That makes total sense. These products bring eyes to the site or store, allowing them to sell other items for their business.
I wonder when the stock will normalize?

This is what your up against my friend, look here  (Youtube link to video NOT removed by EVGA)  This is caused by EVGA and all the other secondary card manufacturers.  They are allowing this BS to go on.  That youtube video PERFECTLY explains what is going on.  There are people on this forum STILL waiting to be selected to purchase a card from last year.  What gives EVGA? why are you allowing this to go on?

OK I guess EVGA is NOT scrubbing links to youtube videos that show how criminal they are,  however look up on Youtube  "Greg Salazar" and his video
"This Is What You're Up Against..."
It explains that EVGA and other card manufactures or SOMEONE affiliated with them are selling directly IN BULK to individuals who are then selling them in bulk for 10's of thousands of dollars.  Big daddy EVGA is allowing this to go on.

IN THE VIDEO IT SHOWS 72 (yes that's right SEVENTY TWO) EVGA RTX 3060 Ti video cards being sold by an ONE (1) individual DAYS after launch...  You don't have to be sherlock holmes to figure out that EVGA OR someone AT EVGA did a little shady backdoor deal with someone with deep pockets.  Those video cards COULD have been sold to the guys who signed up for the EVGA purchase system, but no EVGA allows this BS to go on.  YOU EXPLAIN THIS EVGA.

Why manufacturers? Could be just retailers who receive it from them. And what can they do? It's probably not illegal and not breaking contracts.

And no one scrubs anything, probably just new members not allowed to post links. It is here https://forums.evga.com/Petition-for-EVGA-to-prioritize-its-own-webstore-over-unaccountable-3rd-party-distributors-m3281449.aspx and in other threads.

Your missing the point, WATCH the video THEN make your comments.  These cards (the 72 card lot was posted for sale JUST DAYS after release...  HOW?

I Am not an EVGA fanboy, and if you think these people really give a crap about you your delusional.  I signed up for the EVGA purchase system months ago and STILL nothing while I see this garbage on EBay going on..  Am I happy?  no, will this effect my future purchase decisions?  you better believe it, I may be a NOBODY and nothing in the grand scheme of things however I do have control over where I spend my money.  I can and WILL vote with my wallet against companies that allow this BS to take place, ESPECIALLY when there is such a drastic shortage of stock/Chips.

you do realize that when new products get released, they are shipped to stores before the release date so that they have stock for customers, right? I've never seen a product release where only the manufacturer had availability on release day. You can feel free to spend your money however you like but your claims have more holes than Swiss cheese.

I did watch it yesterday.
What proves that it was EVGA and not some distributor who receives it from them?

Ok my "claims" are full of holes, you win.  I'm wrong EVGA is a fantastic company that really cares.  This coming from an individual who has an RTX 3090.  I am just supposed to "BE HAPPY" about the fact that SOMEHOW 72 RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards are being sold BRAND NEW IN BULK days after release by ONE individual.  The fact of the matter is this my friend, I look as a consumer at a product and a brand in this case EVGA and I see their product somehow being scalped days after release, while it in fact could be true that it is a retailer and NOT EVGA that is doing this, I as average consumer will vent at the manufacturer because to me they have to know where their stock is going.  The old adage "the consumer is always right" rings true in that EVGA CAN suffer future sales losses due to these types of shenanigan's.  Consumers can go elsewhere.  Also I do not need YOUR permission to post here or spend my money here or anywhere, so your little comment "You can feel free to spend your money however you like" can be stuck where ever you want.  Are we clear on that "SlayWhitey"? Might not want this advice but it has been relatively easy to get an AMD GPU in their weekly Thursday drops. I was able to get the 6800xt midnight black a couple weeks back. Could have gotten more since then but they make you wait 30 days in-between.

Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL
Mobo: Asrock X570 Taichi
CPU: Ryzen 5900x
GPU: EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra
RAM: Crucial Ballistix OC to 3800 16 18 18 1:1
PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 1600w
Cooling: Custom hardline loop: optimus blocks, primochill stuff, lian li stuff, HW Labs 60mm radiators, custom stuff

It's there attempt at anti scalping and botting measures. They have certain card stocks locked for pick up from their stores only while some cards are online shipping only.

Also obviously have CC saved/etc.  Always do txt instead of email for verification if that pops up.  Sometimes i will try to add any item to cart a few hours before i think there may be a drop which will trigger the verification to get that out of the way.

Here is all past bestbuy drops, you can draw some conclusions based on t he history, outside of the last one which threw everyone off.

How are you able to add items to your Best Buy cart if the 'Add To Cart' button says 'Sold Out' and is not clickable?

When i mention "any", i mean like an in stock tablet or something, ahead of an expected drop time.  Go through the checkout flow to the last page.  Remove it from the cart after that  Sometimes the verification thing may trigger when buying a video card, but sometimes possibly not if you had just done it for a different item an hour before.

Yes on the AMD website. Usually Thursday between 8:30-8:40 am pacific. Website gets weird sometimes. Have to clear cookies sometimes to get the add to cart button to show up. I would avoid using paypal. Get your CC info saved into chrome. I was also successful a couple months back at getting a 5900x CPU from them.

No problem. Also, there is a guy on twitch/youtube that goes by the name falcodrin. He alerts about the drops and will help during the drops. I think the AMD specific stream is on youtube. It's always live.

This might be highly regional too but I live in a major metro. I got the telegram/discord notification last week and was on in seconds. All the cards were gone.

I don't know what you mean by big boy cards, because I was trying to get a 3060ti or above. I don't see the point in spending so much for 1080ti performance for a 3060.

I have no idea why Best Buy couldn't just give you the option to ship directly to your home address instead of having to ship to a store to pick it up.  Either way, it has to get shipped from a warehouse, so instead of shipping to a store, why not just ship it to a residence?

It might help with botters who buy a ton of cards and have them shipped to different addresses, but afaik Best Buy hasn't been enforcing one per person limits anyways so your guess is as good mine.

3060 queue seems to be moving the best.  3060ti queue seems to be pretty slow lately.  Newegg shuffle today seemed to have a good amount of models.

FWIW ive had the best luck with bestbuy drops, so if i were you i would find a discord/stock monitor place, get a bestbuy account setup and ready to go.  Normally drops have been every 2 weeks lately, so i would expect one next week if that stays true.

I've tried every single best buy drop since I starting actively looking for a gpu in March and I haven't been able to buy anything. Plus I don't think best buy sells the card I'm looking for, namely the 80 ftw3 ultra. You got any tips for us aside from being set up prior? I've noticed they do regional drops but I don't know what to make of that information because every time I try to check out, all the stores within a 250 mile radius are sold out already.

Keep trying.  Try both on app and on your computer.  The "please wait" queue seems to be independent between PC and APP, meaning you could be in queue on both devices on your same account at the same time.  Also i save any card i want to look at under "save for later", you can add to cart to get in the queue, and then do final add to cart, all from the main "cart" page that lists all your "save for later" items.  I mean you can also do it individually per product page, but that's harder to keep up with multiple cards in my opinion.  So for me, use app and desktop, and save all cards you want for later, and camp on the cart page.  You should NOT need to refresh, it should auto update when you can add to cart.

Thanks for the tips. I have another question if you don't mind me asking. I was told that SMS was faster for 2FA but then when I tried it I was waiting for like 10 minutes lol. In your opinion is SMS less reliable than email?

Seems like maybe the best way to go about it depending on where NVIDIA feels the biggest crypto problem is.

I have had SMS seemingly get hung before, if you dont get it right away, you can swap to email.  Honestly i have been successful both routes.

A 5 month wait?  I don't understand why EVGA doesn't prioritize their queue 'orders' before providing inventory to retailers.

Because contracts and agreements. EVGA can't just stop fulfilling orders because a million people are sitting in the queue.

I understand they have contractual obligations and agreements with distributors and retailers, however by putting a queue system in place, it could be perceived by customers as a false sense of the ability to get a video card sooner rather than later.

And EVGA will have to live with that perception but it doesn't change whatever agreements they already have in place. The queue is optional for customers, not a contractual obligation. If they signed a contract with a distributor then that's a little more difficult to sidestep.

This is really getting to the heart of the issue. There are many rumors getting thrown around about back door deals and the like. Who a private company sells its products to is completely up to them.
No one posting here knows the business decisions EVGA has made and why. At least they are doing something to prevent bots from gobbling up online stock.

Your missing the point, WATCH the video THEN make your comments.  These cards (the 72 card lot was posted for sale JUST DAYS after release...  HOW?

You need to REWATCH the video, then edit all your comments and apologize for being wrong.  This video is a knee jerk reaction to an Ebay sale where the video maker doesn't even actually know what is going on.

Look at the date on the Ebay listing "March 5th"   The 3060ti released December 2nd of last year.  This Ebay listing is 3 months after release.   Now go read the Ebay listing again, notice how it says  "USED"  as in the cards are all used, not new.  These cards were driven hard by a miner and then sold by that miner to another miner.  Miners are the problem, not EVGA and some imaginary backroom deals that this youtuber made up.

Same here... and 4 Best Buy drops no luck, I guess i have gotten too old and slow and just dont click add to cart fast enough? I use Brobot Discord and every drop people are like "yeah I got one" so unless its an elaborate troll some people are getting them.
