May 1st as well on my FTW3. I would agree I was hoping sooner shipment but patience always pays off.

I wonder if EVGA will let us upgrade the existing May 1st preorder FTW 3 to the elite card, fingers crossed the release date will be the same.

Is it possible to obtain individual parts for GPU’s from EVGA?
 
Someone was asking what the big deal was of getting an elite version of an FTW3 when you could just paint some of the parts (e.g. the shroud and backplate). Someone else answered back saying that painting parts would void the warrantee.  If individual parts were available and not too expensive, those could be obtained and painted… and swapped out for the original if service was needed.
 
Of course, it would be easier to just make the elite portions (the different colored parts) available for purchase, but it could be that some may wish to be more creative with their color choices than has been shown to be available from EVGA (at the present time).

 
1. Take a picture of your card (just to be sure how it looks before)
2. Remove fan cover/housing from the card.
3. Remove eventual stickers from the fancover.
4. Plasti dip the fancover in any available color matching your opinion.
5. Put back the sticker on your new colored fancover.
6. Assemble back the fancover on the card.
 
Enjoy ;)
 
If you need to send it back for some reason repeat step 2-3 then remove/peel off the plasti color careful and clean up any residue from the cover after that repeat step 4-5.

I called Customer Support last week and asked the same question and was told the date had been pushed back to May, 11th. Yet, my ship date still says May 1st. So I guess it depends on who you ask and if they really know the answer.
I'll enjoy it whenever I get it. It's what I wanted, and if I have to wait a few days longer, that's life in the fast lane.

Yes, Plasti dip is a possible solution. I don't have any experience with it, or removing it and from all that I see on the internet, it's not as easy as they make it appear.
I mean, obtain replacement parts and don't worry about it. It's probably easier to reinstall the original parts than to take the parts off, try to clean off all of the Plasti dip, and then reinstall and hope EVGA accepts them.

You can always spray a layer of silicone before Plasti Dip to make it easier to remove the paint if needed or use Goo Gone:  googone.com :)

Unfortunately, you cannot switch preorders once they have been made. You can however cancel your preorder once and if you get accepted to the Elite Member program and preorder the graphics card you want.

Do the following, in the following order:
 
Cancel your pre-order (that you worked very hard to obtain)
...then...
wait to see if you are (maybe, possibly, not sure, could be) accepted to the Elite Member program
...then...
pre-order the graphics card you want.

Not complicated at all, cause you need to diasemble the fancover anyway. Plasti Dip is easy just practice on a test surface before you spray the fancover.
EVGA does not let you pick whatever color you want execept the 5 colors offered IF you qualify to become an Elite member, what if you want to have for example Orange, Violet, Pink, Gold etc. there is no option for that..

It begins to be so (IMHO) when you add having to spray a layer of silicone before the Plasti dip, not to mention all that's needed to get the Plasti dip off if warrantee service is required.
 
I am not arguing against painting, or in any way modding computer components (just the opposite in fact). What I'm saying is that, for me, in the end it would be easier, less stress (especially in terms of experimentation) and ultimately quicker to obtain extra parts you plan to mod (paint in this case) and then change them out for the unmodded parts if/when warrantee service was needed.
 
One other thing to consider is that I won't have to repaint the parts when I get the GPU back from service.
 
Anyway, we may be straying far afield from the main topic of this thread, so I'll bow out now and leave the last word to you.

Couple of questions with the disclaimer of having been out of the channels for awhile my apologies,
 
I currently run a 2 year old EVGA SuperNOVA 850W Gold psu, which btw has been stellar and with a new build arriving today with Z270 FTW board and 7700K cpu, with modest o'cing will this be sufficient for the Ti FTW3?
 
Also, I've been reading on supposed flameouts with the 900 series cards from various mfrs, what's the story on this?
 
and what of this supposed coil whine that was experienced with many 1080 cards previously, has this been addressed?

Your PSU will be fine. We have some testing over on the folding forum with 2 TI's folding with plenty to spare on an 850W power supply.
