Anyone know what’s the thermal paste came with 3090 KP HC kit? Should I use my own or the one that came with the kit. Thank you

I believe its KPX, but don't quote me on that.
Whatever it is, its good stuff, but if you want to get the best non metal based paste, Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme has 14.2 W/m*K

Point still stands that Kryonaut Extreme is the best to get in place of the stock paste, if that's your prerogative
I would just test with the stock paste first, after you see the temps with block, then make decision of replacing paste or not

OP, what software are you using for all your screenshot and rectangles?  Looks neat.

KekW That's literally MSPaint if memory serves.  I only use Photoshop to resize because it does a much better job at compression/shrinking while maintaining the image quality - for the boxes, text etc I just use MSPaint, I screenshot with PrintScreen button & paste it in to paint.

This has bitten me in the ass a few times, I was trying to test different settings on something to see what scored the best & it kept pasting the same result over & over again... I didn't notice until later.  I was VERY angry that I wasted over an hour of testing and didn't get any of the results saved how I wanted them to be.

Eventually I'm going to get an actual, reliable screenshot program or start usin' Windows built in screenshot thingy... that I can't remember the key commands for. lol

GJ for using paint, not the easiest.  I think some people like greenshot, I haven't tried it though.
I've used Snagit professionally, works great, but it's not free.

Same clocks as my previous 15668: https://www.3dmark.com/pr/1045048

So whatever 3DMark patched yesterday definitely made a difference.

I tried going one step up on the core with a voltage bump, I think I'm hitting hard power limit at that point, score was lower and average clock was lower.  Even on this run the OLED Power readout was at 520-550+W the entire test pretty much.

But it was good for 4th best score on a 5950X/Single 3090 combo for the HoF leaderboard, and 81st overall for single 3090 in general.  I'm happy with that, especially considering pretty much everyone in the top 40 are running LN2 or sub-ambient hardcore cooling (Based on their average temps).

Honestly I'd love to break 16k, but I don't know if I can, especially without going to the 1000W BIOS.  If I had a 10900K that clocked well, I probably could.  Next thing I'm going to try is disabling one of the CCXs and seeing how that goes, once I get the new RAM happy.  Some people have reported going to 8 cores for PR specifically results in a score uplift... also, Time Spy doesn't scale with more than 10 cores, and in fact the score regresses on higher core count CPUs, so that's another score I could improve on further by disabling some cores, apparently.

Crazy left field thought.   Does giving everything a good de-dusting (Is that a word?)  help get your score higher?   I just noticed my fans are getting louder and my temps rising a little, and they are at a set speed.

Not only that, but cutting it down to 4 cores or so for PR. Probably use the best 4 cores that will clock the highest.

Zvedza
Followed the same things done in this thread, and used a mix of the 10x10 and 20x20 due to availability on the backside of the card.
Vertical mounted with a 140mm Noctua 3000rpm fan at an angle at it, Mem junction temp highest it gets on stress test loops is 64*C
Max Hot spot temp is 66*C
PWR:1-3/MEM:1-3 Stay in the 40*C's.
(+125 on core, +1000 on mem)

Dont have a reference of before since i did this when installed the KP card, but on my 3090XC3 my junction temps were max of 80*C's with nothing on the backplate.

I have the XC3 as well and was wondering if you used all 2mm pads or did you need some 1.5mm?  Thinking about ordering 1 120mmx120mmx2mm pad and wondering if that is enough?  Also I don't have much clearance but I am thinking about slipping two 80mmx80mmx10mm fans on top too, not sure how I will secure them just yet though.

@wmmills, your CPU score seems low, I am above 12k (just the cpu) I know this is the thread for 3090s... But just very curious

Is it expected on timespy?

Yes can't wait to put my hands on a KP 🤣

Haaaaa I see, thanks, I did dig a bit cause I thought the X was always a "better" offering for gaming. I use to have a 980X before, and was switched from the 920 (every bias count)... It is just an HEDT, different use case, not better or worse 🤣

Thanks gotta love the TIL

have you tried Paint.net? It's a free app that's been around forever and they just keep updating it and adding more tools to it. It has a surprising amount of functionality for a free app lol. I have used it at work for years and just find it super handy.

It may be cause i have the HT off, so i lose about 30% in points for it. I just wanted to test the gpu real quick, get it recoreded so i can move on from there and tear it down for proper lap/polish, new TIM, proper cut new pads, Hybrid kit etc...

Does anyone here have a dual loop setup for cpu/gpu?
How much radiator did you have for the GPU(KP 3090), and what brand. I was wondering if a Hardware Labs GTS 360 and Hardware Labs SR2 MP 360 would be enough for the KP HC by itself, with one set of pull fans each(Lian li unifans)
I can fit a second set of fans on the gts on the side of my o11d xl if needed, but want some more info before buying the gts
