I dont think it will get better. Maybe in a few years. But for sure new cards premiere is a good opportunity to get one. If you are fast on that notify button ofcourse and even when you are it will probably mean waiting for a few months.

I put my auto notify in on December 11th and just got notified on may 3rd. purchased a 3060 and it should be delivered today.
A 5 month wait? I don't understand why EVGA doesn't prioritize their queue 'orders' before providing inventory to retailers.
Because contracts and agreements. EVGA can't just stop fulfilling orders because a million people are sitting in the queue.
I feel like they have stopped making 3080s. waiting for the 3080tis to come out for better profit margin. I have been waiting since September lol

I have been trying to get a GPU to complete my build. I currently have a RTX 1050 TI in my build and i would really like to upgrade to RTX 30 Series. I am looking for any kind of suggestion to get a GPU in this market. Appreciate all your replies.
If you want an EVGA card, direct from EVGA - join the queue. If you haven't already, the wait is going to be painful for you, because I joined the 3080 queues in early October and the queue has barely moved a few days. I've been waiting about 6 months now.

Highly doubtful IMO. That just means another queue for people to sign up who've already signed up for any 30-series card.

I feel like they have stopped making 3080s. waiting for the 3080tis to come out for better profit margin. I have been waiting since September lol
I kind of get the feeling that this is true with all the companies. I've been entering Newegg shuffles for a while now, and they almost never have 3080s on there, and even if they do it would be just one single model. Meanwhile they get constant stock of 3060s, 3060tis, 3070s and 3090s. The only mild hope is that because of this when the 3080ti launches there will actually be a decent number of them on the first day, but that hope is still rather slim.

The outlook does not look good. Your best bet is get on the EVGA queue on a new GPU SKU once it becomes available.

It's rough. I decided to get in queue in March because my 1070 was reaching its limit. I've went ahead and made my new system with my 5900x and bottleneck it with my current card. Not the worst solution in the world but I would imagine myself not getting a card close to MSRP until next year (unless I get really lucky)

I understand they have contractual obligations and agreements with distributors and retailers, however by putting a queue system in place, it could be perceived by customers as a false sense of the ability to get a video card sooner rather than later.
And EVGA will have to live with that perception but it doesn't change whatever agreements they already have in place. The queue is optional for customers, not a contractual obligation. If they signed a contract with a distributor then that's a little more difficult to sidestep.
This! .. I've seen this mentioned before. You have to keep in mind that EVGA has contracts with BB, Amazon, Newegg etc for ALL of their products. Yes GPUs are hard to get and yes it would likely make the queues go faster if they didn't send any to BB, Amazon or Newegg but they can't. If they go back and say they won't fulfill their allotment then BB/Amazon/Newegg just has to say "well we wont list any of you motherboards, PSUs, accessories or anything else until you fulfill our allotment. Those are LONG term contracts that are very important to EVGA. Not that direct customers aren't important but they can't jeopardize a long term part of their business on a short term problem (short term in the grand scheme of things .. a couple years is a drop in the bucket for how long EVGA has been in business)

I’m hoping that eth mining will become unprofitable at the end of 2021, like some people seem to think will happen, and the second hand market will be flooded with gpu’s. Until then? It’s tough.
Mining might get low after elon's tweet but the thing is market will be flooded with mining cards which were already pushed to limits by miners and have less life, Pandemic +iners have destroyed pc gamers ! Never though graphic cards could be so rare to find !

PC gaming is fine, it's always only like 5% that use latest powerful GPUs, others use something like 1050-1060 for years. Mining should not hurt GPUs too much if done right. So not really different than buying any other used things. But it will not get low enough because of one tweet.

It would be helpful if EVGA would post where they are in the backorder list for each product. Like saying what month they're up to. It would be a relief to know if I were getting close (added mine in December 20'). So like are they working on Sept '20 or Nov 20' and I have a long wait still, or should I keep an eye on my inbox. I mean, an 8 hour window isn't much time to act if you have a day job.
Just a thought.

Man I've been waiting 8 months on the queue list for a 3080ftw3, 5 months for every other 3080,3090 model.I entered the Newegg shuffle after only the second time entering i got a EVGA 3070xc3 ultra but had to purchase a psu too because of combo shuffle.Blind Luck i guess but try the shuffle.
Only the second time in the shuffle?? That's some real insane luck. Congrats on the new card. Usually, those combo PSUs, aren't that great, and I heard the ones they bundled with Gigabyte GPUs literally blew up(ALLEGEDLY) so I'd be wary about using those.
I was thinking the same thing. I've been in dozens by now, nothin'. Ah well. Honestly wouldn't care too much to have an item bundled with it... better than having a whole prebuilt crowding up the place that I'd have to sell off piece-wise. Some really interesting tips on BestBuy drops here. Didn't know there was a "schedule". Is there a new update on this?

Also obviously have CC saved/etc. Always do txt instead of email for verification if that pops up. Sometimes i will try to add any item to cart a few hours before i think there may be a drop which will trigger the verification to get that out of the way. Here is all past bestbuy drops, you can draw some conclusions based on t he history, outside of the last one which threw everyone off. Yeah don't do that, if you do weird stuff during the checkout process you might be flagged as a bot, they have manual checks in place as well as be reviewing orders, if they see that you had a card in queue before the queue was even available that might get you flagged. EVGA said that they are going to be taking steps to make it as fair as possible for everyone.

Pretty tough to get one. I would suggest camping at micro center for one or two nights if you don't want to pay extra to scalpers.
