It's rough for everyone right now. 

I’m hoping that eth mining will become unprofitable at the end of 2021, like some people seem to think will happen, and the second hand market will be flooded with gpu’s. Until then? It’s tough.

why would eth drop if they're making it harder to mine soon?

I just hope when eth ever moves to proof of stake (like they’ve been saying for years...) miners will sell their GPUs.

3060 queue seems to be moving the best.  3060ti queue seems to be pretty slow lately.  Newegg shuffle today seemed to have a good amount of models.
 
FWIW ive had the best luck with bestbuy drops, so if i were you i would find a discord/stock monitor place, get a bestbuy account setup and ready to go.  Normally drops have been every 2 weeks lately, so i would expect one next week if that stays true.

Plus I don't think best buy sells the card I'm looking for, namely the 80 ftw3 ultra. You got any tips for us aside from being set up prior? I've noticed they do regional drops but I don't know what to make of that information because every time I try to check out, all the stores within a 250 mile radius are sold out already.

Keep trying.  Try both on app and on your computer.  The "please wait" queue seems to be independent between PC and APP, meaning you could be in queue on both devices on your same account at the same time.  Also i save any card i want to look at under "save for later", you can add to cart to get in the queue, and then do final add to cart, all from the main "cart" page that lists all your "save for later" items.  I mean you can also do it individually per product page, but that's harder to keep up with multiple cards in my opinion.  So for me, use app and desktop, and save all cards you want for later, and camp on the cart page.  You should NOT need to refresh, it should auto update when you can add to cart.

^Great advice for Best Buy up there. I've made GPU attempts on the last two drops and ended up with the same Gigabyte RTX 3060 both times ($479.99, somewhat overpriced but still made a couple friends happy!)
 
Best Buy's queue system drives me absolutely crazy. I went through a phase getting lots of PS5s and I had a lot of success at Target, Walmart, etc., but never once got one from Best Buy. Kills me that they're one of the only reliable GPU sources right now.

I've been trying to get a 30-series card since September and haven't had any luck.  I've been in the EVGA queue for several months with no movement at all.  These shortages are just part of the issue.  If these scalpers weren't a factor, the rest of us would probably be able to just get the ONE video card that we need.

this simply isn't true. It is still more than possible to get a card on best buy. You're probably just going for the big boy cards and that's why you can't get any.

When you say "Big boy cards", which ones are you referring to?  The 3090's and 3080's?

It's getting ever so slightly worse every day. Maybe a slight relief in sight when the "lite hash rate" cards launch, hopefully they've been building up a stockpile of all SKUs.

Let's just hope Nvidia doesn't "accidentally" release the cracked BIOS which unlocks the full potential for mining on those cards.

Man I've been waiting 8 months on the queue list for a 3080ftw3, 5 months for every other 3080,3090 model.I entered the Newegg shuffle after only the second time entering i got a EVGA 3070xc3 ultra but had to purchase a psu too because of combo shuffle.Blind Luck i guess but try the shuffle.

Have you either recently or ever purchased anything from Newegg before you were selected for the Newegg Shuffle?  I've been seeing a lot of posts on a lot of forums that the majority of the "winners" either recently purchased or purchased high-dollar items from them in the past which increased their chances of being selected.

A 5 month wait?  I don't understand why EVGA doesn't prioritize their queue 'orders' before providing inventory to retailers.

Because contracts and agreements. EVGA can't just stop fulfilling orders because a million people are sitting in the queue.
