Hello everyone, I bought a 3080ti and on first start up there was a pop and a red light above the power cables appeared. This has happened twice now and I'm very confused and concerned about what's going on. I don't understand if it's my power supply, motherboard or the power cables. I was so excited for my first build and now I'm stressed more than ever as the most expensive part keeps failing. Parts rundown. CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K Motherboard: MSI MPG Z690 FORCE WIFI ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-5600 CL36 Memory Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung 870 Evo 4 TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB FTW3 ULTRA GAMING Video Card Power Supply: Corsair HX Platinum 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply I am using Corsair sleeved power cables

Sounds like the fuses on the card may have popped.

That's what I think is going on as well. Not sure why it would be doing that.

A short on the card could cause them to pop.

This is the second time ?!? Make sure your not using cables from a different style psu , and you run 3 separate 8 pins for the power to the card. I would probably ring them out to verify they did not make a mistake and pin one of your connectors wrong, although rare , it is possible.

Two cards in a row? I agree, those connections to the PSU are suspect.

I suggest you try a different PSU (if possible) because concluding that it is your card.

As something that has occurred very recently, Make sure the PSU side of your cable is plugged into the PSU and the GPU side is plugged into the GPU. Yes, you read that correctly, the cable can be reversed and cause issues with the red light. Try turning that cable around and see if maybe it helps.
This also may not help, but it is surely much faster than sending the GPU back..
