Welp I'm regretting my EVGA 1080 Ti FE now. Rep just told me that there won't be any step-ups unless 1180 FE magically comes out within my 90 day buy period.

Why the regret? Just get one of these hybrid coolers and you will be running cooler and quieter!

I'm actually using a makeshift hybrid from my 980 Ti. I only got an extra 150mhz from it.

I see..

I'm not going to be going for any huge OC myself as I'll only be going for 60 FPS on 3440 x 1440 resolution.

I decide it is only between the strix and the FTW3

I'm the same.  They both look great, but I'm 50/50 still.

I'm still holding out hope that the SC Black Edition makes it (the SC2 and FTW3 were never really expected to) for step up.  Whether I grab that or go for the hybrid kit, I'll be content.

The hybrid kit is only for the FE cards as far as we know. It works with the existing blower fan.

I know, I bought an FE back on the 10th. :)  I'd be trying to step up from that to a black or just get the hybrid kit.

I'm still on the fence. I have 70+ days left to decide. The hybrid kit looks good and would be my first water cooling adventure, but I'd like to see if the SC Black gets added to the stepup or the Custom loop kit comes out.

I'm in pretty much the same boat.  The hybrid would be my first dip into the water, but I like that it's completely self-contained.  Black is also an option for me too as I really don't have a need for any significant overclocking.  I'd be happy with cool and quiet.  As it is, in my Cooler Master ATCS 840, I'm not hearing a lot of noise from the FE blower even running For Honor at 6040x1200 (bezel-corrected) @ 60Hz, so I doubt I'll be pushing the card too hard til I get my 4K monitor by year's end.

I did it! went all in. Copped a EVGA 1080 TI from Newegg but they only let me have one :( ordered 2 EKWB from performance-pcs and all I need is another card to free up somewhere.

Is 7680x1440 possible now on AAA titles? We will find out.

Jacob confirms on twitter that the SC Black Edition will be Reference board:

With this info, I assume that Titan XP waterblocks should work on this card. 1080Ti WB maybe not because SC Black looks like they've added a DVI port.

The 1080ti founders still have the dvi port solder points, there just isnt anything attached to the aolder points, so the waterblock should work since the dvi port isnt moving from where the titan xp had it.

For FTW3 there were photos of the product. I mean, it already exists, and it's not just a picture renderer.
All this suggests that the start of sales really soon.
Frequencies relative to the reference are slightly increased.
But apparently this is the first decision of the EVGA based on its own development board.

Unfortunately, the "Max Power Draw" is still not known, but it will be higher than 250W, I think.
The price is interesting, but apparently it will be a surprise on the day of opening the pre-order.
The deadline for sending the pre-order is also unclear.
What is it - a week, two weeks or a month ...

Perhaps I'll take it if I can grab it ;)
It is a pity that the Classy is not even announced. And wait three months I have no patience.

EKWB watercooled overclocked VS EVGA FTW3

both 1080ti

Good morning friends, will the value of these new models of 1080ti exceed the $ 699.00 model founders edition? Does anyone remember the values of past generation custom boards when they were released?

I am sure they will be a easy 750~800$  FTW3 being very high in that scale at that.

also when I bought my 980ti back on December 01, 2015 it was $659.00 for the SC version by EVGA on Newegg.

Release date would help (outside of the 3/28 preorder date).. so if we can decide if its worth holding out or not....and solid pricing. i dont see why it needs to be so hush hush. other people are releasing theirs... hell msi's has already hit shelves ( and at a modest price of 709! with dual 8 pin power)

Thanks for the reply. I ask because I have never bought new or powerful cards, I am currently building a new computer and I am thinking of getting a 1080i instead of 1080. If the SC version is below the $ 699 of the FE version, I will buy it. Very high, I will get a 1080 common. I'm waiting for these releases to finish the assembly!

Yes, if you like scalping, otherwise NO. The price will always be worth 700.00 US dollars at most. Did anyone forget the ICX's i talked about almost last month are coming this March, 28th for Pre-order. So, lets get this straight right Now. These Founders Editions will Only go Down in price, Not up!!!.

Anyone from here or anyone else that tries to over charge is really ripping off people and scalping, because fact is, the Founders Gpu's will only go down in price because of the New FTW3 and SC2 Ti Editions.

Well looking at Newegg and Amazon the FE's are all going for $850.  There is one or 2 that are around the "700" range but those are all sold out...  So i dont think we will see anything for msrp for at least a month if not longer.

I dont think you understand the phrase MSRP completely. Neither the SC2 or the FTW 3 will be msrp, they will be above MSRP. The SC wont be MSRP. Only the base models have ever been MSRP, wgich is $699 for the Ti. They usually go up in $20 to $30 incriments after that. So, $750 for the SC2 isnt unrealistic and $775 to $780 isnt unrealistic for the FTW3.

This is inaccurate. MSRP applies to specific products. The 1080 Ti FE has an MSRP of $699, yes. But these aren't Ti FE's. The EVGA SC (despite it using a reference FE board it will still be a different product), SC2, and FTW3 will all have their own MSRPs set by EVGA.

Also, the person you were quoting was referring to the founders edition card, although I can see why you'd misinterpret, the post wasn't written clearly. He is right in assessing that it is unlikely any FE card will rise above their $699 MSRP, and will likely drop once the AIB cards saturate the market, as even with their higher MSRPs, they will be in greater demand.
