Then there's me waiting for the white Elite FTW3...maybe by Christmas? I have a newegg pre-order (standard FTW3) just in case, though I wish it had the game promos.

I feel you... waiting for that one as well :P TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!

I'm also wondering about the Elite thing.
I have a regular one pre ordered on Newegg and will cancel to get a painted one from EVGA but will there be time that's the question lol.

Couple of questions with the disclaimer of having been out of the channels for awhile my apologies,

I currently run a 2 year old EVGA SuperNOVA 850W Gold psu, which btw has been stellar and with a new build arriving today with Z270 FTW board and 7700K cpu, with modest o'cing will this be sufficient for the Ti FTW3?

Also, I've been reading on supposed flameouts with the 900 series cards from various mfrs, what's the story on this?

and what of this supposed coil whine that was experienced with many 1080 cards previously, has this been addressed?

Thanks everyone.

Your PSU will be fine. We have some testing over on the folding forum with 2 TI's folding with plenty to spare on an 850W power supply.
Thank you for that info ipkha, I figured it may be just wanted to make sure.

This is exactly the scenario I'm in too, it's like they don't want my elite money, lol.

I called Customer Support last week and asked the same question and was told the date had been pushed back to May, 11th. Yet, my ship date still says May 1st. So I guess it depends on who you ask and if they really know the answer.
I'll enjoy it whenever I get it. It's what I wanted, and if I have to wait a few days longer, that's life in the fast lane.

May 11th.... Im ready to burn this website to the ground, how much longer must I wait!

So what your saying is that the specs "might" be a mistake? How can a big company like EVGA not get the specs right of there own product..clearly 1 out of 2 people think its either White or RGB and there has been ZERO attempt to definitively address that question ..nvm no worries..late enough to the party, dont need late surprises. The RGB for the cooler was a deal breaker. I already picked up the Asus Strix which should be arriving Wednesday, and im just going to cancel the EVGA pre-order. Thanks again!

No, they have now verified that the SC2 will definitely have RGB. I am saying that as the product vets closer to release, they change info without saying they have. They just update the little thumbnail, and the specs and then users find it as the updates happen so it is really hard to follow.

Let us know how you like the asus card. I am actually interested in how it does.

The Strix 1080 Ti OC is an amazing card. Glad I jumped on it. That 2.5 slot cooler really made a huge difference in temps. Battlefield 1 in 4K ultra runs at 60 degrees C max, 90 % of my games average between 43-50 degrees C max temp in 4K ultra. Max temp for Heaven benchmark peaked at 63 C. This is with adding +75 MHZ on core clock and +250 MHZ memory clock. Kept it safe, as most games i play run at 4K 60FPS out of the box. Canceling my pre-order for EVGA was not a bad idea, considering im enjoying this beast of a card to the fullest and didnt need to wait till May. Hope all of you get your cards soon. Im out

I'm sticking with EVGA. Getting really tired of companies selling a "2 slot card" when it's really 2.5 slot and thus, completely impossible to stack.

Lots of inquiries about the FTW ship date.  Has anyone heard if the SC2 is still set to ship on the 17th?

More than likely, these cards will be terribly similar. I mean, yeah the /r/PCMR guys can notice the 2 fps difference, but to me it is more about which card fits the build better. Assuming they are identical in price, lulz.

It's also about the looks for me, since I have a tempered glass case.
Don't get me wrong the asus strix looks nice, i'm more of a evga fan.

I'm about to pre order it on Bh&Photo, and it says that it'll be available on the 11th of May? Is that accurate? Thanks in advance

That date makes sense given that the second round of preorder of ftw3 are supposed to ship on the 7th.

Probably canceling my FTW3 preorder in the next couple of days. I was only changing over to EVGA for the shorter card, but decided to stick with ASUS Strix OC being it will be here on Wednesday. I am a little baffled as to how the EVGA brand is taking so long.

Wish I could transfer the purchase to someone on this thread.

Anyone live in the Denver metro area that wants a FTW3 at cost? LOL

How would that work with regard to the Elite Member Exclusive program then?

I have no idea. Im not sure if they have even announced a release date for the Elite models yet. I was referring to the SC2 specifically.
