2 is correct for buying, but not sure if pre ordering will be a different rule. If that makes sense.

it wouldn't make any sense if they limited the amount of pre orders unless they have a limit to what they can manufacture in a certain amount of time. pre orders are the perfect way to see how much they will have to produce to supply the customers

That would depend on actual release date.
Perhaps they are already made and will be out shortly.
I'm also certain manufacturing speed has a role to play in stock availability as well.
That and having a sold out on your store makes for a feast or famine buying frenzy and from all the hype i am reading on the site it looks like the FTW3 is going to kill it.
I'm with you though i hope they don't insta sell out like the FE's did at launch.
If you notice there still sold out on the site as well.

I emailed scan.co.uk to ask if they were going to make the cards available for preorder today on their site and got the following response:

"We are still awaiting on updates from EVGA to confirm when the cards are going to arrive here at SCAN.  As soon as we get confirmed delivery dates and pricing, the cards should appear listed on the website shortly."

Looks like it's only on the EVGA site they'll be available.

I'm trying not to be negative but i have pretty bad luck when it comes to this kind of pre order and when one of these sells out it takes ages to get more in stock =/

If I buy the FTW3, will I be able to retro fit a Hybrid kit?
Or should I wait for the 1080Ti Hybrid?
(Opinions I know, but there's no facts out there from EVGA)....

Different PCB so no retrofit, but dude go FE if you're going to overclock, or SC2 - whichever is cheapest. The Hybrid kit will even the odds on either card honestly and FTW3 will probably be an unnecessary premium.
