game was stuttering every 5 - 10 seconds when using DX 12, but not DX 11.
  • However, I want to use DX 12 because I get better performance than DX 11 and because I want to try the ray-tracing stuff.
  • I can now play with no stutter in BF V under DX 12 when I "pause" or close my Google Backup and Sync.  Google Backup and Sync runs in my system tray all the time normally, but it causes stuttering in BF V for some reason.  I believe it's because it's using too much network bandwidth every few seconds for some reason.
Anyway, if you run Google Backup and Sync, try pausing it or closing it before you play.  Maybe it will work for you too.

FTW3 no issues

Congrats!  Now, I wish I'd spent the extra coin on a FTW3 too.

Had to RMA first card after about 3 weeks as it started to artifact.
I got the second card and stress tested immediately, it was bad, same issue.
3rd card coming tomorrow.

I missed the 30 day new in box by a few days so the second and third cards are reconditioned.
I would highly recommend a full stress test on the card when you get it so if you need to RMA your not in my situation.

I have to say it was very nice when it was working.

*update
Got the new card, benchmarks and stress tests all went well, fingers crossed!
- if you have the old EVGA XOC program uninstall it before putting in the new card and use the EVGA Precision X1, I was told the XOC is not meant for 2080's and may have caused the issue (no idea if that is true)
- does anyone know if you can get the memory temps? Both of my other cards went while the gpu never got above 60 C, but something was heating up, I could smell it faintly.

EVGA support was helpful, polite, and prompt. If you get the card I would suggest registering it right away, and pay whatever the cost is so that you have the option of advanced RMA so you can cross ship. Make sure you have the latest driver and the newest EVGA X1 (it updated my LED driver on first run).

*I have not tried to OC any of my cards with either the EVGA XOC or X1, so like another post said, there may be issues with that

Fredski
How quickly would the issues manifest themselves ? Is it same day or after few days/weeks ?

I got the 2080 Ti XC during the Thanksgiving weekend and it failed on day one with artifacting and the Code 43 error. In retrospect, I should have RMAed it to EVGA instead of having it replaced through Newegg. I should get the replacement before years end.

My FTW3 constantly crashing in game such as BF5 and Cod bo4. In RMA at the moment, not sure when I will get the new card. I was Ocing the card with precision x1. I would suggest people avoid using that program for now.

Stutters are more than likely the ram cache issue, which is a Windows problem. It is fixed by clearing your ram cache. I have a task set to clear it, using a tool, every 5 minutes. I no longer have stuttering in games. Your CPU also seems odd, as I have the same CPU, but at stock speeds and it doesn't run at 90% in BFV...

Could you tell me what program you use for this?

If you look around enough you'll probably see tons of stories of cards dying but honestly it's a small number of them. Yes some people have had to rma several cards, myself included. I'm on my third 2080ti FE in a little over a month. First card was a golden chip but had absolutely horrid coil whine. Second card lasted about three weeks till I noticed artifacting while playing Hitman 2 then a few days after that stopped outputting a video signal all together. Third card seems to be ok but has only been running a few days. My suggestion if you're worried about the card dying buy through EVGA don't go through Nvidia. EVGA's customer service is always top notch, Nvidias is garbage and will make you jump through hoops.

Well i commented on the forst or maybe second page that i would report back if i am having problems with my new 2080ti ftw3 (about a week old) and i am having display port failures on power up. Red lights above the 8pin power connectors flash for a moment and then the rest of the PC continues powering up but i dont get any video feed. After a power cycle display comes back on but this strikes me as a bad omen. I haven't encountered this on my older 2080ti FE card with hundreds of power ups and about 1000hrs of gameplay time. Might be looking at an RMA for the FTW3 card :(

never had any artifacting  issues for not pushed card past It limits, only stock settings for the OC edition cards are maxed out already from factory, know better not to tweak settings
yes EVGA put outs good products (stock settings) for never had a issue @ stock.

Fan issues fixed myself didn't want to RMA it, says a lot about a company when tells me warranty is still honored and stepped up QC.

You got a great card there, I would hold onto it.
Got mine in initial batch of pre-orders and have been gaming with it ever since I got it, almost daily.
Performs great and the cooling does a very good job.

I have the rtx 2080    it works ,  performs a little better than my 1070 ti   but my 1080 ti ftw 3 performs way better.    overclocking the card at all decreases benchmark score .     I under clocked the memory to the max -999  and my frame rater increased by 10 fps over factory  settings.  its either defective memory  or a problem with power delivery.    with power set to 130%  im still not getting more than 50% power at full load , and still freq drop , which does not happen at all with  1080 ti.  alot of these cards    that are not crashing are not performing the way they should.   if you buy one  benchmark it at stock settings   then overclock it and see if scores get better,  under clock memory as much as you can  if score remains the same or frame rates increase with the massive memory under clock then you have a defective card.     its either bad memory or bad power delivery,   a lot of the cards have this problem when they seam to be working fine.   I would not buy a 2000 series card until they get this worked out.   we paid for a BMW and got a Yugo

New hardware I spend usually the 1st 2 weeks tweaking, benching torcher testing to reach top and bottom marks for performance and temps. I managed to satisfy all my concerns in less than a week - solid hardware ! this is my 12th graphics card from EVGA I have had only 1 I ever needed warranty to RMA it was the the old GTX 285 in 2009 solid track record IMO

Bought an Asus Strix OC 2080Ti weeks ago and no issues at all. Actually, have been completely satisfied. I have been reading about A LOT of complaints around the EVGA FTW 3 2080Ti though... So far, I am glad I decided to jump ship.

EDIT: My card has Micron memory.

My new card has Samsung. I only tried OC briefly to put the card under extra stress but heaven began freezing at +500 memory. Hoping that's just heaven, +500 would be the lowest memory oc I've seen on these cards

Glad you're enjoying your card, but I had an the same make of card from Asus back in late November. It died in January. Asus basically said "we don't RMA GPUs, deal with your retailer" who in turn said there is no stock of the Asus cards and Asus can't tell us when they'll get more... So I asked them to send me a new EVGA FTW3 Ultra instead. Not buying another Asus GPU with such awful warranty support.

With my new EVGA card I've bought a 10 year warranty for a nominal amount and EVGA will even cover me if I change the paste or install a hybrid cooler etc. Asus and other brands will void your warranty if you open it up.

Touch wood no problems with this one so far either.

Mine has gone pop this morning after a month of ownership and I have requested a RMA. However, I am not sure how long it going to take to RMA.

What's the average wait time for these to be replaced.
